@Michael Anderson true. He was badass af in Endgame but nothing will beat watching him throw a fucking moon at Tony and going toe to toe with Doctor Strange.
Great film, also love how they have jon favreau kind of showing respect and finishing what he really started which was the marvel cinematic universe. Work of art, Russo brothers never disappoint.
Gamora was betraying Thanos and Ronan when she was introduced in the first Guardians film, so her switching sides during this timeline was no stretch at all.
I love the way at the very last fight. When cap is grounded and beaten to a pulp and looks like on verge of dying. He doesn't have to say "i can do this all day" we know he can do this all day
On that Gamora topic, remember that she always had that hatred for Thanos. She was going to try to get away or try to kill him anyway. Thats why she used that opportunity in Guardians 1 to try and get the Power Stone. So i believed it when she quickly helped out. It was only because it was Nebula trying to persuade her where she had her doubts.
But she didn't know that what she was after was in fact the Power stone, only found out when they got to the Collector and he told them what it was. Then it became how to keep it away from Thanos and Ronan.
in guardians 1. i think until she realized that the orb was an infinity stone i was all theoretical. she didn't belived that thanos would find all 6 stones. remember that gamora and nebula knew that the soul stone is located on vormir but hid it from daddy Thanos. now in endgame she saw that if not stopped thanos would succedd in whipping out half the life in the universe and that this was the time to act against him and stop him
I reckon the fact that it was Nebula imploring her *helped* to convince her - if Nebula's comparatively extreme loyalty could be swayed, that should be more than enough to prove the gravity of the situation to Gamora
The movie (which I did love, don't get me wrong), was fraught with plot issues. Where's the food gonna come from to feed twice the population of the universe? The people who killed themselves after the snap, now their families are back, how's that reconcile? How about the survivors that moved on? How about the survivors of the snap who died because others died during the snap? How did Cap and Red Skull get along when he came to return the Soul Stone? It's chaos.
Cap vs Cap was so good. "I can do this all day". " I know, I know". Scarlett Witch vs Thanos. There is just so much awesome. My favorite MCU movie. Nuff said.
My bladder was acting up before that last act. I was not going anywhere even if I flooded the theater but that last act even had my bladder's attention. Best comicbook action EVER. It makes Civial War a sneak peek.
Scarlet was IW's Gamora of this movie. Not in the sense of soul-stone, but as emotional core. Her performance was phenomenal. And Thor worked perfectly for me. I think due to his performance here I could fully appreciate the decisions they made in Ragnarok.
Cap saying “Avengers Assemble” legitimately might be my favorite movie moment of all time. I cried so hard out of pure joy. No movie has affected me the way this movie did.
One thing I'll say I did 2 tours in Iraq seeing all I did I ended up like thor you dont know what to do so you drink and eat, the Russo did and amazing job on that part
What makes me more emotional than the movie itself is the fact that I started watching Collider during their AMC days when the FIRST Avengers movie released and watching their reactions to that as the MCU started to take off. Every year its been an event for these movies to be released and for the whole crew to discuss all the news and hype with each movie each year. I remember the first time Guardians was announced and NO ONE on the panel could tell you what that was, and I was just as confused as them. I remember hearing the rumors of Spider-Man joining the MCU and them announcing it officially, and I thought was the biggest thing to happen in comic book movies. I always see these movies as soon as they come out and cant talk about it with anyone (since im a decent human who doesnt like to spoil anything) and Collider's review like this one was the only place I could come to and would understand the love for these movies and comics that I have. From AMC to Collider, the amazing hosts current and past (RIP John Schnepp) part of the journey to Endgame was largely shared with Collider videos and their hosts and that has been a highlight for me as a MCU/movie fan and I cant help but feel sentimental from that.
Also, the scene with Cap in the support group foreshadows the lynchpin ENDING of the movie, where he says "we're the ones left, and if we don't do something with it, make the most of it, well, then Thanos should have killed us all." BOOM. Then flash forward to the final fight, when Thanos confronts them "So long as there are those that remember what was, there will be those who resist what could be. Now I know what I must do, I'll shred this universe to atoms, and then build a new one teeming with life, unaware of what came before" Ugggh, PERFECT foreshadowing.
@@Im_Ish Robert Redford's last film officially is An Old Man with A gun, which he starred in and produced. It's about an old criminal who lived his whole life doing petty crimes and prison breaks just for the thrill of it and wanted to go out with a bang. On a meta sense, it being his last movie feels like his own nod and bow to the audiences for his career, that he became an actor because he loved every minute of it, that he is the hero in his own story regardless of public perceptions of his work and him as a person. It's not an amazing film but a really good one to tie it all up. I'm not being salty about Endgame now appears above it in his IMDB listing. It's just I couldn't help to go back to think about the meaning of that movie and the fact we will most likely never see him on screen in a major role ever again the moment he poped up for the brief cameo. Just some feelings that need to get out.
Yea kinda, tho we had the best action scene ever in this film tho. Not in infinity war.thor coming in was great but that was a moment.. not only did cap take that moment home again by summoning mjolnir but also the whole end battle w as s amazing.
Man that Joe Russo and Jim Starlin (Creator of Thanos) was nice. In a way Steve Rogers wanted honor his friend Sam Wilson since he worked as a counselor during Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

@@prashantsingh9068 kilelr yes, but atleast he was killing mafia, drug lords. face it, in real life, no one gives a shit if mafia ppl die, or drug lords, etc. I agree it is wierd. but even in cap 2, from the time with him in the grief counselling, falcon seemed more like the honroable soldier. bucky was more a regular grunt (in cap 1). i do get people not liking it. it didnt bother me. i dont know if they will do a cap film with falcon though. also, in comics, which one became the new cap first.. bucky or falcon? i did think it was bucky but maybe wrong. what i do think was strange, was when falcon went up to cap. not bucky. THAT seemed very off and ya, that may be to give more spotlight on anthony mackie). that said, arent they both in that new series on disney + hehehe
@@prashantsingh9068 actaulyl that part bothers me more. so what i think falcon is the more honorable soldier, the scene should have been bucky goes first. cap whispers to him after they talk, THEN bucky asks falcon to come forward.
What made Thanos such a good villain for me is that I felt that any battle he had with someone he was going to win. I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie.
I thought the way the Russos conveyed the enormity of loss not just visually but also through the very heavy silence of the first part of the movie was genius. It didn't even really hit me until Hulk undid the snap, and you could hear sounds of nature coming into the complex. Birdsong, as a reminder that Thanos unmade half of ALL life, not just people.
Agreed because the only way a battle of that magnitude works on the big screen as well as it did was because of the 10 years of set-up that came before it
It can easily be topped. Technology and movies are only getting better. If one of these comic companies really do some galactic fighting then that will be the chance to top it
The_9th_Hokage naw bro. That scene wasn’t about the tech, the cgi, etc...like the guy above said, that scene was epic because of the 10 year set up of the previous 22 movies. If u are a casual fan that isn’t invested into the mcu, then that scene is just another fight sequence. But to the long term invested fans, seeing everyone appear and assemble to caps command....pfft, LEGENDARY
Even though Strange said there was only one way ... had Scarlett Witch returned to fight Thanos alongside Captain Marvel they could have killed him ... wished that was the route they took so Iron Man could still be alive. The movie was amazing but there are things like that made me think what if. Like what if Thor hadn’t taken such a long time to get to Thanos in IW and just take him out when he appeared. But hey, the films were amazing nonetheless
I'm floored that you didn't give more time to discuss the closing of Caps arc. That hit me more than Tony's. The fact that he got to go back and live a normal life after sacrificing so much, being so alone for so long. It really got to me and is the main thing about Endgame that will stay with me.
I did like his ending, I just thought it was funny. Because like sure he went back and got his happy ending, however he completely forgets that his friend was being tortured for 70 years during his happy time and also killed the father of his other friend... idk I loved the movie and the closing, just can’t get past that thought lol
This movie showed me why they have been hiring Oscar winners/nominees for the MCU. The performances by Gwenyth Paltrow when Tony was dying and Scarlett Johanssen when she sacrifices herself were incredibly well acted.
saffronmonsoon same goes for Renner and Downey, they each had great moments and Tom Holland’s moment with Stark (Oscar buzz for his first film The Impossible, he was snubbed)
It was a nice nod that Thor let Valkyrie become the queen and moved on in free spirit with his new Asgardians of the Galaxy. Warlock will be an interesting for with Thor with them
One thing people all seemed to have missed...It was literally a mouse that saved the Universe. This is a Disney film and none of it would have been possible if "the mouse" hadn't brought back Scott Lang. Dun dun dun!
The rat would have done this in any of the million plus timelines. Tony being alive is the key to this particular timeline working. This timeline is the only timeline in 1 in 14,000,605 that had Stark in it. If Strange had not intervened and given Thanos the time stone in exchange for Stark's life, Tony would have been killed in Infinity War. Without Stark, Hulk would still be turning people into different ages; never able to invent time travel.
gamora was drawing her blade when she thought Thanos was going to kill nebula after he found out she betrays him in the future which to me reinforces that she always wanted to be closer to nebula and it was nebula that would push her away
@@RandomForestGump why? If you think its because he/she thinks changing the trophy for one reward, its happened before. Thanos: I'm inevitable.
Tony: And I'm IRON MAN. R.I.P. The ending was perfect for me Sad about Tony Stark death the goodbye bewteen He and Spiderman broke me. Gamora had switched sides long ago, remember she found the Soul Stone but hid the knowledge from Thanos.
Yeah from Infinity War I got that she has hated Thanos for a long time now.
Also...the first time when Ebony Maw tried to kill past Nebula to stop future Nebula. Gamora reached for her weapons to stop it.
The thing is that Gamora was always a rebel towards Thanos, but since she was his favorite daughter, he wouldn't do anything to her anyway.
"We've come a long way since Budapest."

I lost it at Tony’s death but how poetic that he basically BECAME the suit of armor that he wanted to put around the world to protect it from thanos.
julie I was cool until Tony died also it messed me up 😢
figuratively and literally. the right arm fused to his body from the stones/snap. i assume he is buried fused to the suit.
"I am inevitable."
"I am Iron Man."
He provided a suit of armor for Rhodey, Pepper (partly Morgan since she wore the Rescue helmet) and Peter. They were his world.
TONY wanted a suit of armor around the world, but little does he know before he died that he had Suits of armor, (Peter, Rhodes and His wife) around his world. (HIS LIFE)
Infinity War was a Thanos movie.
Endgame was an Avengers movie.

Yes, nicely done! Totally unexpected in the action. And when it happened, it lasted more than a second, then gone.
YES MY FAVORITE MOMENT IN THE MOVIE
Thor yells, i knew it! Cap even summoned fucking lightning with it.
The convo between Bruce Banner and the Ancient One was deep.
Yea one of my fav scenes
Great film, also love how they have jon favreau kind of showing respect and finishing what he really started which was the marvel cinematic universe. Work of art, Russo brothers never disappoint.
I loved that Thor sought out his mother and not Jane. It was perfect.
It's not just that. His mom is a witch and understands time travel, so having to explain Thor even being there from the future was not required.
Funny how in Infinity War, Thanos told Iron Man “I hope they remember you” but little did he know.
Gamora was betraying Thanos and Ronan when she was introduced in the first Guardians film, so her switching sides during this timeline was no stretch at all.
James Robinson And she had already found and destroyed the map to the Soul stone. So it wasn’t out of character.
People thinking that was out of character are dumb dumbs. Endgame was near perfect.

It was only because it was Nebula trying to persuade her where she had her doubts.
even in this movie she was in a couple of instances prepared to attack Thanos to protect/save nebula
But she didn't know that what she was after was in fact the Power stone, only found out when they got to the Collector and he told them what it was. Then it became how to keep it away from Thanos and Ronan.
@@vinnyb79 ah...yeah true. But her plan I think was already there.
in guardians 1. i think until she realized that the orb was an infinity stone i was all theoretical. she didn't belived that thanos would find all 6 stones. remember that gamora and nebula knew that the soul stone is located on vormir but hid it from daddy Thanos. now in endgame she saw that if not stopped thanos would succedd in whipping out half the life in the universe and that this was the time to act against him and stop him
I reckon the fact that it was Nebula imploring her *helped* to convince her - if Nebula's comparatively extreme loyalty could be swayed, that should be more than enough to prove the gravity of the situation to Gamora
seriously that 3hrs FLEW BY. i was so ready for more. ending was perfect, im sad but im very satisfied
I wonder how long the EXTENDED version will be?
The movie (which I did love, don't get me wrong), was fraught with plot issues. Where's the food gonna come from to feed twice the population of the universe? The people who killed themselves after the snap, now their families are back, how's that reconcile? How about the survivors that moved on? How about the survivors of the snap who died because others died during the snap? How did Cap and Red Skull get along when he came to return the Soul Stone? It's chaos.
Cap honoring Falcons death as a VA counselor and in life passing he's shield to him. As a Veteran myself it had me tearing. Thanks for your work guys.
omg, I didn't even think of that. omg.
Loved Tony's line to Rockett "I'm sorry, I thought you were a build-a-beer"! haha loved the movie :)
Cap vs Cap was so good. "I can do this all day". " I know, I know". Scarlett Witch vs Thanos. There is just so much awesome. My favorite MCU movie. Nuff said.
This movie was the ultimate thank you to the fans. A grand gift. That last hour is COMIC BOOKY HEAVEN! Giant splash page.
I really really loved how IRONMANS last words was I am Iron Man....and how he was just quiet when he died. ugh wow.
Hans Cholo yes. How tony stark couldn’t speak in death yet said so much at the same time
His last words are actually 'Hey Pepper', but he says them very quietly. Saw the movie four times now and can confirm this.

The movie was satisfying for every OG character in my opinion. Best 3rd act I’ve ever seen

So... technically this film now is Robert Redford's last movie in terms of release?
Is there a reason why you point out specifically him? I'm confused
@@Im_Ish he has retired from acting
Ismael Martinez because he officially retired from acting after “the old man and the gun” released last year. It’s not confusing. At all.
Oh okay thanks for everyone clearing that up.

All I'm gonna say is the final act/battle is gonna hard if not *IMPOSSIBLE* to top.
Ain’t nobody topping that shit! Not until marvel tops it again 10 years later when they fight galactus
Agreed because the only way a battle of that magnitude works on the big screen as well as it did was because of the 10 years of set-up that came before it
It can easily be topped. Technology and movies are only getting better. If one of these comic companies really do some galactic fighting then that will be the chance to top it
Endgame is a masterpiece of blockbuster movie making. It's a landmark moment in cinema
