    I see a lot of similarities between the alkaline diet and the blood type diet.
    Despite their concepts having no scientific evidences, at their core they DO teach you how to eat healthy, i.e., having more fruits and vegetables, drinking more water, and avoiding processed foods and pseudo-foods. Such habits are pretty much the epitome of good health, and it explains why so many people have good results with these diets.
    At the end of the day, it is the same old formula of good nutrition, but in fancy, different presentations.

    A pH of 7 is neutral. Blood is 7.35-7.45 which is hardly anything at all. Not only can it be harmful to drop below 7.35 (acid) but it is also harmful to go above 7.45 (alkaline)

    I was diagnosed with emphysema about 3 years ago. I was on medication and cough so hard and so much I felt like my body was going to fall apart. I went on the alkaline diet suggested by Dr, Sebi. Through Prayer and this way of eating in two days no medication was needed within three days the coughing stopped. I no longer suffer with emphysema. Please stop telling people what works or does not work if you have not experienced situations yourself. I now combine alkaline and going to incorporate plant based, because the choices in akaline eating alone are not broad enough for me. I like variety. You said that our food is good, with all the pesticides and chemicals that are being put in food how can you let that statement come out your mouth. Just with that statement I cannot take you serious and believe what you say.

    So good to hear your view on the Alkaline Diet. I was following one and my blood pressure, Iron, other vitamins have always been perfect and now my blood pressure is low, Irons and vitamins are low and I feel faint all the time. Think its time to back to what Fruit and veggies and a very small amount of meat.
    Thank you.

    • @MichelleReacts94

      Beans lentils sweet potato vegan meat cereal and dried apricots etc. have iron. And what were you eating because all fruit and vegetables have vitamins and minerals. If you were restricting your calories and not eating enough of coarse you will have issues with fainting I once had that problem. Also you don't have to just eat fruits and vegetables on a vegan diet unless you are following durian rider of freelee the banana girl diet. Also you feel faint all the time because of an iron deficiency have some dried apricots and beans they will make you feel better.

    • @MichelleReacts94
      @MichelleReacts94 7 років тому

      Actually they are the same. Sure if iron alone was found in vegan food then your statement would be true but beans lentil and dark leafy greens such as spinach have vitamin c which makes it more bioavalible plus vegan's eat a lot more iron than omnivores. Just because our body is able to absorb something more than another food doesn't make it the best plus plants have fibre and vitamin and minerals so obviously that would cause it to be less bioavailable.it has more minerals than animal products all they have is fat and protein no carbs or fibre (except for milk that has carbs)

      It just second handed knowledge food isn't going to directly alter plasmas PH balance, but equally alkaline foods have a healthy place when your guts out of whack or when suffering from candids, thrush parasites inflammation or allergies etc their is something to the physics of food and how it affects digestion in terms of it's PH, but yes the PH diet is misleading and it's claims regarding how it can alter bloodwork, but then so is detox misleading to an extent! Don't believe the hype or the 'experts' desperate to debunk myths they are reporting discoveries from press releases from clinical trials, theories and books, we are all constantly learning and debate is what evolves understanding.
      Even most experts are not the expertst they claim to be, always doubt the authority!
      Question everything! There is a much wisdom in say Ayurveda as their is in proven Western science that is constantky correcting itself!

      Thea Rodriguez I do indeed question everything, including your rant :). I appreciate the civil response. it's getting rare these days.
      I do see where you're coming from, and yes, food does have pH qualities, and different responses from.stomach acid and bile, but that usually gets sorted out along the gut. gut bacteria also has a role to play of course. I have read up on the science and looked at various reliable sources to come to the conclusion that this diet is supported by no evidence at all. similar scenario with detox.
      I also don't consider any scientist to be an authority. that is why I try and get my information from several independent sources that have proved reliable in the past.
      however, ancient knowledge and Ayurveda is something I still question as there is limited science to.support it. it's a bit hit and miss. though I would always like to learn more.

    • @brunoborer7038
      @brunoborer7038 6 років тому +10

      Wasn't it people with degrees in nutrition who decided long ago that fat was making us fat and began to introduce 'low fat' and 'no fat' foods? And what happened to the rate of obesity afterwards? It skyrocketed. Is there any dietician who can prove otherwise? So that the food wouldn't taste like carboard with all the fat removed they had to find something cheap that could improve the taste. What was that miracle ingredient? High fructose corn syrup. It's in everything, especially in the foods that are labeled 'low fat' or 'no fat'. They gave it a bunch of fancy names (i.e. maltodextrin) but it's all the same crap...refined sugar. We didn't have an epidemic of diabetes among the young until we began replacing fat with highly refined sugars. Rates of obesity, diabetes and heart disease have all gone up as a result. Don't disagree with an expert? The experts disagree with each other. So it's up to the individual to exercise due diligence, sort fact from fiction and not be swept away by the politics of nutrition....

  • @katewagner1957
    @katewagner1957 7 років тому +3

    My take on this is that the meat and dairy may have been excluded because the chart was meant to show what to avoid on the acidic side and what to eat on the alkaline side. My understanding is that it takes a long time to change your body's PH with diet. What I remember about my mother-in-law as she was dying in the ICU was that they were measuring the PH regularly and very concerned about her acidity. My question to you is why and how do we get acidic?

    • @1Fenners1
      @1Fenners1 7 років тому +4

      Kate Wagner he is right you can't change your blood pH with food as your body will always be trying to keep it in that desired zone, like it will with temperature and everything else to stay in homeostasis. So you may get hot or cold but your body will always work to keep internal temperature consistent, just like it will with blood pH. If your mum was in ICU they will check for blood pH because of the risk of it going out of the zone, normally due to increased carbon dioxide in the blood which would lead to respiratory acidosis and reduced oxygen saturation, which is really bad for the body

      In my opinion, you would only use diet and alkaline water, reducing stress, and removing electromagnetic smog, to correct pH if it was not within the normal range. Maybe I'm reading your comment incorrectly, but it seems to indicate that someone would do this who is within the range. That's not what I'm referring to. It's when we are too acidic that our inner environment is ripe for conditions to appear.

      Your perception is skewed. Yeah it might be “flesh” but it isn’t rotting for starters. Meat actually digests pretty fast, and the reason it doesn’t digest as fast as other things is because it breaks down slower because we utilise it more efficiently than other forms of food like plants!

We already know that Omega 3 fatty acids are good mate. “Amino acids” are the building blocks of human organic matter. However to lump them in with the Ascorbic acid in cola seems like someone is either tootin barbs or been paid off. Drinking sugary acidic drinks and excess fried foods with saturated fat causes the liver to struggle and ultimately the body DOES begin to shift to a more acidic state. That has nothing to do with your stomach acid. Next you’ll be telling everyone that consuming pesticides with your food with every meal is OK.

    Cancer is very acidic
    Both healthy cells and cancer cells use glucose as their prime energy source. But, for a normal cancer cell, glucose is essential. In a cancer cell the mitochondrial power stations of the healthy cell have run down and switched off. This means that the energy production system lies in the cytoplasm, where in healthy cells glucose is normally processed ready for the mitochondria. A little of the glucose burns in the cytoplasm; nothing like the mitochondrial output. So it´s all very inefficient. And therefore since a cancer cell needs lots of energy to grow, it demands lots of glucose. This process, called glycolysis, is very acidic and cancer tumours have a pH of about 6.2 at their core. You don't know nothing! People stop White sugar and animal protein until the tumors are gone!

      In addition to having an alkaline internal pH it has also been shown that when healthy cells are made excessively alkaline the healthy cells morph in to cancer cells.

      Again misleading. Cancer cells can use glucose, fructose, lactate, ketones, fatty acids and some amino acids as fuel sources. With some cancers lactate, not glucose, is the primary fuel source.
      Marius Copil: "In a cancer cell the mitochondrial power stations of the healthy cell have run down and switched off. "
      You are working with long outdated information from the 1930s!!!!! Get up to date!!!!
      It has been proven that cancer cells, .like healthy cells, use both glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation for energy production. Just different levels. But their use of oxidative phosphorylation makes cancer cells highly dependent on oxygen. In fact cancer cells have a higher affinity for oxygen than healthy cells:

      Marius Copil: "This process, called glycolysis, is very acidic and cancer tumours have a pH of about 6.2 at their core."
      Again not true. Cancer cells have an ALKALINE internal pH. A pH of 6.2 IS NOT alkaline, it is acidic.
      Marius Copil: "You don't know nothing!"
      I think it is pretty clear who really does not know anything. Again, update your research to this century!!!

    i dont think their food chart was misleading at all. When you include the cow milk and fish on the acidic side to insinuate that these are healthy foods, you are making an error. cow milk is not for human consumption, neither is fish. i think the foods on the side of the alkaline dont have an all inclusive list either, so no, i dont think its misleading at all. and even some berries are poisonous. just because its a berry doesnt mean its for us to eat. i may not be articulating my point as well as i want, but i hope you get it anyway. that shit aint good for us.

    The body is acidic that means there's no oxygen in the body, that's when the body starts producing to see is, yeah the main way body keeps alkaline is through carbon dioxide carbonate buffer system, but to say alkaline foods don't increase the alkalinity is a fallacy

    I think you add no value to anyone with this video. Zero. You've done nothing but use a headline to undermine what many, many people are finding to be a very positive approach to better overall health and well being. Of all the "spectacular" claims to challenge, this should have never even been on your radar.
