I want those parts!! I am just getting into the hobby and I have none of those parts and it will take me much longer to figure out what will work with what with out a example!!
4 shoe aluminum clutch setups require more maintenance. Needing to remove the clutchbell often sanding out inside of the clutchbell removing excess shoe material that builds up inside the clutchbell to help further extending life of your shoes....
Hello,,I'm into nitro hobby but not racing & I've been using 3-shoe clutch buying a whole set so i get good fit /i buy same brand of what needs to replace. The set does not include washer or shims that goes in each rod before installing the shoe as you mentioned...so far i don't have any problem/issues without..Is it very important to install them? Also - is pointing clockwise of all shoes the correct way? (tip of shoe towards right ) Thanks again !
Good vid! Have that same clutch on My xray Xb8 2019 with that same engine amazing combo Could you do a video on how to remove a connecting rod springs on a nova engine can’t seem to find any and want to know what’s te easier way with out damaging them or scoring the piston
Oright Rex I had a go at doing some modding myself and to my surprise it seems to have worked out ok I opened the crank timing before I really looked into it so I wasn’t very confident it would be ok its an lrp 32x can you give me some tips of what diff oil weights to use for high powered engines cheers
It reall depends on the car/truck. Normally go a little thicker on the diff oils especially for bashing. If you want it to pull straight in sand or something soft I like to run thick oil in the front. In the middle and rear run lighter oils and it will pull more with the front wheels.
TheRwmods hello 😉I’m just bashing a truggy I’m running 8k-12k-4K at the moment and tyres balloon bad What weights do you think might help me out cheers
Great video Rex, What are your thoughts on the buku bearing cap deal. Also do you polish your cranks inside and out? When you drill and fill a crank what do you use to fill and what angle do you ramp it at? And am I correct in thinking the crank timing and crank in general is where you make the most power? Sorry all the questions but I'm very intent on not letting all this knowledge that you and other OG modders have acquired over the years. Thank you so much and keep putting the videos out for us to learn from.
I like the Buku caps, I will use them on a dusty track. I do not believe in polishing much on an engine, it hurts flow, smooth transitions help. Optimizing crank timing does make the most power. Angle of the silicone does not really matter, adding more does change the case volume a bit.
Nice video keep it going!
The first time I removed a clutch was an absolute nightmare lol. I wish I watched this first

Thanks I understand everything you just said.👍🏾
That clutch tool also has a hook to pull the shoe off

You mean the c lips that hold in the piston pin? I could do a vid on that I guess, I was wanting to make a tool for that but haven't yet.
holding the channel locks backward they bite one way and slip the other
Hello I have a question.. are all 1/8th size clutch bells the same diameter? I know there are different lengths but wasn't sure on diameter
Some ar different, I know the Mugen 3 shoe was always smaller. As far as which ones are the same I don't know.

And a lose part can always be tightened but a stripped screw is always a b!***
On the x-ray the engine is supposed to be not straight.
What do you mean?
@@TechnologyGuy223 the engine is supposed to be mounted at and angle to the spur gear. They are not parallel
@@LawrenceTimme Gotcha, I’ve never really noticed! I’ll have a look 👀
