Wow that brought back some memories when I worked and holidayed on the islands. Didn't do the Langass woods or Hercules bear grave which would have been nice. Visited just about every beach and the ferry trips are always a bonus!
Loved the incredibly atmospheric video Ian, which I’d overlooked, but so glad I caught up with. The wild, seemingly empty landscape makes me want to explore more than we did on our day trip from Uig!
I just love all the emptiness - unspoiled lands - it makes me feel happy ! A lovely video, thank you ! Of course if this area of the world had reliably warm weather there is no way it would stay so empty - those beaches are magnificent. We used to go camping to the extreme west of Wales - below Bangor where it also felt very much like these islands, but not quite so empty, but this video took me back to how much I loved that place & camping when my kids were young ! I can feel those those breezes right now !
If the beach is empty enough to act as an airstrip, it is really not too crowded. This really would be perfect for us. Nice beaches, hiking, and after our last trip the Scottish weather will also be fine. You really peaked our interest in going there.
How short are the winter days, and how long are the summer days . The beaches look amazing, white sand won't burn your feet, somehow I don't think that this is a worry. I'm from Australia we have white sand beaches but not as full of Celtic Aboriginal people.
At Stornoway (Isle of Lewis) on June 21st. first light is at 03.00hrs, last light at 23.50hrs. On December 21st. first light is at 08.20hrs, last light at 16.30hrs. So, long summer days and long winter nights! Thanks for watching 🙏

Hi Veronica! I'm pleased this brought back some happy memories for you. Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to comment. ☺☺👍👍
It was on the reverse trip a good few years ago that, standing alone on the windy side of the ship, I saw a basking shark.
Incredible channel.
Thanks Paul. More adventures in the pipeline 😎
