    Thanks very much for answering a lot of questions in this video. Hard to believe, but this info is more useful than some guy doing wheelies in a city park.

    Excellent, as always. Just rec'd my "street" international version, took off all the stuff you mention, so I am at 192! When transporting I will likely remove the 45lb battery (wow, it's heavy!) I was going to ask you, since I removed the turnsignals the signal indicators on dashboard are flashing .. obviously, the bike knows that "turn signals are not working." Curious if there'd be a way to reset that "error" message? Perhaps I need to plug in some resistors into the bullet connectors where the lights went, maybe?

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  4 місяці тому

      That's interesting. You get an error even when the switch isn't activated? Ours are removed, but haven't had any errors. The dash lights will flash fast when the turn signal switch is activated, but it goes away when cancelled.

      @@StoltecMoto Thank you. I am going to play around a bit, see what I can come up with. I am wondering if disconnecting handlebar turn signal switch cables might help. (I need to find the connection.

      @@StoltecMoto Thanks for the luck! I turned the bike on, hit hazards .. then one turn signal light was flashing.. Hit the turn signals and hazard randomly and voila, no error. I think the computer just had to figure stuff out! Whew!

    Mine is 85kg stripped of all unnecessary items (I'm exclusively off-road). I bought mine in Mongolia in Feb 23. I consider it very light because I came from adventure bikes (BMW R1150GS then Honda Transalp 200kg +) then a Storm Bee 132kg. I appreciate the lightness on technical mountain riding (off-road, off-track). I don't have all the tip overs I used to have on sketchy sections with my Storm Bee although I've still tipped over a few times on the Ultra Bee.
    I only replaced the handguards so far due to smashing them on rocks. I got full-wrap KTM parts which fit perfectly. The plastic ones.
    Overall, I love it except the tires look sufficient traction.

      @@Squeeze.Ronster I'd never thought about that. I suppose I could but I live in Mongolia so it might be expensive to ship them to another country. Can't you just buy them from Surron? It might be cheaper due to shipping costs.

    Hey , what weights about as much as a sur ron but pulls like 3-5 of them put together with an upgraded fardriver controller? My little scooter ! My battery weighs 67 lbls too!

  • @tigerrider6711
    @tigerrider6711 Рік тому

    This is pretty interesting, can you compare it with something like a ktm 150 or yz125 for trail riding? Seems like once you do the 21/18 and real tires, there isn’t as big of a weight advantage anymore.

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  Рік тому

      It might be splitting hairs, but I'll be honest that I was a little disappointed it came in heavier than advertised. It's still super light when you're riding it due to the mass centralization, but it's not insanely light...like the Light Bee.
      I don't have personal experience with a YZ125 or KTM 150. However, I've personally been intrigued by the latter, mostly because it's the closest thing to a spiritual successor you'll get for the retired KTM 200's. But from what I've seen, the 150 winds up being in the neighborhood of about 20 lbs heavier when fully fuelled. That's not a huge weight gain, but I'll happily give up 20 lbs all day long. Of course, the KTM has better suspension and chassis without question. But then there's the price. So yeah, it's really a different class, even if it's subtle.

      I own a ‘22 150xcw- I put 50 hrs on it this year between trail riding, racing a hard enduro, and a couple of sprint enduros. I’m a local A class racer (B for nationals). Yesterday I rode the Ultra Bee. The Ultra was very fun, and WAY better than I expected! That said it was much less powerful than the 150. It felt like half the power- and the math matches that (16 hp vs 40 hp). Ultra Bee was way easier to ride on tight trail. But they are completely different animals. The 150 can go for nearly 4 hours at my skill level on a tank of gas. The Ultra can go about 1 hour. Both are cool, but very different.

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  11 місяців тому

      @@JeffKendallWeed Sounds like your skill level is above that of my own. However, I find it telling that we both only get 1 hour out of it when "on the pipe". Good information.

    It feels lighter than it is. I like the street legal version but those mirrors though....useless. I'm going to supermoto my ultra bee since I bought it to ride the streets.

      Oddly, I find the mirrors to be better than what’s on most street bikes these days. In fact, the UB mirrors were installed on my Hypermotard 939.

    Do you know weight with 21/18 wheels and tires?

    • @StoltecMoto

      Depends on the tire selection, tubes (or tubeliss). See here for our setup: ua-cam.com/video/6BW8wprT7Kc/v-deo.htmlsi=d9l4fEtUZR_fiYI7

    It rides super lightweight compared to my ktm sx 150 with a lot more torque. Never been so fast in single track racing. Wish it had a clutch to modulate power to the back wheel for steep climbs

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  Рік тому

      Agreed that climbs can be tricky. All that torque, all the time, can be tough. Part of the issue is the short wheelbase...

    What crash protection would you use for this bike guys, any ideas ?

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  Рік тому

      Definitely a proper set of wrap around hand guards for starters. Depending on your terrain, maybe a set of brake disc guards. Still running the stock skid plate, on this bike, but will eventually get a more durable unit on there.

    How did you disconnect the rear blinker wires?

    • @StoltecMoto
      @StoltecMoto  Рік тому

      They are just bullet connectors. Hold the metal connectors and pull. They are a tight fit, so needle nose pliers may help.
