No chance paying that money in the UK .One quick call to a friend in China .And he made a call to SUR RON and asked the price per unit on scales of 10 . With shipping to uk and import costs . The bike should easily be £3500 max. That allows a level of profit that is normal .At the current price they are aJOKE
I understand that this method only works in some frames. I had a carbon bike with the Aston Rider kit and I switched it to a bamboo bike in 10 minutes and I didn't have to cut any cables
@ 4:48 you need to mention that the 4 pinch bolts need to loosened before trying to remove the axle. I followed the instruction on this video and ended up scraping my axle pretty bad when I tried to hammer it out with a socket like it was mentioned in the video. The axle comes out very easlily after loosening the pinch bolts.
@@morgy275 Well that wasn't the case for mine. I have deep scratches on my axle to prove it. Not every bike was assembled exactly the same. There's slight differences so it's better to err on the side of caution instead of assuming they're all loose like yours.
@IAmA Turdle Well the 200+ bikes I have assembled all have been loose... You can also clearly see the bolts are not done up and the axle was pushed out by hand.. If you scratched your axle due to excessive force and had tight pinch bolts then maybe you should get someone else to work on your bike! ;-) If something isn't moving then check rather than forcing it out...
@@morgy275 No need to be snarky Marky. I'm simply putting this out there to help prevent this from happening to anyone else. The video specifically stated that the axle might need to be pushed out with a socket bit. Sure, I might not be some master mechanic that has assembled 200+ bikes, but I'm no idiot either. I followed the directions in the video to a T. Because of a slight variation in factory assembly, my pinch bolts happened to be tighter than most. I figured this out after a few strikes with a mallot and socket bit. After I loosened the pinch bolts, the axle slid right out with a push of my finger.
What is the rate of this in india is this available in india as home delivery ? What is the price of this in indian currency ?is this available in ujjain mp
You don't need to torque the bolts to the brake levers and handlebars! Lol. Another thing, when you are using an extension, that's going to change the torque slightly.
Hi, ive been told by my surron dealer that if i ask for the pedal kit. It limits my use to Eco mode, because of the smaller sprocket. Is that true? Is there a workaround around this because this makes the pedal system totally trash imo
mark morgan so basically i need to get the pedal kit and get an extended chain to keep the 48t? Id just have a hard time pedaling right with this setup? (which is not a problem, I just want it to be legal)
The information supplied from Sur-Ron UK about the Pedal Kit is as follows: Official Sur-ron kick pedal system conversion kit. Allows for independent power application from throttle or through pedals. Please note the kit is designed for machines with restricted power and speed ie 25kmph or 15 mph as a EAPC (Electrically assisted pedal cycle) and therefore has a very small rear sprocket to match. If you use the small rear sprocket in the kit and the bike is used in full power mode with large throttle openings at low speed then it can cause serious damage to the motor internals. So we recommend that if you want full power/speed with the pedal kit fitted then DO NOT fit the small rear sprocket supplied with the kit, but retain your original 48T standard sprocket
Without getting into large legality debates...the use of the large sprocket would increase the speed of the bike outside of the EAPC restrictions. I've borrowed this quote from CyclingWeekly.com "The UK legislation was harmonised with EU law EN15194 in April 2015, which means that it could change as Brexit takes effect. But for now it’s pretty clear in defining what can - and what cannot - be called an ebike. Your steed is an “electrically assisted pedal cycle” (or EAPC, or ebike, or Pedelec) if: the bike has pedals that propel it; the electric motor won’t assist you when you’re travelling more than 25 km/h (15.5mph); and the power doesn’t exceed 250 watts. The cycles that meet these requirements (which affect two-wheeled bikes but also tandems and tricycles) can be ridden on any cycle paths and anywhere else that bikes are normally allowed. You may find off-road bikes that can go faster than 15.5 mph by flicking a switch, but for UK law these are not compliant with EAPC regulations for on-road use. If your ebike doesn’t meet these regulations - either because the motor is more powerful than 250W, or if it assists you when you’re riding more than 15.5 mph - it will need to be registered, insured and taxed as a motor vehicle. In this case, you will also need a driving licence, and you must wear a motorcycle helmet. From January 1 2016, the only throttles legal within the UK’s EAPC legislation are those that assist the rider without pedalling up to a maximum speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) - i.e. starting assistance only. If the rider is rolling - but not pedalling - faster than 6km/h, the throttle cuts off. If the cyclist pedals at the same time then the throttle can still assist up to the general limit of 15.5mph." Simply put...the Sur-Ron motor is more than 250w and the throttle would give more than "starting assistance"...so there is still a chance you could get in trouble for riding this outside of privately owned land. To be safe and legal on the road, we recommend the road legal L1E version which retails for just £300 more at the moment.

The Pinch bolts come already loose on the DNM forks from the factory so there is no need loosen them so their description is correct...
