@@annieo6527 for Brooke the chase is always more exciting than the actual capture (with the only exception being Ridge bc that capture has been always elusive.)
@@annieo6527Excellent point, and one that is amply evidenced by the fact that by the end of 2002, Brooke is disgusted by Deacon, and his chasing her basically makes him look like a predator.
Anyone remember the scene when Bridgette, a youngster slapped Brooke and said she was a terrible mother? How true that is. Ridge cared about the reputation of the e company, but in 2024 they brought back Brooke's Bedroom
Deacon's getting sleazier by the day. He's at Don Jr levels now. Amazing how proximity to Brooke sapped his character of what initially made him entertaining.
The scene with Massimo and Ridge reminded me of the way Taylor and Stephanie discussed their different life philosophies - accepting reality vs changing reality - as *Nick* pointed out in one of the early seasons. Massimo aligns himself (and Ridge) with Stephanie as a believer in creating the reality you want, and talks about the other Forresters the same way that Taylor presented her standpoint when she was trying to counseI Stephanie about her divorce and trying to make her accept her new reality. But Massimo is crediting Ridge with agency that he _doesn't actually have._ Ridge has never been an active Storyteller but rather an object for women to win. Even now, he is not actually driving the plot but rather reacting to circumstances created by Massimo.
Great catch Annie and thanks for the shoutout! Yes, in the early seasons this show had a nice range of characters who were *Realists* accepting the world as it was (Taylor and Connor), *Dreamers* who could see a different world but didn't always know how to get there (Ridge and Brooke) and *Storytellers* who had the skill to make their dreams a reality (Stephanie and Sheila). And it seems Massimo is in the last group which is why it makes sense that he will be connected to Stephanie _and_ Sheila. And to anyone who's curious, Annie is referring to a scene between Stephanie and Taylor in episode 1125, after Stephanie had forged the letter from Eric, allowing Ridge and Brooke to be together. Taylor said she was a psychiatrist because she believed you "worked things out" in therapy, meaning you ultimately accept the world as it is and try to live in it. But then on her way out the door, Stephanie says, "I believe you _make_ things happen" which indicates her different philosophy of life. She doesn't just accept the world as it is and instead tries to remake it into a world that's more acceptable to her. And that wasn't the only scene where Stephanie and Taylor expressed their different philosophies. Earlier in episode 1093, Taylor was encouraging Stephanie to accept her divorce and move on and she said Stephanie needed a plan. Taylor meant "plan to go on with life" but Stephanie misinterpreted it as "plan to get Eric back." The earlier seasons has so many wonderful philosophical scenes and dialogue like this!
