Yeah, I had a 5900x + 3090 and could have either upgrade just the GPU to a 4090, or go with 9800x3d + 4080. I went with the latter and it definetely gave much higher 1% fps, and a better experience even at 4k.
Okay, this is interesting to a point, however there's not really any comparison between a 5600X 6 Core and the latest and greatest 9800X 3D with all that cpu cache. What might have been a more relevant clip,at least from a generational standpoint, the still available in stores 5700X 3D - As the 5800X 3D is no long available. Comparing the 5700X 3D vs the 9800X 3D Same cores and similar cache on the Same AM4 vs AM5 socket motherboards as used in the clip. I'd be way more interested in that comparison, from an upgrade standpoint. Games FPS vs Cost to Upgrade where is the value and % difference. What could i be missing out on with an AM4 CPU Upgrade vs entire motherboard and CPU upgrade, how much am i spending on that and what will i get in return in value % increase. Or would the AM4 upgrade be good enough for now to cover a few more years and be worth it. Perhaps even hold out to AM6 as value stand point. Depending on FPS targets vs $ vs upgrade value point. This would be more value as viewer knowledge standpoint. If you have already a 5700X 3D vs a 9800X 3D If you haven't done so already, I would suggest you do that as content. Perhaps even a 7800X 3D comparison vs the 5700X 3D, even tho that has in all likelihood already been done. if you label the contents name as "in 2025" so tis fresh and New for the Year. On higher resolutions the GPU will have to work harder so CPU becomes less of a bottleneck. However, I think it’s because a B550 chipset based motherboard was used. This was designed more for office use. The link between the chipset and CPU is limited to PCI-e 3.0 x4. Think an 570 chipset based motherboard (PCI-e 4.0 x16) will have provided different results.

Not an entity accurate test. The 5600x was running on a B550 chipset rather than the higher performing 570 AM4 chipset.
