Thanks so much, I'm so glad you're here!♡♡
What an amazing looking dinner! Rabbit is a very healthy meat!! Thank you! God bless!
It's a good thing it's a healthy meat, we love it!!♡♡
I made rabbit a few times this week for lunches and remembered all over how much I love it.
Every time we have had chicken in the last 6 weeks trying to clear out the freezers the kids say how much they prefer rabbit. We all do!
Got 2 wild rabbits this morning. Going to try your recipe tomorrow. Thank you for sharing!
Enjoy!!
I like the idea of using bone broth with flour! Definitely better nutrition than canned cream of whatever lol
Yes!
Better to use beef or chicken broth?
Looks so delicious. YUMMY 😋
Thanks Nollie!♡♡
Oh yummy! We prefer rabbit stew in colder months..I will be adding this recipe to our menu! Thanks!
You're so welcome!
I haven't had rabbit n a long time, ours was always wild rabbits. But this looked so yummy. Now that my brother has had both knees replaced, it's time for him to hit the woods. I don't know anyone round here that has rabbits. Thanks for yet another good video, I look forward to seein yours. God bless y'all ❤️ from Indiana
Thanks for being here!! I hope you get to have rabbit again soon!♡
Yummy
Omigosh that looks delicious! Thanks for sharing! 😋 Blessings, Robin & Matt
Thank you and thanks for watching! ♥
Tried this tonight, hadn't eaten rabbit in 35 years or so, it was fantastic! I'm glad I happened across your video, which was the first to pop up in my search, great instruction, easy to follow, and a great result!
YAY Congratulations!! We had rabbit again tonight. Similar to this but it was homemade cream of mushroom soup :) I'm so glad you loved it!
I really appreciate how educational your videos are. I always learn so much!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad the videos are helpful!
That looks delicious!! Another plus is that it looks super simple!!! Thank you for sharing another great recipe!!! Stay safe!!
Thank you! You too!
As always I love your videos! Thank you for your hard work in bringing excellent content to us 🤍
Thanks so much, Tammy!!❤️
Thanks for sharing, I love rabbit, But not many areas you can get it around here. Certain time of year to hunt them. My brother gives me one once in awhile to cook up, but then I have to have him over for supper. I guess that is a fair trade off.
Haha that does sound like a fair trade!♡
Looks delicious, thanks for the video ✌🏽
Thanks for watching! ♡
I am making this tonight I did the whole rabbit with 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 can water, 1/2 can milk, and 1 pack of brown gravy mix. In crockpot now will come back for update later.
My vote is that it will be amazing! Looking forward to hearing what you think of it!
Thanks!
Wow, Thank you so much!
We tried this last night with two rabbits. You are correct that it literally falls off the bone. It was incredible! Thanks for sharing this method of cooking the rabbits!
Yay I'm so happy you tried it and loved it!!♡♡ thanks for sharing!
Yep. Cooking this on Saturday. Thanks!
Enjoy!! :)
Tried this recipe today and it was really good! Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you liked it!!
This looks great! I've still got two rabbits that we didn't use in February. I'm going to try this tomorrow. Thanks for the great recipe!!
You're so welcome! Enjoy!!
Definitely trying this recipe!
Enjoy!!♡♡
Hey Heather, I love how you use everything and aren't wasteful, even keeping left overs! The meal looks so yummy!
Thank you!!!
Look so delicious ❤
It was! Thanks for watching!♡
Good job Lady, it was just awsome. So basic yet so good. Here is a tip for Xmas
I appreciate you so much! Thank you!
Yum! That looks so good!
Thanks, it was very good!♡
So what’s the ingredients you use for the gravy?
Bone broth and Italian seasonings with flour to thicken it up. It's a basic gravy but so good.
I just found your videos and must say you are so enjoyable to watch! We just got started in meat rabbits. Our 2 does each had a litter of 7 a little over a week ago. Your videos have been so helpful!
I'm so glad!! Welcome to the channel and congrats on the good sized litters!!!❤️
I’m also so excited to see i can make bone broth for later. $6 a quart for good broth without antibiotics or other sketchy ingredients. Thank you so much for all your suggestions and teaching us techniques to be more self sufficient for our nutrition. God bless you and your family. Though many have chickens goats cows or pigs around me. Rabbit is difficult to find had to order from a bison ranch in Wisconsin. It’s also not a popular choice. Many vegans here from California too. So i have a very small community of people that are helpful and supportive. I’m thinking of selling the hay and poop for gardens too. Adds up quickly with the bedding. 😳🤷♀️ but they don’t stink like many other livestock
You'll be able to sell the manure easily!! That's a great way to recoup costs!
Me looking for a quick rabbit recipe and finding this. "hmm..I think I have a can of cream of something soup!" I added chicken broth, mushrooms and will toss in some pearl onions later. It's on low now and looking I'm forward to it!. Thanks!
I hope you enjoy!!! We made it for the millionth time last night! :)
very cool, i give it a try next week for sure
Thank you ❤ Iove eating rabbits
Veggie tales in the background for the win
Haha thanks!!
Definitely trying this one👍🏼
Enjoy! :)
Great recipe!!❤
Thank you!♡
Looks amazing...
It's very good and easy!!
That looks great!
Thank you!!
I made this last night, and it is absolutely amazing! It is now my favorite rabbit recipe. The leftovers today I plan to make some kind of soup out of; any advice on how to do that or what to put in it?
Make a soup with rice , the leftover rabbit, lemon juice and greens. So cozy!
@@SageandStoneHomestead Thank you! I love your channel. You’re down to earth and straight to the point.
Hi heather my husband thinks I’m barbaric to grow rabbits to eat. Cooking it Sunday or Monday. I’m new to rabbits but ive cooked antelope, venison, duck (yuck) dove and bison. I’m excited to grow my own meat. Groceries are insanely expensive where i am in northern Arizona. 😢I’m praying its tasty. I haven’t eaten it in 35 years. So I figured I better try it before i breed my bunnies 😊
Good call! Rabbit is delicious, and I don't like duck either!
Once I fried rabbit and it was tough. This sounds much better. So the rabbit takes on the flavors because it is mild.
I want to learn how to properly fry rabbit!! We have never done it!
@@SageandStoneHomestead I grew up with rabbits in the freezer. the best age for a firing rabbit is around 8 weeks of age for they are still tender.
@@manacat1100 thank you!
Would one large can of Creak of whatever dromedary the store be enough or one small can? Thanks
Yes! You can do one small can!
🙏😎
Do you have to part the rabbit or could you do it whole?
You can do it whole ! It's a little fiddly when it's all cooked so it might fall apart on you
Just put this recipe in the crock pot.. 8hr update to come lol
I look forward to hearing what you think!! :)
Almost forgot to come back to this..
The rabbit was amazing ill definetly be doing this alot more often.. so simple and easy no pre-grilling or braising them..
This recipe is 👌👍
Do you take the bones out? I had it once. It was good but there were too many bones.
They fall out very easily when cooked correctly.
Will this work for eastern cottontail rabbit?
Yes!
After I get it canned and put away how would I use it? Do I just pull it out and dump the jar into the crockpot? I wanna send my mom a jar of rabbit for her to try with this recipe, just not sure how to have her do it
After it is canned it's fully cooked and you would use it like you would use any cooked shredded chicken. You'll have to de-bone before use but the bones fall right out of the meat.
@@SageandStoneHomestead ok cool so for the recipe above in the video how would I do that as it's already cooked? Just do it it the same and only slow cook for 2 hours instead
This wouldn't work well for canned rabbit. Canned rabbit falls apart really easily and you'd just have a mess of meat and bones if you cooked it again. If you wanted to make a similar sauce and pour over the de-boned canned rabbit and heat in the oven or microwave until warm you could do that!
Could I use chicken broth instead of bone broth?
Yes absolutely!
does this work with wild rabbits? Like Cottontails?
Yes!
How do you make your bone broth?
Nevermind 😂 I got it ❤ sorry I got excited before finishing up the video. Yum 😋 thank you!! New follower here !!
Hello and welcome!!!
Did you say you eat your goats? Do you have any videos on goat meat? Do you butcher it yourself ? Compare to lamb meat? How do you cook it? We have had goats for years but never ate any. But want to try it. Just don’t want to waste a goat if we don’t like it.
It's a lot like lamb!! We love it, a lot. We cook it using recipes found online for goat or use it like venison or beef and we have yet to be disappointed!! Roasted goat shoulder is one of our favorites. I do have a video on goat butchering day but it's not a teaching video, more of a "why we do this" video. It's called "why we eat the animals we love". Let me know if you can't find it!
How much did the rabbit weigh
Our rabbits are 5-6lbs live weight and 2.5 to 3lbs after processing
I wonder if this would work with Squirrel
It would!♡
you make bone brothh. have you ever heard of portable soup?
I have!! I have made it before and stored it in the fridge in little strips. I never did get it to be dry enough where I was comfortable storing at room temp. I want to try it again but I feel like I need to order fruit leather trays for my dehydrator!
I was raised eating rabbit but I can’t get my husband to let me raise them.
Oh man!! I'm sorry!
Has anyone tried this in an instant pot?
You could do this in an instant pot, you'd just want to expect the rabbit to be VERY tender and fall off the bone.
Do older male rabbits taste bad?
No they do not! We have only noticed that testosterone makes them harder to skin, but it does not affect the meat at all.
