So the idea Bret had about his feud with Shawn was the blueprint for Shawn vs Jericho feud in 2008 which eventually won feud of the decade of 2000s

Clearly this started with Bret and his old school values. I think theee was also a feud with them and Sunny too but neither one will ever discuss that for obvious reasons
Well I reason that sunny thing through like this.

Shawn did her but he was a druggie at the time and so was she.

I think that was a storyline because the man Brett was in real life probably wouldnt touch the type of person Sunny was. And sadly still is.

This is definitely before 2020. Jim Cornette is there and he has been busy with his podcast lately. I'm guessing this is around 2017 or so.

The iron man match should have ended 2-1 hbk. Bret was leaving anyways to rest and do tv. Why would bret agree to this finish?
The ending was perfect. It gave him a chip on his shoulder since he felt like he got screwed with that over time finish.

it actually is considering brets looming heel turn. it would've been cool to see bret become that kind of dangerous ken shamrock style loose cannon with a new kind of hold. I could see bret doing a legit armpit style ankle lock on the ground and shawn breaking kayfabe on purpose and saying to the ref "get him off me he's breaking my ankle" and then shawn doing his best to sell a legit injury with the ref calling for the bell cause Shawn's hurt. then being helped to the locker room and bret attacks him from behind. it actually gets shawn more over as a baby face and gives him time to go away for a while without having to use the lost smile excuse

What you didn't hear was the resolution, which is what Bret has also mentioned elsewhere. This was match 2/3. The third would have been the rubber match where he would have put Shawn over for the belt. The idea was to make everyone believe that there was real heat between the two, even the guys in the back. This clip is missing the full context of the story they were telling.

Seems cool idea really, because in the third match at the next wrestlemania Shawn finally earns his respect and he drops the title to him as he later states. The shoot is to show that he had problems with him and that he didn’t respect him not being a legit tough guy
