Amazing! I think I'm in batch 2. This thing is a work of art and seeing as how I'm obsessed with the 1989 Batman movie, I can't wait to get this in my hands. They spared no expense and no detail was overlooked. A masterpiece. The one thing that's jumping out at me is that the wheels look more gold than gun metal. I'm wondering if that's just a effect of the harsh lighting because it doesn't seem right to me. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned about the wheels. Everything else looks perfect. The only thing better would be to have one of the screen used cars.
This is a center piece to a collection. Keystone if you will. Joost mentioned trying to make a moveable cockpit cover, with hydraulics, but the costs were way too much to justify on the final production model. Not for me, due ti size and weight, but this is a magnificent beauty. A true grail piece for a 89 Batman fans collection. Hats off to Jazzinc for the final product and hats off to you Justin for this review.

I grew up with the Classic TV Batman Show, and I continue to say that the 66 Batmobile is my all-time favorite of them all. I acknowledge that the JazzInc 1/6th scale 89 Batmobile has raised the bar to near PERFECTION. I love the JazzInc 66 DX Batmobile, and I am fortunate to have a "perfect" one or two! Fact is, I have all of the JazzInc 1/6th Batmobiles, each of which are "works of art" in their on right. My 89 was perfect right out of the box and I totally agree with your subject review. I do have a couple of observations where improvements could make this extraordinary piece even better! Fit and finish is flawless on mine. The attention to scale and accuracy is most evident. Each and every minor detail, especially within the cockpit appears flawless. To a serious collector, the JazzInc 89 Batmobile is akin to a Grade of "70" for a collectible coin, a "PSA Grade of 10.0" for a baseball card, a "Gem Mint 10" in Comic Books, and in other passion of mine; a "Classic" 95+ Points for a premium Cigar. Certainly, the lighting and "smoke" effects are magnificent on the 89. My negative issues are better described as "weakest strengths", namely with the apparent low quality of the 4 sound effects... I feel the overall presentation would benefit greatly, had there been multiple narrative sound clips providing insight into some of the specific design elements, specifications, and history of the actual movie car. The voice over on such audio comments could have been masterfully done by Joost himself. The accompanying Exclusive 89 Book was an excellent touch. Thank You to Joost and his entire team on this masterpiece! Best to all, Harry
Thanks for watching Harry. This is overall a phenomenal vehicle. However this is a review on a released product, I am by no means a movie car historian but I do deeply admire the Batmobile from the movie and the teams responsible for its creation. I appreciate the feedback however I won't be adding any other commentary to my reviews in the future.
I’m not a dc fan but the 1989 Batman is one of my favourite films of all time. And this Batmobile has remained unbeaten to me as the best super hero vehicle ever made. As a kid I just couldn’t get over this car. I’d make models of hit. Buy tiny metal versions. Draw it. Man this thing is a DREAM. I have the UCS Lego version mounted on my wall alongside the batwing. It’s a great piece but unfortunately to have it shipped to Australia and with all the taxes attached it becomes too expensive for most, the hot toys version satisfies me enough but the jazz inc version is far more superior. Great review Justin.

Amazing work Jazzinc! A great review too Justin. Mine is fully paid off now so hopefully will see it here in Australia by end of the year. It'll certainly be a rare collectible in my neck of the woods. I sold my Hot Toys a couple of months ago within a day (I had the original release and still had the box). Probably my most antipcated collectible of all time besides my Master Replicas Millennium Falcon back in around 2007.
What a beast! Waiting mine to arrive, thank you for the sneak peek! Would have loved a turn all on button though. Also I think you forgot to share about the turbine?
It's definitely an awesome piece, however I'm surprised they didn't make the mechanism to pop out/flip open the guns on the hood. They could have done it in the same way that Kenner did in 1990. It's great as a display piece and obviously, it's not meant to be a "toy", but some automation mechanisms would have been really nice, especially for the price and what can be done these days.
@@torquetheprisoner sure, but there are still differences like the paint, its straight black vs the tinge of green/blue of 89. Also the little "Christmas Ornament" device that was used to take control of the batmobile can be included, as well as an image of the Penguin on the display screen. Also can change the soundboard to play clips from "returns" as well. May take away the rotating turbine feature just to keep it exclusive to 89. Im sure there are more changes that could be made to reissue it without calling it a reissue.
As someone who primarily collects 1/18 cars and aviation diecast both civil and military, and especially 1/72 fighter jets - I would love nothing more than a large (say 1/32) F-14 Tomcat in super-detailed metal construction and moving parts, so seeing this Jazz Inc creation makes more more than a little jealous! I would love to have them give the same love and care treatment to the Tomcat, which would also allow them to do many releases given there are dozens of aircraft that existed with many squadrons and schemes. In the military aviation diecast space we are sorely missing a company bold enough to do diecast models at scales larger than 1/72 for the large fighter jets - so c'mon Jazz Inc perhaps you can take up that challenge? Tomcat collectors would go crazy and even if the price were to be high I am sure the models would be quickly sold out like this Batmobile.
That would be awesome. Off-topic but what do you think of Calibre Wings? I bought their Need For Speed F-14 a while back. I like it but I'm not familiar enough with the Diecast aviation model world to know how good their quality is compared to other companies.
@@ron5545 Calibre's F-14 is generally regarded as the best diecast representation, however in my opinion while it is good, it is far from great, held back mainly by its poor wing angle. Instead of the proper anhedral the real aircraft have the wings appear horizontal or even a slight dihedral. That does ruin the classic drooping wings appearance of the Tomcat. However we should also keep in mind no diecast model or indeed any model is perfect, so we learn to accept the flaws big and small. That said - having a premium scale (1:32 for example) and all-metal Tomcat with a high level of detail would be incredible, and at this size there would be even less room for flaws and shape/proportions inaccuracies. Waiting for the day some diecast manufacturer chooses to produce the Tomcat in such a large scale!
@@UzairW Interesting. Thanks for the in-depth response! Now that you mention it, you're right about the wings. Is there a particular squadron you'd like to see in that 1:32 scale? I'm guessing if it did get made, a Top Gun version is what we'd likely see.
@@ron5545 Nah - Top Gun would be the last version I'd want for Tomcat models, since it is a fictional craft. Real world squadrons are much cooler, and my first picks would be the squadrons with super-cool insignia: Pukin Dawgs, Aardvarks, Black Knights, Tomcatters. Most people however would want the Jolly Rogers squadron first 😉 Don't get me wrong about Top Gun, the second movie Maverick in particular is one of my alltime favorite movies and I love everything about it, however as a model collector I always prefer real subject matter over fictional ones.
Thanks for the detailed review! Regardless if you have this on PO, it’s gotta be one of the most anticipated releases this year. I can’t help thinking that a comparison between the JazzInc and Hot Toys version was a missed opportunity. As well, maybe it’s just me but did I notice some areas of orange peel in the paint? Can you confirm either way?
Most impressive Batmobile replica I ever seen. I never did understand why the batmobile had "shin-breakers". Only reason would be to plough through a crowd!
well that looks amazing! but for that amount of money i want electric guns that pop out with light and sound and also a electric canopy, and maybe they should make it drivable do you think its better then the hot toys ?
At the 1:16 mark is the canopy fully closed and properly aligned? It appears too small on the sides against the main body. At 1:26, the canopy is totally misaligned with the roof line, and there's a big gap between it and the main body, while at the front it appears flush. Is it too small for the body, or just pushed down too 'deep' and not closed properly so it lines up?
The canopy being misaligned with the roof was a major mistake by JazzInc on these early versions. However, they fixed it by adding some silicon "boot" pieces that fit over the pegs that are on each side of the canopy and rest on a shelf down inside the body to both achieve the correct height for the canopy and help it slide more smoothly when moving the canopy forward and backwards. JazzInc made multiple production changes to correct some of the issues (like the misaligned canopy) that were present on these early versions that were sent out to reviewers. Another issue was the M1919s not staying in the raised position. They added some sort of ratchet mechanism to each gun in order to keep the 1919s raised without them just immediately falling back down into the fenders. JazzInc uploaded a video on their YT page going over all of the issues that were fixed after these early production vehicles went out to reviewers. Them fixing these issues...ESPECIALLY the misaligned canopy, which is totally unacceptable on a vehicle that costs more than $1,500...is what convinced me to stay on the waitlist in the hopes of getting a chance to buy one. And, thankfully, I just got my waitlist opportunity to buy one a few days ago! If they hadn't fixed these issues, I would not have bought one.
I canceled my hot toys batmobile for this and I'm so glad I did. It's fully paid off and it can't get here soon enough. My only concern is once it's here, I won't have enough room to display it with the upcoming 1968 batmobile from Jazzinc. But I guess that's a future Aaron problem. Justin you are so lucky to get this in advance.
I'm in awe and I'm not even a Batman collector, but I'm on the waitlist. It's just hard not to appreciate what this represents in terms of the efforts by an independent company to recreate a screen automotive icon. By the way, how quickly did it sell out online when it was initially open for orders?
Great review! Only thing I noticed is that you mentioned you were going to go back to the turbine engine and you didn't bring it up again. I was wondering about the sound the motor makes to make the turbine spin and was hoping to see it in action. Either way, loved the review!
Good review, I was waiting for it!, I already finished my payments and I can’t wait to have it at home, the only thing that I don’t like it’s the color of the wheels, I guess Joost made his homework and is color accurate and maybe I’m just used to see them in aluminum, like in the 1/18 hotwheels batmobile

It'll certainly be a rare collectible in my neck of the woods. I sold my Hot Toys a couple of months ago within a day (I had the original release and still had the box). Probably my most antipcated collectible of all time besides my Master Replicas Millennium Falcon back in around 2007.
Thank you! You're going to love it when it gets here!
Love your content and your channel and your videos
Thank you!
What a beast! Waiting mine to arrive, thank you for the sneak peek! Would have loved a turn all on button though. Also I think you forgot to share about the turbine?
My pleasure! Yeah the turbine can be seen spinning later in the video and I mention it a few times as a neat pro for this over hot toys
Oh that would have been sick but probably very complicated to do!
Man, probably the only 1/6th car I will be getting just because of its size. Looks incredible. I just can't wait.
Fair!
In my opinion the 1966 batmobile is the best one by far, I hope someone make that one in 1/6 scale sometimes
JAZZINC made one. They are taking preorders for the 1968 model as well or they were.
Ah that one is a masterpiece too
Had to pass this one up :-( Need to sort out my collection space before I add big pieces like this. Its a beauty!
Get that space ready!
The eBay prices on these are gonna be INSANE!!!!!...wow
Until the "Returns" version is released in a few years
@@PedroLopez-cy1kl but it has the reaturns features al ready cos of the shin brakers and the batdisks
Joost already said he's not making the 92 version..
@@PedroLopez-cy1klthey're not making a returns version this is kind of both the first and second one combined !
Most people however would want the Jolly Rogers squadron first 😉
Don't get me wrong about Top Gun, the second movie Maverick in particular is one of my alltime favorite movies and I love everything about it, however as a model collector I always prefer real subject matter over fictional ones.
Oh jeez that thing would be absolutely huge!
Will there be a side-by-side comparison video with the Hot Toys Batmobile?
Maybe!
My pleasure! I didn't notice any orange peel, it could be the way the light bounced off it, looks perfect in person
This batmobile is 🥶🥶👍
Cold as ice!
Damn, it looks amazing. I'm so sad I had to cancel my preorder of this one, it really hurts...
Ah no!
i wish u close all lights in your studio in end part to show us all lights show of bat mobile in the dark it would be amazing
Ah damn! Next time!
Just a word of advice to use distilled or purified water for the vapor effect so there's no scale buildup inside the mechanism
Noted!
looks fantastic. i stay with the hot toys one tho. im not willing to spend double the price for the jazzinc one
All good!
Justin do you have the 2.0 Batmobile or is it a rerelease because I don’t know.
Not yet, still waiting for mine
Most impressive Batmobile replica I ever seen. I never did understand why the batmobile had "shin-breakers". Only reason would be to plough through a crowd!
Same! It's dope. Can't deny the coolness of those shin breakers though lol
Nice review! Hope to see you unbox the forthcoming BTAS batmobile from JazzInc some day
Thank you! I would love to do that one!
What’s the consensus… Do we like this more than Hot Toy??? I wonder what Danoby will say lol Great review Justin.
I do personally
2 Michael Keaton vids in a row, nice
You're right I just noticed that haha
You are so lucky!!!@! I have 300 more dollars to go before mine is paid off😂 but I'm not sure where im going to put this massive piece of art.
Same as me, $300 left and im geekin out....might just say F it, pay it off...geeesh
I have a few left.... I literally don't know where I'm parking this thing... I literally don't care! Lol
Awesome, not far off then!
Hey just wanna let you know your my 3000th liked video congrats
Awesome! Thank you!
WOW! Such an awesome piece. I have the OG Ecto-1, so I'll definitely compare once I get mine in hand. This might be the best 1/6 vehicle ever made.
Oh that thing is a beast too!
I would’ve liked to see the Batman figure inside the Batmobile
Sorry I love my '89 batman figures I wasn't going to ruin them by getting them in sitting poses. You can try that though!
It would be fun if they replace the vapor generator with the actual exhaust afterburner
Lol
well that looks amazing! but for that amount of money
i want electric guns that pop out with light and sound
and also a electric canopy, and maybe they should make it drivable
do you think its better then the hot toys ?
I do think it is
Wasn’t there a Batman Forever Batmobile Released by Jazzinc?
Also you’re the best!
Yes sir
@@JazzIncdioramas This Rocks!
Yep! Review on the channel!
Sorry that must have been me not doing it right, I didn't notice when filming but then again this was a very long shoot!
@JustinsCollection cool, can you please check it and confirm if you can close it and have it properly aligned at the top and the sides?
No regrets i canceled my hot toys too!😂 This video proves I did the right thing getting the Jazzinc 89 Batmobile!😁😁
Yeah I don't blame you!
I'm in awe and I'm not even a Batman collector, but I'm on the waitlist. It's just hard not to appreciate what this represents in terms of the efforts by an independent company to recreate a screen automotive icon. By the way, how quickly did it sell out online when it was initially open for orders?
So worth it!
to my surprise i snagged one off the waitlist for March delivery today 😳😳😳🤩🤩🤩🙀🙀🙀 (ordered the sitting Batman too they offer)
Joost for the win!
He killed it!
I have the Hot Toys version, and I thought that was huge.
Yeah this is bigger!
Justin, no one will blame you if you flat out cancel the Hot Toys 89 Batmobile after this video.
Haha considering it!
After review justin will sell the hot toys
Can't wait!
Noice
This is sick!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Do you also have the Batman Forever Batmobile review?
Thank you! I sure do!
I wonder if there is anyone out there bold enough to transform this into an RC Batmobile
Oh that would be sick!
A absolute Masterpiece 👍🏽 Love it ❤
It is!
Great review! Only thing I noticed is that you mentioned you were going to go back to the turbine engine and you didn't bring it up again. I was wondering about the sound the motor makes to make the turbine spin and was hoping to see it in action. Either way, loved the review!
Ah yes, I did mention it later as a pro over the hot toys one but long story short, it spins and does make a little noise
It's beyond perfection but how is it powered ? with a battery or via an electric wire ?
DC Powered :)
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!
STUNNING!
It is!
Thank you! I will take good haha
our color is accurate. It's really dark bronze, not aluminium
You didn’t really address the issue with the noise level of the spinning turbine. Would like to know if it was resolved.
That's because I don't really think it's an issue. It's a fan and servo its going to make a noise
Everything with a rotating motor is noticeably noisy.. its just one of those "issues" one has to accept.
Hello Justin sir much appreciated video u deserved 🎉😊
Thank you!
