About to start on my 91 SSP and I’ve been stewing about all the trim. It’s not really beat up, but was really badly painted by the last owner. This was a massive help and I’ll probably be back to watch it a dozen more times before I take that on.
@@417fox my mirrors have some pitting from these nasty little creatures we call love bugs. Would you recommend high build primer or a light coat of that glaze?
Has anyone did a video of restoration while on the car? You can easily put 3x5 or playing cards behind the rubber trim between the paint so it doesn’t get messed up or bleed through.
finally Getting to the point where I need to get my windows ready for my resto. I came back to this video for the products you used. Thanks for sharing this process. Where you able to retain the factory line that"s cut into the top portion on the rubber?
@@417fox OK Thanks for getting back to me. Its already kinda faint just from years in the sun but figured Id try to same it if I could. Did you repair your front-end after your deer incident?
Knocked it outta the park ....as usual bro!👍 I just noticed that 417Fox is just one subscriber short of 417! LOL. Come on guys and gals.. give the man some subscribes for all of his hard work!!
My question is if you buy a new roof rails from LMR and the outside door belt molding do you need to paint that with the sem trim paint or does it already come ready to put on
Looks good man! I just finished restoring my 92 5.0 LX hatch and did this same method on my quarter windows and trim. Turned out great. Feel free to check out the reveal video on my channel if you like. Keep up the great content. Subbed!
Great video. Subscribed.
Amazing A+

Im gonna try this! It could save me buying new quarters before my paint job.
Just subscribed and looking to do this to my 92 fox this spring/summer without a garage
I wish I had heat in the garage to knock this project out. Great Video!
It is super nice for sure!
This is the one I've been looking for. 👍
Good deal! I hope it helps you out. 👌🏼👊🏻

07bluelbz you can use some glaze but you will need a primer to seal up the glaze before paint
@@07bluelbz You must be in Florida my man,I feel your pain, lol.

Awesome video as usual my brother
I hope to own a hatch one day. Good vid
I love them all but I have always been partial to the look of the hatch.
Looks like some ROH wheels on the Fox!
I have a set of mint ROH Snypers on my 93 RBM Coupe.
Yes sir. ROH ZS. They went to a new home though
@@417fox Weren't there only three or four styles for ROH wheels?
Lol I brought mine right out of the back pages of MM&FF!
Good stuff. I’ll be hitting my vert soon
Sean Sweeney heck yeah!

I barely have any molding left to sand
Does it come with a Hardner?
Yes
Nice work,looks good 👍
Excellent!
What's the skinny on the black plastic inserts in the trim pieces? Can they be discarded or should they be replaced? Mine were falling apart.
Not sure what you are referring to
@@417fox I think it was the rear and/or front windshield trim. They had plastic pieces the fit tightly inside each individual piece.
@@beenshocked1443 not reproduced. Will
Have to find a replacement. Check your pick n pull yards
@@417fox thanks

It is less noticeable but you could always add a strip of Fine Line tape to prevent filling that area with filler.

Always super informational, can’t wait for more!!
Aaron Haight thanks 👍🏻
That car is going look mint !
Where in the 417 are you ?
Did you glue your quarter glass when you reinstalled them? If so what did you use?
Yes with Butyl
How are the quarter windows looking now I’m thinking of doing mine the same way
They still look great.
Turned out sweet!!!
This was an awesome video!!!!!!!

Hahahahaha! You noticed! I have been trying to catch it reach 417 so I can screenshot it!
Just found your channel! Had to subscribe to a fellow foxbody enthusiast. Wish my quarter trim was restorable but it’s too far gone lol
LynnTwinCustom$ glad you found the channel!
Love the fox content, love how you know when to talk and not spam us with pointless chatter.
Would you be able to do mines if I was to pay you for the job
How do you remove those windows? I bought an Arizona rescue 89 fox all molding is bleach and dry cracked.
I have a video and also LMR has a grey vid showing how
Good Call, i Haven't Seen Allot Of Info out there on this Repair, Appreciate This Video Boss, 🇺🇸👍💪🚘🦊🔧
fordtechlife thanks man! I hope it helps some folks out. 👊🏻
Great vid i have to do this to mine.
Great video! I'm in the process of doing the same with mine, hopefully it turns out as good!
Great info as always! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas Day. (Lol) Looking forward to seeing some color.
Man me too! It’s coming soon I promise. I gotta build that paint booth first!😎
Love it.
How difficult was it to remove the quarter windows.
Not hard, just time consuming. I have a step by step in a previous video
NICE NICE NICE
Do mine
What happen to the line in them?
They are there but not as defined
I've kept my qtr window trim in 98% perfect condition by using 3M Silicone Compound (wet type). Dry type works too.
Are you from Missouri? The 417
Yes sir

Nice work! What primer sealer did you use? And did you also sand after priming?
