I wish it was as simple as you make it appear. I have a 1988 T-Top (Car built Nov 1987) and in the middle of doing the one guide bushing on the driver side door. I am having a hard time aligning the bottom bolt of the oval guide rod to the bottom of the door. Its great fun. You guys do great videos. I just wish the small little upgrades were easy haha
I got it. The key was to give the window a bump up (as in not having the window sitting at the bottom). Still tough to align but I was able to move the window around and get the guide rod in the bottom of the door. Another key is to make sure the window is in the front guide slot.
That's definitely strange, and kind of difficult to diagnose without being there. I've never had that happen. I wish I could offer more help. Hope you get it figured out! -Landan

I just did this on my 87 ttop and man. What a major pita. I'd rather do a heater core over this...
Here's a question what would stop a window and lock actuator from working once u put the door panel back on the door??

@Late Model Restoration (LMR) I figured it out. It was the ground wire that goes to the door switch
The pieces that come in your kit are plastic on my 82 t-top. but these look like they'll work.
The guide bushing brackets are metal. The guide bushings are plastic. -Landan
Do these parts also work for my 87's manual windows?
Yes. I'll link the kit below that works for manual window cars. -Landan

Why do the quarter window bushings come with new metal plates?
Because the metal plate is needed to install the window bushings. We explain this throughout the entire video. -Landan
Think I need the Bushings 😢
Blown fuse?
