Satoru Gojo in the present day is known as the strongest Sorcerer from the modern era and he’s considered the strongest of the officially ranked 4 Special-Grade Sorcerers, and obviously today it’s no question that he’d win in a fight against nearly any other modern day sorcerer without question. But with the release of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 animating hidden-inventory, some fans are now for the first time seeing a Gojo who’s inexperienced, naive, cocky and has a lot to learn before becoming the Sorcerer he is in the present day. With Gojo also taking the role as the main character of this mini arc, he’s being compared a lot by the fandom to our usual main character Yuji itadori. Along with both of these Sorcerer’s both being around the grade I level and of course like I’ve mentioned earlier Gojo’s currently taking on the role as the main character currently in the anime, it makes all the more sense to see how a hypothetical matchup between both of these Sorcerer’s would play out. Na it's simple, Gojo may have a little bit of trouble pre-awakening but still wins at a fairly low difficulty, post awakening he absolutely violates Yuji.

Yuji can't bypass infinity, beyond that he doesn't scale in any way to Gojo other than pure physical strength.

an extremely rusty toji vs teen gojo pre awakened was implied to be a close fight, now that Yuji is comparable to a prime toji and with his ridonculous endurance he should win stats to stats, however he can't get through infinity. But we all know, Gojo would be crying and not want to hurt his brother itadori and while in a fever dream about his brotherly bond with Yuji, yuji would lay out the most devastating combo and Gojo is dead.

Teen Gojo, especially post RCT awakening Teen Gojo is just too much for even current Yuji, which is quite ironic. But not that surprising considering Yuji has actually been into the Jujutsu world for less than a year "Even as of the latest chapter a year hasn't even passed from their perspective since the story begun", Gojo on the other hand has been acquainted with cursed energy and Jujutsu since the day he was born basically, because of his clan and lineage. The fact that Yuji has been a Jujutsu sorcerer for this little and he's already definetly grade 1 sorcerer level (he is not officially stated to be a grade 1 sorcer, but he's most definitely on that level), even without an innate cursed technique "which I'm sure he'll eventually develop", is quite impressive.

It's even been stated that no sorcerer can trigger it on command, yet Yuji nearly seems to be able to do it on command.

And I love Yuji but he's definitely not equal to Maki: in their fight against Sukuna, they were shown to be relative in strength but Maki was still superior by quite a large margin as she was Sukuna and Uraume's primary target; and Yuji doesn't have any of the other advantages provided by Heavenly Restriction (DE counter, sensory prowess, speed?), let alone the arsenal Toji and Maki possess

Yuuji has no way to defeat teen gojo. No matter how strong yuji's physical ability, he can't pass infinity. No matter how fast yuuji current day, he not fast as maki/toji, so gojo can easily dodge yuuji's attack, especially yuuji have curse energy, that's mean gojo can easily detect and predict yuuji's movement. And for gojo vs yuuji hand to hand combat, even yuuji physically stronger, gojo's hand to hand combat atleast same or higher feat than suguru geto because gojo can use CE or even limitless to enhance his physical power, so even h2h combat(combine with reaction speed thank to six eyes) yuuji still not take easy to gojo. Even without blue yuuji can't take gojo. Imagine gojo use blue and levitate on the air while spamming blue at maximum, is over for yuuji.

Yuji will be the strongest sorcerer in JJK. I think he is the reincarnation of the good side Sukuna because even though Sukuna is now in Megumi's body he still looks like Yuji and Yuji can suppress him at will when he's still in his body.
Weird title considering this is so simple: Yuji is a weaker version of toji without the benifits of no curse energy to trace, inverted spear of heaven, cursed pets and an analytical mind. That toji still needed to exaist gojo to win. Therefore yuji doesnt have the faintest chance against teen gojo. Yuta makes more sense

current Yuji who is couldn't keep up with a supressed 15 finger sukuna but Maki could and that version of Maki was stated to be equal to Toji that fought teen Gojo. and while Yes teen Gojo got caught off gaurd by him after he got stabbed gojo got back up and fondled Toji with little effort then post awaking He just blitzed Toji and one shotted him with Purple.
Current Yuji would just get blitz by Teen Gojo I Love Yuji but he's just not at that level yet but no doubt he'll probably surpass at least teen Gojo by the end of the series.

Gojo is the strongest enough said.
Yuji has been shown to be able to keep up with strong characters at first hand. He held his own against anyone he fought, Hanami, Choso, Todo, Hakari, Mahito and even Sukuna. I think that's Yujis true potential being able to match up anyone even without a cursed technique and his attacks have such an impact to hurt those he fought.
Pretty sure Yuji was getting mopped by mahito before todo arrived
