한국 전통 활을 외국인이 이토록 진심으로 만들다니.. 놀랍습니다. 뽕나무, 대나무, 물소뿔, 민어부레, 소심줄, 등 구하기도 쉽지 않은 재료를 다 구해서 직접 만들다니 대단합니다. 한국 활은 가까운 거리의 적을 직사로 쏘기도 했지만, 전쟁 시에 이 활은 사거리가 먼 활이라서 보다 더 먼 거리 적을 약간의 곡사로 쏘아 죽이는 데 더 많이 사용된 활로 알고 있습니다.

Water buffalo horns are not native to Korea, so there are several bows made of native bulls or deer horns in Korea. The weakness of Korean bows is the glue made from the gills of a sea fish Brown croaker, which is weak against moisture. So I always keep it in a place without moisture, and then I supplemented it with a fish shell so that it can be used in summer. Cow horns native to Korea are short in length, so they are made of glue called glue made by collecting cow tendons and oils, which can be used both in summer and winter, but are weaker than those made of buffalo(bubalis) horns.

Hats off to you...that is a perfect example of a Gak Gung...I also make hornbows and had a go at making a Korean bow a few years ago. I got the taper rate on the core incorrect and that bow is just a wall hanger...however watching this I can sense another attempt coming. Very impressive bow and the comment section shows how well you did.

Some of the early examples of sinew backed horn bows were made with stone tools. Which i find amazing.
