Good explanation of what is going on with the valve , I'll be checking mine soon . I don't think it has totally failed yet but might be working itself loose like you showed . ✌️ Edit : I checked it and it was out about 1/8 of an inch . Pushed it back in, adjusted IQ and runs much smoother an fuel mileage improved ( most likely the IQ adjustment )
Love this tip and like I said before I'm always learning with your videos , I'm impressed that the car started , does that screw has specific position to be ? And I tough that the screw would give some kind of adjustment on fuel even I understand the iq and hammer mod does that , this pump is too complex to understand but love this tips , the plyers good tip too ! I'm always afraid to mess anything with the fuel because of air on the system on diesel . If u can in the future u should do a video about it teaching us , but basically we will need vacuum to pull the fuel ? Not easy to find one on the midle of the road I think that's why people talk do much about it like it's the end of the world 😅
You can push them back in but if its already come out its guaranteed to do it again. You need the keystone or a small tack of weld to stop it happening again. Im gonna look at mine on my bmw tds. Mine drains fuel back to tank overnight. Could this have something to do with it?
Could be , you need to check on this valve first. Than if problem persists try new fuel filter it maybe clogged and if problem persists maybe time for new nozzles this problem you describe is fuel starvation
I tried to check it in my toyota 3L na idi pump but its located in a tight spot. Got smoke issue and low mileage even after turning down fuel enrichment screw.

Just try to get access and check , and about your fuel smoke it can be nozzles related
Can you use NBR orings on these valves?
