Love these two to the moon and back. I once heard Bob Denver say that Alan Hale was one of the nicest persons you could ever know. He always seemed like a nice person to me even outside his role as the skipper.
I met Bob Denver in an alley, downtown Fort Myers Florida. He was about to be the Grand Marshall in the Edison Pageant of Light Parade. I knew the downtown area, so I was cutting through a secluded alley to get there after I parked and was walking to the parade site. He was having a smoke, all by himself. I grew up watching Gilligan's Island every day after school. I was born in 1970, so that show was one of the soundtracks of my youth. I stopped suddenly and just basically said "Bob Denver?". He was very nice. I was like "what are you doing here?" Because it was such an odd location, and I actually didn't know he was in the parade. So he wasn't on my mind at all. Just suddenly, I found Gilligan in an alley behind and old building. He explained that he was in the parade. It was kind of surreal because you'd expect him to be silly and goofy, like Gilligan. But he was just chill, taking drags off a Pall Mall. He asked if I lived there. I said yes. He said he loved south Florida, but it was too hot for him. I forgot to mention that he had on his Gilligan costume. White pants, red shirt, white sailor hat. But after talking to him, I noticed we had on THE exact same gray loafer shoes. I almost never wore them. I pointed it out, and he said "so you have good taste too". A very cool experience, and all to myself. No crowd, no friends, no pictures, no autographs. Just me and a childhood idol, one on one, alone in an alley. Then I went and met my friends and watched the parade, and towards the end there he was, sitting in a throne on a float. It was the early 1990's.
Thanks for sharing these marvelous clips with my favorite comedy team of all time. Even when the Skipper yells at his buddy you can't take it all that seriously. Gilligan handles is well.
The Skipper was good to Gilligan despite all the mess ups and injuries to the Skipper. That was part of their unique relationship. The Skipper was like a father figure and forgiving. He was the kind of father we all wanted.
The professor, skipper and Gilligan are so patriotic in their red, white and blue. They were a great trio and brought my family a lot of fun entertainment.
The absolute best video of ANY of them! this is fantastic! (well, ok, the one with Harold Heckubah is pretty good too, where they do the musical version of Hamlet)
I loved the way the producer was so patriotic with the red, white and blue shirts for the main characters. As a young kid I always preferred the skipper and imagined what a good friend he would be in good times and bad. I understand Alan hale was as good natured as his character.
Delightful. I love the way this video shows the Skipper insulting Gilligan, then Gilligan injures the Skipper, this it starts all over again. That's the way I remember these two and how funny they were together even though you wanted to ring Gilligan's neck. I think the Skipper was very patient to his first mate.
I don't think the Skipper was too harsh on Gilligan. They had a great relationship and worked well together. Nice work up on video. Had a lot of funny moments I forgot about.
Alan Hale was the secret of this show. Just brilliant. You often hear about actors you liked that didn't get along in real life. Not true here. They were friends until the day Alan died.
You have to give the Skipper credit for all those insults. His delivery is quick to the punch and much better than a slug in the face. As a kid I wondered how Gilligan escaped death. Those two were great together. Best casting in TV history.
"thanks a lot Gilligan." Bet if they were not stuck on the island Gilligan would have been fired by now. However, there were some episodes where Gilligan was a hero. He had a good heart.
Alan Hale and Alan Hale, Jr. were both fine actors. Jr is great as the Skipper with all his insults to Gilligan and hitting him with his cap. Despite all this, at the end of the show you can see how much the Skipper cares for his little buddy and how protective he is of him.
Besides Star Trek, this was one of my favorite shows. I like what you did with this video. I forgot about all those Skipper insults, but Gilligan seemed to take it pretty well.
There is no doubt the Skipper could be very kind and protective of his little buddy, but when he gets mad, which is often, he is down right mean. I guess you could say that Gilligan could drive anyone mad at times.
The Skipper was a bit clumsy himself and added to his injuries. He did come up with some cutting insults to poor Gilligan. Good job bringing this all together. I think Ginger was always my favorite, followed by the Skipper.
What about the episode where an agent comes to the island who looks exactly like Gilligan? Gilligan tells the Skipper about it. Then, the Skipper said, "Oh, that's all we need, another Gilligan."
I get it Skipper; Andy always had to get on Barney's case. The Andy Griffith Show and Gilligan's Island were my all time favorite shows growing up. They don't get much better than these two.
I could never figure out why Skipper was so nasty to Gilligan. It seemed very similar to how Gomer Pile was treated. This was one of my favorite shows growing up in the 70s. The seaport they left from looked exactly like the one near my house called Venetian Shores. I was told I lived in America, but the weird thing is Italy looks like Long Island on a map.
Wasn't this the most popular show in syndication? All the characters were classic and made this show popular. I love all the characters but was partial to Thurston Howell III.
In order for a show like this work, you need a chemistry. And this show had it. Especially between Bob and Allen (Gilligan and the Skipper). Even though Gilligan was the skipper's whipping post, he loved him. A testament to Sherwood Schwartz genius character creations. You rarely ever get lightning in a bottle like this twice. Yet he did it again only a few years later with the Brady bunch.
Hey Buck, this is all seasons two and three. When are your going to do one for season one? There are classic scenes in the first season even if it was all black and white.
Would Gilligan's Island work as a movie today? In most of the TV-based movies made today, in spite of the year the original TV show was made, they would use the technologies of today. If they were to make a Gilligan's Island movie today, it would be easy for them to get off the island because they could use their cellphones to call for help. I think the only way to make Gilligan's Island into an actual movie would be to set it in the year it was made (1964).
Ha ha, all these insults and injuries caused by Gilligan made this show so funny. Why don't you put one together of all the mess ups by Gilligan that prevented them from leaving the island. You will need a long song for that.
When I was a little kid I never really paid attention to anything the Skipper said to Gilligan. I knew it would just be a lot of negative insults. For this reason somehow I tuned the Skipper out.
Apparently Alan Hale broke his arm during filming an episode but it wasn't the fault of Gilligan. He fell out of a tree. I wonder if that was the episode involving the bee hive. I can't recall the name of the show but think it was in the first season.
This was clever. For every insult uttered by the skipper, Gilligan got him back good. Not sure who was the winner here, but they were a great team. I miss this kind of tv entertainment. Seems like tv is a bunch of junk with all these stupid reality shows.
Alan Hale is one of my favorites. I really liked him as Casey Jones. A little disappointed though. I watched the whole video wanting to see a coconut fall on the skippers head and it didn't happen. Shucks.
Love these two to the moon and back. I once heard Bob Denver say that Alan Hale was one of the nicest persons you could ever know. He always seemed like a nice person to me even outside his role as the skipper.
Nice video. I miss these two guys. They bought a lot of laughter into our household and I loved to hear my kids laugh out loud.
My kind of entertainment. Thanks for sharing clips of this funny show.

A great story being near a famous friendly star like bob Denver alan hale
I met Bob Denver in a local play where I live after Gilligan's Island. What a treat. He was very humble.
They must have had so much fun doing this show.
Jim Backus said it was the best three years of his life.
Nice job Buck Stops Here. The Skipper insults are so funny.
Love this show and the characters👩❤️👩
Thanks for sharing these marvelous clips with my favorite comedy team of all time. Even when the Skipper yells at his buddy you can't take it all that seriously. Gilligan handles is well.
Great video! Alan and Bob sure had great chemistry on that show.
P.S. Insults are _hurled_ 😉
Who could not love this show? I still believe innocent and wholesome humor is the best.
They were a great team.
Skipper came up with some good lines. He was a great actor and one I miss a lot.
Dynamic Duo.
Skipper, you need to give your little buddy a break! LOL Good continuity on this video. Enjoyed it and going down memory lane.
love this video and all the funny clips.
Great show with a fantastic cast. I enjoyed watching reruns last year.
The Skipper was good to Gilligan despite all the mess ups and injuries to the Skipper. That was part of their unique relationship. The Skipper was like a father figure and forgiving. He was the kind of father we all wanted.
Yet kind of hard the Skipper 😁 could be kind of hard on Gilligan at times😅
Alan Hale both Jr and Sr classic actors tv and film
The Skipper was my favorite. Who could not love him!!!!!!!!!
Best friends forever, so sweet ❤️
Quite entertaining. Thanks for putting all these clips together.
The professor, skipper and Gilligan are so patriotic in their red, white and blue. They were a great trio and brought my family a lot of fun entertainment.
Which one wore a white shirt?
I love the Skipper. So glad to find your video. I really, really enjoyed it. Gilligan and Skipper are so well matched. Gotta love em both.
Thank you for your goodness sherry! I have loved this program since after preschool! Lol laugh on every one! It is a good distressed! ❤️
I enjoy watching all these videos on UA-cam. We used to get the reruns of Gilligan's Island on tv but not any more.
The Skipper's insults are more funny than mean. Nice reminder of what a classic show this was.
I loved the old classics like Gilligan's Inland, the Andy Griffith Show and Beverly Hillbillies.
The Skipper and Gilligan were hilarious, especially when they (accidentally) got in each other's way on more than one occasion!
Congrats to the produce of this video. Lots of talent--lots of work, lots of
good watching.
OMG you used Perfidia as the music!! I love that song especially by the Ventures! They're my favorite instrumental band ever
The absolute best video of ANY of them! this is fantastic! (well, ok, the one with Harold Heckubah is pretty good too, where they do the musical version of Hamlet)
Thanks Hank Austin. I always got a kick out of the Skipper's insults to Gilligan.
This was entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
I loved the way the producer was so patriotic with the red, white and blue shirts for the main characters. As a young kid I always preferred the skipper and imagined what a good friend he would be in good times and bad. I understand Alan hale was as good natured as his character.
Even when the Skipper is insulting Gilligan he comes off likable. This is a real tribute to his superior acting.
I bought the DVDs of Gilligan's Island thru Amazon. It has been fun watching all the episodes which I have not seen for about 47 years.
A fine western actor besides his role as the Skipper. Nice role in Hang Em High.
Delightful. I love the way this video shows the Skipper insulting Gilligan, then Gilligan injures the Skipper, this it starts all over again. That's the way I remember these two and how funny they were together even though you wanted to ring Gilligan's neck. I think the Skipper was very patient to his first mate.
My favorite castaway.
Hard to imagine anyone else playing the Skipper but Alan Hale. Best actor on the show.
You go Skipper!
These two were the classic dynamic duo and Gilligan's Island has proven it's worth and popularity despite the clueless critics of the 60's.
Bob Denver and Alan Hale had such great chemistry.
So funny! Love this one and all the exchanges between Skipper and Gilligan.
NickBarkley has.
Who could not love the Skipper so wonderfully played by Alan Hale? Even though he was always on Gilligan's case he had a warm heart.
I couldn't relate to Laurel & Hardy (before my time), but I loved this duo. They are timeless.
I once met Bob Denver at a mall while visiting my grandmother.
Everything back then was better I think!!!
Sherwood Swartz went on to produce The Brady Bunch, but Gilligan's Island will always be my favorite sitcom.
Alan Hale and Alan Hale, Jr. were both fine actors. Jr is great as the Skipper with all his insults to Gilligan and hitting him with his cap. Despite all this, at the end of the show you can see how much the Skipper cares for his little buddy and how protective he is of him.
2021 rules forever what did Alan Hale Sr play in I only know jr.
2021 rules forever Bob Denver rules forever. John Denver sucks 👎 forever.
2021 rules forever at least my worst team Denver broncos aren't in the Superbowl this year so I'll have to find a different team to hate.
Besides Star Trek, this was one of my favorite shows. I like what you did with this video. I forgot about all those Skipper insults, but Gilligan seemed to take it pretty well.
The Skipper is just a big teddy bear.
His bark was bigger than his bite.
Mighty fine.
I like this!!!
You're important too....when we get into trouble you get us into more trouble...
seem to forgot how much the Skipper yelled at Gilligan.
I definitely loved it perfect music to it great video !
2:21
The-skip-per-lost-his-mar-bles!
What was so funny was whenever things fell on Skipper his foot wild eyed hede be
What about the episode where an agent comes to the island who looks exactly like Gilligan? Gilligan tells the Skipper about it. Then, the Skipper said, "Oh, that's all we need, another Gilligan."
That's a good one!!!! I sure missed that one.
"Gilligan, you couldn't be best man at an all girl school." Now that's a low insult. LOL
I like the revision. Much better background song
Classic show of all times. It was too bad that Bob Denver later starred in two tv series that were unsuccessful.
I get it Skipper; Andy always had to get on Barney's case. The Andy Griffith Show and Gilligan's Island were my all time favorite shows growing up. They don't get much better than these two.
I forgot about all the insults. I mostly remember the skipper hitting Gilligan with his cap whenever he said something stupid or did something stupid.
I love the Skipper and love the fact Alan Hale Jr was a Pisces!!!
I never realized how mean the skipper was. Ruthless.
Has anyone noticed how different Alan Hale's voice is during an interview compared to the Skipper?
If the island blows up you'll be leading the way
No matter how much of a dunderhead he is, Gilligan will always be the Skipper's "little buddy."
Wasn't this the most popular show in syndication? All the characters were classic and made this show popular. I love all the characters but was partial to Thurston Howell III.
1:48 Can't find that Clip anywhere what episode is it from ?
I should know it but sorry I forget now
@@upthedownescalator630 no worries
Nice job on the revision Buck. I prefer Perfidia over the previous western background. Can't lose with the Ventures.
In order for a show like this work, you need a chemistry. And this show had it. Especially between Bob and Allen (Gilligan and the Skipper). Even though Gilligan was the skipper's whipping post, he loved him. A testament to Sherwood Schwartz genius character creations.

Too funny!
I agree this is a better song for this video. The other one was more appropriate for a western TV show or movie.
RiP
The Skipper could really dish it out even though he was a hypocrite.
When I was a little kid I never really paid attention to anything the Skipper said to Gilligan. I knew it would just be a lot of negative insults. For this reason somehow I tuned the Skipper out.
Aw, Gilligan's heart was in the right place.
Apparently Alan Hale broke his arm during filming an episode but it wasn't the fault of Gilligan. He fell out of a tree. I wonder if that was the episode involving the bee hive. I can't recall the name of the show but think it was in the first season.
great show
2021 rules forever is Bob Denver related to John Denver.
No, they just had the same last name.
Why not include season 1 insults & injuries? I can think of some really good scenes.
I did another video that covers some of the insults and injuries for season 1 only.
This was clever. For every insult uttered by the skipper, Gilligan got him back good. Not sure who was the winner here, but they were a great team. I miss this kind of tv entertainment. Seems like tv is a bunch of junk with all these stupid reality shows.
This background song sounds like a version of "Perfidia"? If so, an interesting choice of music for this clip. Still, it works well, whatever it is.
It is Perfidia. By the Ventures. I have more of their music in my playlists than anyone else
Much love, Kimmyssong
Alan Hale is one of my favorites. I really liked him as Casey Jones.
A little disappointed though. I watched the whole video wanting to see a coconut fall on the skippers head and it didn't happen. Shucks.
Funny
A comedy classic tv team
Best buds till the end.
