      If you "request" to have your data deleted from a broker, do they have to comply? Who ensures that they comply? How long does it take? What if they say they did but did not? Who is stopping them from buying and selling it again the next day? Love your videos!! Other than boycotting, what can we do when we "need" a product and can no longer afford to buy it? ☮️💟

      Wealth inequality was allowed to get out of control with the end of the gold standard. It's true people should care about people rather than money, but the inflation makes that difficult to do too. Just get rid of the fed. If you don't believe me, look up wealth inequality in a graph that goes past 1970. The gold standard ended in 1971-1974. Case and point.

      I stopped buying Gatorade when they made the bottle size switch (they also apparently watered down the flavor in the process). I stopped drinking soda entirely in 2023 when 2-liters went above $2. I stopped buying packages of instant potatoes when they reduced the size in half and doubled the price. I stopped buying frozen burritos when the price doubled. I'm just not going to keep paying such high prices. I can make my ow burritos for way less. Water is fine. Tea is fine. I can buy bulk instant potatoes and add my own flavorings and spices. These greedy companies lost profits from me and I sure hope I'm not the only one saying "no, no more greedflation".

      @@absolutelynonameslefIt's not that it goes up that is the problem. Is how much it goes up by.
      I used to insure a Mustang through Allstate, full cover and was paying 250 a month. Now recently I got a used Jetta with over 100k miles in it and they wanted me to pay 260+.... That's an astronomical increase. I gave them the middle finger.
      I have no problem with the government mandating insurance where it makes sense, as long as they properly police those who are entrusted with providing such mandated services.

    • @MmmmJuicy

      It's too expensive to own a car anymore where I live. What's worse is that public transit is lacking and there are no other real options for transport here. Can't even walk or ride a bike without some idiot running you over. Where I am, insurance has gone up, registration has gone up, taxes have gone up, parts have gone up, gas has gone up, rent has gone up, groceries have gone up, literally everything has gone up, except pay, which conveniently for companies has lagged behind helping them keep their profits high. Every year, you have to spend more to do less.

      It's because it is mandatory. They know we have no choice and they standardize the pricing to keep them "competitive". The one I absolute hate is the mortgage insurance.
      Mortgage insurance protects the lender, not you
      Mortgage insurance, no matter what kind, protects the lender - not you - in the event that you fall behind on your payments. If you fall behind, your credit score may suffer and you can lose your home through foreclosure.Sep 9, 2020
      In short - it does nothing for the person paying it. (To avoid it you need about 20% down payment, and it's said you can have it removed after you reach that in the principal payments (about 10-15 yrs or so is my estimate))

    You should see what they're doing in Automotive Insurance, especially high-risk insurance for elderly, teenagers, or people with previous accidents. People with $120 policies are now getting renewals for $300-600 per month. Were you late? Gotta pay 2 payments down to restart. Corporate Officers are seeing million dollar bonuses, expanding their real estate portfolio on golf courses in hawaii while telling their employees, "Sorry, your raise/bonus is reduced or removed because we projected 15 million profit over last year and we only hit 12."

    • @Fishseaofcortez
      @Fishseaofcortez 2 місяці тому +2

      First off, the state needs to increase dollar amount on minimum liability and enforce the requirement of having auto insurance. In the last year and a half, I've had my block wall damaged by someone with no insurance, a suspended driver's license and a failure to appear in court. The vehicle wasn't even hers. My homeowners insurance had to cover it, I had a 1k deduct. A few months later my mother, just minding her own business, gets hit , almost a direct head on, by a reckless driver who was speeding and crossed the solid double line. My mother's vehicle was totaled. The vehicle was barely three years old with 15k miles on it, and more than half paid off. My mother is 77 and she is still dealing with the aftereffects.The other woman didn't have enough insurance coverage, so my mother's insurance had to cover it. Last July I was hit by a guy making an unsafe U turn . I lost money there too. A week ago, my brother's truck was totalled, and his van was damaged by a woman who was smoking pot. Both vehicles were legally parked. She didn't have enough coverage, so my brother's insurance has to cover it. The police did nothing, no urine or blood test. It sounded like they didn't want to be bothered with it. My brother went to Bakersfield in a rented vehicle , he was at a stop light and got slammed into, did major damage to the rental, possibly totalled. The other driver drove off. It's been two days and BPD still has not come out to take a report. It's no longer an accident , it's a felony hit and run. The whole system is a joke !

    • @hearthseeker2425
      @hearthseeker2425 2 місяці тому

      @Fishseaofcortez technically correct. The minimum in most states is 15-25,000 liability. For property that should be enough, but most insurances are over-valueing repair costs to make back more on investment. Fines for driving without insurance are honestly lower than most premiums per year, this encourages reckless people are willing to make a payout for no insurance than pay 4-500 monthly for a minimum liability policy. And police are massively understaffed and due to corruption a lot of police are investing extra money into heavier equipment and munitions than they are interested in replacing exhausted cops. Most hit and runs are almost virtually impossible to track down the at fault party unless a plate has been secured and at least one witness.

    Companies typically used to claim that shrinkflation was making a choice between reducing product size rather than increasing price. Like your just getting less so they can keep it at the same price. But these days they do both, its all about increasing the profit margin as much as possible there is no other consideration at this point. Increase price and reduce product cost as much as possible. Its totally unsustainable.

    Would our whole economy collapse if most people suddenly started eating only simple, quick, bland, home cooked meals, such as beans, rice, raw meat, eggs, oats, granular sugar, and vegetables?
    Would the managerial class respond by passing laws to mandate purchases or outlaw raw foods that need to be cooked for consumption?
    My assumption is, if people get poor enough, they’ll just make a vat of stew every week, sit it in a refrigerator and carry around an insulated thermos container everywhere, for breakfast, lunch, snacks, etc. with no intention of ever stopping at the 7-11, 99 Cents Store or drive-thru 🤷🏽‍♂️

      Companies are relying on the natural human trait of laziness. The average person will typically opt for what seems easier or faster. So long as the majority of consumers do this, these companies will continue their greed. I, for one, have said NO to a lot of products over the last few years. I'm just not going to pay that much. I stopped buying paper towels, for example, because they just cost too much. I use rags now. I've spent more time learning how to cook because I'm just not going to pay that much for convenience food. My stubbornness is saving me some money.

Once a company reaches market saturation either by buying out competition or simply providing quality good/service there is no more growth. It impossible to get more customers if everyone who can be a customer is a customer so the only way for the company to maintain stock value and/or grow is to lower the quality of said good or service. I don't know if the Fabreeze Air line is the only ones to do the about half full bottles thing, but after I bought a number of twin packs of those, I noticed a full one feels much lighter than the aerosol fresheners in metal cans, and not just by the weight of the container materials, the gross weight feels so much lighter. I was wondering if, since it's a common thing around here, mostly limited to Wal-Mart, customers were using products and not buying them, I flipped it to check since the bottom is better visibility with the dimmer lighting I have to work with. I'm even finding wet food products sold in plastic bags now to also have air in them rather than having a vacuum seal on them since a thin plastic bag is much easier to pierce than a tin can or glass jar and I don't like that because I have to spend a minute or two smelling to gauge if it's possibly from bacterial contamination, but a lot of harmful bacterium don't produce gases with odors, like with salmonella and E. Coli, so it's still a gamble. And since some of those plastic bag wet foods are, like some I bought earlier today foods I haven't had before, I don't even know how to tell if the food spoiled before expiration date besides odors, I could tell being from mold growth or visual signs of contamination. -> My uncle once had a bad angle on a deer or elk he killed, and we had to cut a lot of bad flesh out and even through away some we packaged and later was able to see and or smell the contamination. Don't eat the green meat.

    The concept of shrinkflation doesn't have a simple "answer" in the traditional sense. It's a term used to describe a phenomenon where companies reduce the size or quantity of a product while keeping its price the same or increasing it. From a consumer perspective, being aware of shrinkflation can help make more informed purchasing decisions and be mindful of changes in product sizes or quantities.

    Know what can’t shrinkflate? Whole foods. Cheaper to buy potatoes and meat than potato chips and microwave meals.

    Generic brands are still competitively priced. Only way to stop them is to not buy their products. Enough people donit and they'll have to lower prices.

    Candy bars, Twinkies, Pop Tarts (thinner), even Levi's (fabric thinner on preshrunk styles).
    On some products - the ones which are not simply a quantity of some uniform item or substance (e.g., Gatorade) - shrinkflation yields an inferiror product, not merely Less of it (e.g.., the new skinny Pop Tarts taste weird, and thinned-out Levi's obviously wear out faster, and fit differently, etc.).

      I recently noticed that in a lot of areas, Amazon is cheaper than my local Walmarts, somehow. Like, a can of chili I like is a solid 25 cents cheaper per can through Amazon. I can literally get it delivered to my door and save money compared to going to my local Walmart.

    The solution is simple. Stop buying these companies products when they increase the price or are giving you less for your money. That's exactly what I do. They will have no choice but to lower the price again to increase their sales.

    In my country the shampoo companies seems to have changed format of bottles all at once to a smaller one, keeping same price. Not only that, the supermarket i go to changed the height of the shelf floors (they can easily be moved up and down through pre-placed holes) to make it more subtle.
    But we had the old bottles. The old ones were 400ml, these are 300. This is insane.

      If different companies not belonging to the same owner suddenly change packages to disadvantage of consumers what they practice is a market collusion.
