I have two pairs of TCX riding ‘shoes’. A waterproof set and an air set that look more like tennis shoes. Both go over the ankle and D30 armor is the best you can get. Fit and finish is excellent on both. Very comfortable. My only issue is with the summer ‘air’ boot (different design than reviewed here) is the sole is not as grippy after 3 years of mostly riding and little walking, and I won’t wear them when I have the extra weight of a passenger due to that issue. These soles also look pretty thin and wonder if they will have the same issue.

Thanks for your thoughts, Robert! Yes that's a good point regarding the soles. So far so good but only time will tell.
