For this week's episode of the SML Show, host Donn Maeda sits down with Austin Forkner to discuss his injury from Anaheim One, coming back to racing, and plenty more. Plugin those headphones and enjoy this week's episode of the SML Show with the Forkner!
That crash was so violent and I can't imagine how traumatizing it must have been for him, given the implications of the injury. I was absolutely devastated. Really happy to see him working towards coming back to racing. It takes a mentally invincible person to overcome injury after injury, spend all that time sidelined and still be able to come back. Austin is somebody who has tried to clean up and rethink his approach in the last couple years but has had setback after setback. Any normal person would have given up but that's not Forkner's MO. Nothing but respect for him.
I want Austin to get a win he needs it to get the camel of his back.
I think you mean monkey not camel!
@@duaneverde9879it was a monkey but kept evolving. Now its a camel.
As wild as Ryno is, he is 100% right about technique. Stoked to see Austin working with him.
Wish all the best for Austin Forkner!...He's a great kid..💯🚀🇺🇲
He has a super similar trajectory going as ac..good luck
Finally changed the intro music, thank you! And rad Forkner is working with Ryno. Watched his vlog the other day and he’s looking good. I think that’s a good match.
Love it, him and Ryno will make a good team with his crew! Cant wait for him to be back in the races🔥🔥
I like that he said he normally takes a nap every day😂 I love naps.
Glad your feeling better and good luck.
I'm pulling for him, dude is a great racer....
Austin’s best racing years are yet to come.
I read Training with Ryno and couldn't click fast enough hoping for a crazy Ryno story! LOL
Excited to see him working with Ryno! He’s always been crazy fast, but there’s plenty of technique stuff Ryno will fix. He tucks his butt a lot in corners. Ryno will one up his corner control, consistency & speed in no time. Keep it upright and watch out Hunter.
Use to see Austin at a few of our local tracks up untill about his 250B days,he was so fun to watch on his Supermini at Archveiw.Wish him well on his return and congrats on gettin hitched young man.Peace&wheelies from the Olson Crew.......
i want to hear about Riley !
So much awkward tension. Lol Austin is a stud
All this talk about dabbing is making MY knee hurt!
This is very interesting that he is now being coached by Hughes! I will definitely be watching and hoping they both succeed tremendously, for sure.
Take time to friggen heal up.dont go out as soon as its ready.get it healed and dont push it
This poor kid, so much talent and can't get a break. I know the bone clanking thing because I've been there. I wish him the best in the future but I can tell you this, he will probably need double knee replacement in his forties or early fifties. Don't ask me how I know. btw - I'm no expert but like some of the other extremely talented guys who can't seem to get away from injuries need to find a way or program of extreme mental focus training. Nothing to do with physio or even riding, necessarily, just mental focus training for hours a day. I feel this is what there problem is with all these habitual crashers - AC, McAdoo, Forkner, Even sexton, J coop, the list goes on and on where people are like, yep, here we go again, it's just expected. Some of it is certain riders riding over their head trying so hard to win but worst cases are riders who have no problem winning but they continue to have these horrific crashes. I wish I had the education, experience and knowledge to open a clinic for nothing more than athletic focus. Not just motocross but it applies to many sports. I would make a fortune.
Doesn't matter how much stuff you do the new graft isn't 100 percent until 12 months 😂 thats so risky
Forkner! 💯🤘🏻
Dude talks
Im dabbing daily 😂😂
He needs to get off the 250 ASAP. His build and technique is 450 material. He was always faster than Chase and Chase made the transition to 450 with ease.
I think he is putting himself at risk if he rides the 250 class. Deegan, Hunter, Shimoda are hungry and very aggressive to podium. I fear Austin will instintively get caught up in the competition rather than progress slowly to get track fit and track savvy.
I know he wants to race and prove himself but, like Mitch is preaching, he just needs him to be there, on the track. Not at home injured. There is plenty of time for this guy to prove himself for several years to come but, for the shirt term, just work on getting back in track form. Complete every moto and every race. The podiums will come around soon enough. If he must race the 250 class just be In that class to get track time. No need to take risks.
Next year should be good with Jett, Hunter, Chase and Austin leading the way in the 450 class. Austin has always had the speed and talent to race with anybody. I believe his time is coming real soon.
Thought it was spinal when i first watched the crash
Austin needs to catch a break hes a boss on a bike.
hope he doesn't rush coming back
Why do the interviews always on a time crunch if you can still carry on a conversation let it flow man don’t just stop the talk
Folkner was on that day…. It could have been a completely different year….I don’t want to believe it… he may have have bad genes? It sounds like dabbing the leg is not something you want to do… balance balance balance? Unicycle training,?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think he can turn up the heat Jett took him out ,I wasnt a Fan of what jett did, My heart hurts for AF, I 100% Believe he can win heaps Lord Willing
🎉
Honestly
I think what you meant to say was, “ like “
Training with Ryno HAS to be Freakin' Cool....
Do I care about ur bones clanking?...NO....werd up on the Retro....
