That crash was so violent and I can't imagine how traumatizing it must have been for him, given the implications of the injury. I was absolutely devastated. Really happy to see him working towards coming back to racing. It takes a mentally invincible person to overcome injury after injury, spend all that time sidelined and still be able to come back. Austin is somebody who has tried to clean up and rethink his approach in the last couple years but has had setback after setback. Any normal person would have given up but that's not Forkner's MO. Nothing but respect for him.

Excited to see him working with Ryno! He’s always been crazy fast, but there’s plenty of technique stuff Ryno will fix. He tucks his butt a lot in corners. Ryno will one up his corner control, consistency & speed in no time. Keep it upright and watch out Hunter.

All this talk about dabbing is making MY knee hurt!
This is very interesting that he is now being coached by Hughes! I will definitely be watching and hoping they both succeed tremendously, for sure.

This poor kid, so much talent and can't get a break. I know the bone clanking thing because I've been there. I wish him the best in the future but I can tell you this, he will probably need double knee replacement in his forties or early fifties. Don't ask me how I know. btw - I'm no expert but like some of the other extremely talented guys who can't seem to get away from injuries need to find a way or program of extreme mental focus training. Nothing to do with physio or even riding, necessarily, just mental focus training for hours a day. I feel this is what there problem is with all these habitual crashers - AC, McAdoo, Forkner, Even sexton, J coop, the list goes on and on where people are like, yep, here we go again, it's just expected. Some of it is certain riders riding over their head trying so hard to win but worst cases are riders who have no problem winning but they continue to have these horrific crashes. I wish I had the education, experience and knowledge to open a clinic for nothing more than athletic focus. Not just motocross but it applies to many sports. I would make a fortune.

He needs to get off the 250 ASAP. His build and technique is 450 material. He was always faster than Chase and Chase made the transition to 450 with ease.
I think he is putting himself at risk if he rides the 250 class. Deegan, Hunter, Shimoda are hungry and very aggressive to podium. I fear Austin will instintively get caught up in the competition rather than progress slowly to get track fit and track savvy.
I know he wants to race and prove himself but, like Mitch is preaching, he just needs him to be there, on the track. Not at home injured. There is plenty of time for this guy to prove himself for several years to come but, for the shirt term, just work on getting back in track form. Complete every moto and every race. The podiums will come around soon enough. If he must race the 250 class just be In that class to get track time. No need to take risks.
Next year should be good with Jett, Hunter, Chase and Austin leading the way in the 450 class. Austin has always had the speed and talent to race with anybody. I believe his time is coming real soon.
