Quick Note: The chainsword does move in the accurate direction. The framerate creates a visual illusion making the blades appear to be moving in the wrong direction.
Honestly that's a pretty common optical illusion when it comes to fast moving things like that, regardless of framerate. Have you ever looked at a ceiling fan that was spinning rapidly and if you focused on it one way it was rotating the correct direction, yet the second you focused differently it seemed to go the opposite direction?
I made some purity seals for a friend a few years back. I bought some iron-on transfer paper and printed the design, then transferred it to some old white cloth shirts. After cutting the shape out, I weathered the seal with some coffee and a toothbrush splatter of thinned red paint to give them a well-worn look.
Please guys yall need to tag GW and Amazon, also Henry Cavill. That is beautiful they could use them in his up and coming series. I really do hope GW reaches out to you guys. Maybe yall will be able to help create some of helmets and armor. I can see the guy that play Reacher using this lol he would make a perfect Space Marine
Hey guys! Just a small rant after watching a lot of the videos here and being inspired to do my own Mando helmet(not this video specific but this is the newest one) If youre using the acetone wash with the Bondo.....make sure you dont use a normal kitchen plastic cup the acetone might eat through it and make a whole mess Also when doing your prep and cleanup don't be afraid of doing a lot of filler primer then spot filling, both of them are super easy to sand and if you build up alot of layers you can most of the time get out some really deep imperfections! Finally I HIGHLY recommend getting a small Dremel, I had to do some gluing for my project and the Dremel was really good at cleaning up some of the leaking super glue! Thanks for coming to my TED Talk, thank you GA for inspiring me to take on my project! I'm learning a lot doing it on my own! You guys rock!
Ive always wanted someone like you guys to make a chainsword. Ive been hoping to see a motor from an actual chain saw used, for the whirr. Or maybe the motor from a mini gun that can spin up to super speed. everything is amazing about this make, except the speed of the teeth.
Im aware that this comment is a bit late so it probably won't be read by you guys but I'm making a cosplay of the uf-16 inspector armour from hd2, problem is that no one has the actual armour files, you guys have the helmet but not the arm guards and the pauldron, if you have the time it'd be amazing if you could release the rest of the armour set. Thanks, I love your videos, it's how I got into cosplay
Haven't even watched the vid yet and clicked 👍 immediately at the gate. I think about this almost 2X a week...for the past 20yrs. All I got was eye rolls and head shakes when I brought it up and said that one day...someone is going to do it...and if not I will take a crack at it once I retire. The Emperor Protects.
This is perfect timing since my replacement printer just showed up, and I was thinking of doing a set of space marine armour so I shall eagerly await that.
Alex Geek Workshop has been making these for a little while. He's got a couple different models of chainsword, and a chain axe. 3D printable, and all go vroom.
Yellow hazard stripes would have worked as well. There is one slight critique... the chain is rotating in the wrong direction. The exposed part of the chain should travel - Tip to Handle, you have it going Handle to Tip. Overall it is a great build
In your guys hands it just look like a stubby grip eviscerator chainword but I do love the purity seal text. Blessed be thine machine for it is blessed by the Machine God and its machine spirit brutal yet magnificent.
This is amazing! I've been thinking about jumping into the specialist tier as I just got my first 3d printer a few months ago, but I have a question. Are the files cut up for smaller printers?
To echo some other comments I saw, can you guys work on your sound mixing? I found that i had to keep turning the volume up to hear you speak and then down for the music
while it look super awesome it does look quite big for us normal humies to wield, like i know its meant for space marines and such but normal humans use chainswords too only they are smaller and better to wield. it probably would be smarter and better to make a smaller chainsword intended for normal, imperial guard humans to use. you can`t really swing a space marine size chainsword around without tipping over due to the weight and length of the sword. so making an smaller version would probably be better, but hey done is done and it looks great how it came out and the purity seal actually having readable text is such cool thing to add, all that remains is to pray to the machine spirit within the sword and have incense burn while you`re at it. hoping for more 40k related builds and some builds used by the smaller normal kind of human that play a huge part of the 40k setting, like lasguns or even plasma/melta gun! great build guys and i await to see what you create next. and remember, the emperor protects.
I was wondering how scaleable the internal chain mechanism is, Ive got an eviscerator chainsword shell (Two handed chainsword) and I cant for the life of me get the chain gears to work. Could I just add more chain and use the one shown here?
You need to do the sword some justice and show it off more please. So much work and effort into the details and functionality and I didn't see enough of the finished product in working action😢
Can you make Nero’s Red Queen now? That seems like a good challenge. I once tried to do it with a friend and it was…not great. We tried to mount a little twostroke onto a sword but it made too much vibration and just broke apart and messed up the blade. Maybe an electric motor would fare better?
As I am not currently nearly 8’ tall (Geneseed is _still_ back ordered!) I was wondering if the chainsword was scalable to something more Imperial Guard sized? I know it wouldn’t be printable but replacing the resin pommel with one made of cast iron or brass would really improve the balance. I’m willing to bet that a brass skull in near the exact size should be pretty easy to find online. Oh yeah… Subscribed. Y’all had me as soon as UA-cam’s algorithm decided that with being subscribed to 30+ Warhammer related channels “chainsword” might be of interest. Easy decision since I’ve been playing 40K since Rogue Trader first arrived here in the States.
I love all of your work!!! I’ve continuously bought your files previously and loved every bit of all of them on Cults3D and Etsy!!! Will you guys be continuing working on the Saw Shield from Doom Dark Ages???
Good job, but a sword like that won't cut anything deeper than an inch. The chain guide housing will lock into the "wound". The teeth would have to protrude slightly beyond the outline of the sword blade
I was thinking to strip down a power snake for the drum and motor then mount a v-belt on it and glue on rubber teeth. I wanna have a safe version for actually hitting my friends!
Quick Note: The chainsword does move in the accurate direction. The framerate creates a visual illusion making the blades appear to be moving in the wrong direction.
Just like wheels appearing to be running backwards at certain speeds.
I was going to say, that looked a little wrong there on the reveal.
I was really hoping to see a hype reek of the finished sword. We want to see it working and take in the paint job!
@@KurtKn1sp3l😂I was just.

We need that purity seal on all our 3D printers.
It's pretty much an STC you'll need alot of seals.
Lol
I'm in.
Preferably for 3 or 4.
I have an ender3 so all the help, etc😂
GA, can we all have the full text? Pleeeeeeeze?
He's a real life tech priest
Next they should work on those toasters.

That's awesome 👌
1:48 You misspelled "Techpriest Archmagos" as "Mad Scientist"
Ron is a great addition to the team and I'm loving the production value of the video. excellent job guys
I'd love to see you guys electroplating something so that it's covered in real metal. Like maybe a gold plated servo skull?
NANOVATE :D
Brothers! This is the way!
"Do not wet sand when the water is warm. Sand with enough intensity to warm the water." - William Butler Yeats
“Do not wet snow when the water is cold. Snow with enough intensity to cool the water”

Will go good with full size astartes armor
C2E2 bouta be wild
4:25 oh god… his face melted for sec.
Premiere Pro moment
The Algorithm has blessed you brothers, keep up the good work
+10 points for doing the emperor's work.
-5 for not having gothic music underscoring this video for the 40k theme.
17:53
I'm busy trying to get my Etsy shop set up making all the product photos you guys got to stop giving me side projects I want to do
S tier side quest tho😅
Please mix the montage music quieter, its murder for headphone users to have it blasting twice as loud as everything else.
Agreed

Now please make a khorne axe version. I would print one so fast.
A gift from the Forge!
This is my first video and I’m in love. May the emperor’s light guide you.
Good job Techpriests! Now let's rip the Mutant, the Heretics, and Aliens with this🗣️⚔️

We're not going to make an actual weapon. This is meant to be used for cosplay.
By the Emperor, now make a two-hander
Dorn approve

Not only Space Marines, imagine all the comissar, guardsmen and Lord Castellan Creed cosplays
Where does one find that purity seal, my old 3D printers crave the omnissiah’s blessing
Releasing soon!
Saw this on Reddit, really cool work.
The rotary compact internal combustion engine that Liquid Piston makes can fit into such a sword.
The purity seal is so spot on ahahahahahah
files already downloaded, gonna see how good I really am at this....
Are the files already uploaded? I can't find them on the Patreon
i bet you guys used "auto cadian" for this project^^
@@RayS013 underrated comment
The forge broke before the guard did
18:26 By the Emperor! It's so sharp it ripped right through the bitrate!
The Warp affects the video at 18:27, right when we want to see his reaction...send in the Grey Knights to fix this at once.
Finest armament from the Forge!

Brother! Bring me the fabric scissors. The HEAVY fabric scissors!
Alex Geek Workshop has been making these for a little while. He's got a couple different models of chainsword, and a chain axe. 3D printable, and all go vroom.
Hell yeah that's absolutely badass.
You guys are doing awesome content in sure your friends and family are proud 🙏
Thanks for the kind words!
Beautiful work
Galactic Armor in 2050:
Today, we're building a Dreadnought.
Don't temp us...
@GalacticArmory A Dreadnought can be thousands of years old. For a human to be alive for that long is a revolutionary feat of technology and medicine.
Most builders trying to recreate artefacts from 40k forget to ask for the blessings of the machjne spirit. The Emperor Approves.
The Omnissiah approves of this build.
Yellow hazard stripes would have worked as well.
There is one slight critique... the chain is rotating in the wrong direction. The exposed part of the chain should travel - Tip to Handle, you have it going Handle to Tip.
Overall it is a great build
It’s the video frame rate like how wheels spin backwards at high speed
yeah, it's just a rolling shutter effect. The teeth move tip to hilt.
Amazing chainsword! I want one too! Anyway can we get the full text of the purity seal? is too much funny ahahah
In your guys hands it just look like a stubby grip eviscerator chainword but I do love the purity seal text. Blessed be thine machine for it is blessed by the Machine God and its machine spirit brutal yet magnificent.
LOL Ron basically a Tech Priest..
They need to 3d print him a tech priest outfit for these vids 😂
Space Ki...I mean, Emperor be praised! 🙏🏻
its so funny that the chisels on her would cores so much kick back its unreal, one day they will add ramped depth gages lol yes i am a forester
For the emperor! awesome work brothers
Great work
11:11 "i think the emperor provides" 😂 indeed he does
No one : Oh that's cool !!!!
Us Army : We need this.
I think it's the other way around. *Everyone* thinks this is cool, not no one.
I knew this day would come!!!
But I wanna build one NOW 😭😭😭
The concept of putting a sharp chain on a bar has been around for a long time
This is amazing! I've been thinking about jumping into the specialist tier as I just got my first 3d printer a few months ago, but I have a question. Are the files cut up for smaller printers?
Yup. We printed these all the parts on X1Cs, so they're ready for small printers.
@Stab_GalacticArmory Thanks for the reply! Sounds like it's time to sign up!
Bravo! Super epic results!!!
we use chain oil to help the chain move, is it low speed stopping it heating up in the guide bar ?
Do you think you could make a b2 or b1 battle droid costume it would be awesome.
He is just doing ehat they do with chainsaes same badic principles very cool ❤
To echo some other comments I saw, can you guys work on your sound mixing? I found that i had to keep turning the volume up to hear you speak and then down for the music
@xK90000x yep it'll be better in the future, our bad
Echt Cool! Wie wäre es mit einem Sound Modul für das Motorengeräusch?
That Ron guy is super likeable. Low-key and doesn't use the typical youtuber-voice and facial exaggeration. Also clearly talented.
........and a Chainaxe too? 😜
Now that we've got the technology it won't be too hard!
@@GalacticArmory Khorne will be pleased.

I love the design of chaos chainsword
It's very... Phallic.
Will buy immediately let me know !
Nuuuuuts I need one! And may I add a relic bolter to the wishlist?
is it shutter speed on the camera or does the chain move backwards? i suspect its the shutter speed that makes it seem like its moving backwards.

He Betrayal on my Istvaann III till I Flight of Eisenstein
had the idea to put in one of those small toy engines and power the chain like that
Love this…To serve the Emperor's Will!
Is there a behind the scene for the fusion 360 work on this either on youtube or through the patreaon?
I'm only sort of joking when I say this but I'm surprised GW hasn't tried suing you into oblivion for making these

The codex astartes does support this action 🐸
What software did you use for the 3D modeling?
It's a mix of Blender and Fusion360
Do you guys use fusion solidworks or something else?
Can you reverse the direction?
The chainsword moves tip to hilt and it cannot reverse direction with how the mechanism is designed.
I'd Just like to point out that that was a Mechanicum purity seal, and as such it should have a cog not an aquila.
Goddamnit I wish I had a 3d printer
This made me harder than terminator armour, In the name of Dorn and the Emperor, let the purging commence!
