Verdy, I love your silence. You sit there quietly thinking and only commenting when you have something important and relevant to the movie. I'm so glad that you decided to react to Godfather 3. It brings closure to the story.
But we are watching for her reaction, not the movie itself.
😺Verdy!!! 😺 Glad you decided to watch this! Back in the day when it came out... Many nominations for awards, made much money at the box office. The nominations for awards speaks volumes! Many people I know loved it when it came out as I did! Vincent is a Great Character! Perfect even! So part of the things with this movie is the director casting his daughter as Mary... For me - she made a very good performance!!! For me it was heartbreaking that Mary died.
This film plot was inspired by an actual banking scandal involving the Vatican. Wynona Ryder was originally going to play Micheal’s daughter, but was ill, so Coppola had his daughter Sophia step in. Later Coppola cast Ryder in his film Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Sophia went on to direct films like her father.
Sophia's a talented director.
And has won numerous awards including Oscars for her screenplay of "Lost in Translation", Golden Globes, Golden Lion and Cannes awards in her career.
@@johannesvalterdivizzini1523 LIT is a great film.
I’m glad you watched GF3. I think there was just too much expectations to live up to the high standards set by GF and GF2, for why it suffered criticism when first released. Over time GF3 has been gaining more acceptance and in its own right is a good film. We see the final story of The Corleone Family.
You watched “The Coda Edition” which cut the final seconds from the end. Just after elderly Michael puts on the sunglasses he sits in the chair, then keels over, and falls off the chair and dies, alone except for a puppy next to him.
If you think about it, Mary’s killing likely tore that family apart with anger, sadness, and guilt from different people in the family towards Michael. Which probably explains why Michael is old and alone at the end.
There was talk of a GF4 movie around Vincent as the Don, but Mario Puzo (the book’s author) passed away. Coppola decided not to move forward with a film without Puzo, so GF4 was scrapped.
I like this one too. I don't know why everyone hates it.
Everybody dont hate it it still has a rating of 7.6/ on IMDB it just that the other two are rated as some of the best movies of all time. Godfather 1 is rated 9.2 and Godather 2 is rated 9.0.. so Godfather 1 is number 3 movie of all time in ratings and number 2 is number 7 of all time and number 3 is way down the list but still 7.6 is still not a bad rating compared to most movies but when you got 2 of the 10 best movies of all time of course everybody will always say it falls a little short compared to the others
@@mixedpleasure4324I totally agree with your assessment on the ratings of the 3 movies.
I'm just saying from personal experience that people use the word 'sucks' when describing the GF 3 to me. And there's always people in the comments section of other reaction channels telling them not to waste their time watching past GF 2 because it's terrible.
@@trotter73ca Yeah its a shame when people put it down like it a total sh!t show when it really just a fine movie but I agree with most people that Godfather 1 and 2 is better and both are movies I have watched many times over and over again.. Movie 1 and 2 i properly seen 25 time each while the 3th movie I properly seen 6-7 times since it falls a little short and when you know the plot of Godfather 3 then when you watch it again and again it really not that interesting while movie 1 and 2 you can always watch imo but all of them are of course worthy of a watch
@@mixedpleasure4324Agreed. I think Alien 3 gets beat up for the same reason.
This is the re-cut Coda version. Try to find the original cut, and you will see why it's bad. 😂
I always liked this movie too
A Fourth Godfather film was in development which would have pulled a Godfather: Part 2 and be both a Prequel and a Sequel. The Prequel elements would have been set in the 1930s and tell of Don Vito's rise in Power to where he was when we first met him in the first film. The Sequel elements would be set in the 1980s where we would see Vincent lose everything the Corleone Family built and complete the 100 year long Rise and Fall of the Corleone family
35:54...Yeah, I liked it lots, too...Garcia and Wallach were great, Cool to see Neri still Michel's number 1., and now he'll be Vicnent's. But the ending, Ohhh so sad..He died alone and lost his family. ( You know Kate and Tony probably never forgave him )
The death of his daughter kills him inside. #TheTitle
I have to say, that I also like the Godfather 3. In my opinion, Michael is a tragic figure and the tragedy goes back to his first murder in the first film. There is also a touch of the King Lear about the ending. Lear’s favourite daughter is hung and he dies of a broken heart.

well done for watching this. many dont. i really like it too.
Coppola’s daughter was gorgeous.
Dirty Laundry - Don Henley (We can do "The Innuendo", we can dance and sing
When it's said and done, we haven't told you a thing We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!)
Verdy has my heart ❤ 😊
It's not bad movie at all. It's just called "bad", because it's not as great as the first two, but it's still very good. I personally like it almost as much as the first two.
This is the re-cut Coda version. The original cut had more incest scenes.
This one gets a bit spat on, but I think it's sort of unfairly. I mean, the first two are a hard act to follow.
Thx. You're intelligent, got a lot of the guessing right.
The whole story is with the moral of crime never pays.
Everything Michael does for his family and legalize
his business fails, and instead he loses everyone he loves. Peace.
Obviously one and two were the better movies but I thought this one was a good sequel. I like to see past characters in the movie even if just briefly. There was a glimpse of Vincent's mother in the beginning part 3 and who was also in Godfather Part I. Sonny was seen leaving her apartment in the original.
You are one of the best reactors out there ❤ thanks.
😊 u r beautyful and very smart
I love you Verdy❤❤
This 3rd movie is still a very good movie. The problem is when it is compared with the one and two... It was more than complicated to top this high level.
Watch the detailed analysis of the Godfather trilogy on my channel!
The "Coda" is a recent recut, and is far better than the theatrical release. The entire trilogy is beautifully served by this version, because it gives the widest view of everything that went before, the poor Sicilian roots right to the very pinnacle of the Catholic Church that nurtured it, so all the horror and grief in Michael's scream over Mary's body becomes as powerful as any representation of fate in Greek tragedy: "This is the price you pay for the life you choose"
I was looking forward to this one 😁
My condolences.
A lot of people dumped on this movie. It could never live up to the first two. It was still nominated for best Picture.
There were some questionable casting choices. George Hamilton wasn't bad in this but he was kind of a punchline to joke at this point in his career. Andy Garcia was okay, he was a really hot young actor at this point but his career didn't really take off. And Sofia, although a very good director now, was a poor actor. People attacked her casting saying she was ugly, which was cruel and stupid, because he is quite beautiful, IMO.
Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen) wouldn't accept a role because he wanted ac lot more money than Coppola was willing to pay. He had said he didn't think a third movie was necessary because the story was complete and that the only reason it was being made was for more money so he wanted more money.
The biggest story problem i have with this is Michael's rather mild reaction to his nephew having an affair with his daughter. And Kay being pretty blasé about it. To a Sicilian, that would have been an "infamnia" and would have been dealt with more harshly.
Some nice ties to the previous movies:
They do say that Vincent was Sonny's illegitimate son. He mother was Lucy Mancini, Connie's brides maid that Sonny was folling around with in GFI.
When they go to Sicily and visit Don Thomasina, he is the man who was looking after Michael when he was hiding out after shooting Solozzo and Capt McClusky. He also was with Vito when he carried out his vendetta against Don Cicci, who had killed his family. In the flashbacks in GFII he is shown getting shot in the leg asv they are escaping after Don Cicci's murder. In GFI, with Michael is on n Sicily, he is walking with a brace on his leg and crutches. Here in GFIII, he is in a wheelchair.
Iconic line from this is, 'Every time i think I'm out, they pull me back in!"
rented it on amazon never finished it, thanks for trying though
The goodfather is perfect, like a good 🍷

If you like The Godfather, you need to watch Once Upon A Time In America with Robert De Niro. I personally think it's just as good as The Godfather films.
I don't think the movie is widely disliked.......... it's just not considered a worthy sequel of the other two titans......... part of the reason is the casting of Coppolas daughter as Mary..... that took a lot of criticism from the movie goers and critics....... I think it was still a good movie on its own merits.... particularly Al Pacino's Stellar performance
It was the original incest scenes that creeped everyone out. They were cut in this version.
It's not as bad as the rap it gets. It's the worst of the three, but the first two set such a high bar.
Eres una hermosura! 😘

While not on par with the first two films, I still find this movie fascinating and engaging. I just wish the director would have cast a real actor to play Mary. I love Sophia Coppola's films, but she's no actor.
Pleas, coud you do reaction to movie Interrogation direct by Ryszard Bugajski. This is so great but underrated movie.
3 isn't anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be
