Im not a huge fan of low proof whiskey but the Kirkland isn’t bad at all. I mix it with Diet Coke. As for crown I like it but there are far better whiskeys you can buy that are much higher proof at the same price point. The Kirkland is great if you are looking to throw down some drinks and get tipsy. Getting drunk for under 5$ is a good time
I know I’m going to regret this, but here goes. I’m already kicking myself. I’m in Texas and as such, Costco cannot sell liquor. That being said, Costco does have a separate liquor store within the same facility. I was told that the Royal Canadian Small Batch Canadian Whisky was the Kirkland branded Canadian whisky. My price for a handle of it, 1.75 L, is $30 vs $47 for Crown Royal. It was a small adjustment. I normally mix with Diet Coke. Crown Royal now tastes like pickle juice in comparison. The Royal Canadian has a neutral pleasant whisky flavor. It’s not crazy, but I’m mixing it down anyway. I tried the High Ridge from Spec’s and it’s way too busy with Black Walnut which I don’t especially like. It’s not bad, but not what I want. Royal Canadian is one of the best kept secrets out there. For the price and for me it’s just the way to go.
@@liquorcamp Yeah, funny story, the Costco liquor store was out of Crown. I reluctantly bought the Royal Canadian based on a recommendation from the store person and his experience with other customers. No looking back now.
Don’t know what this lady is talking about. Been drinking Crown Royal my entire life and decided to purchase the Costco “copycat version” to give it a try. Was “slightly” similar but definitely not the same. Will stick with the Crown and buy it on sale when I can.
Hi Christina, suggest you do a comparison test of Crown Royal and Canadian Club.
Going on the list now. Thanks for the great suggestion.
For $20 for the Kirkland there’s no comparison I’ll take the Kirkland all day.
Exactly. We’ve often used the two as interchangeable. Love them both it’s hard to beat Kirkland prices.
Kirkland is darn good Canadian whiskey
Completely agree.
Costco Bourbon is a personal favorite 😍
Great bourbon at a great price! they have picked wonderful partners and all their Kirkland spirits
@@liquorcamp What's the costco bourbon closest to in comparison?

Thanks for sharing! We have not tried the Royal Canadian small Batch… That will be changing for sure.. I will need to try it against the Kirkland 🥃😊

Gonna get both just in case 😉
That is a solid plan. Love it!
@@liquorcamp Craziness. Kirkland wins by an eyelash
Not the same. I have an almost full bottle of the Kirkland under the sink for friends and family who want some whisky.
I love it, it’s the “for when company comes over” bottle. Perfect.

Do it blind.
We’ve been toying with doing some blinds. We’ll put this combo on the top of the list.
Kirkland kicks Crown in the ass IMO. Crown is too sweet, not a fan of that.
Crown is definitely sweeter, we also keep some Kirkland around 🥃
