Yes she is a true queen and a serious minded woman who will call out the BS by showing what's real and what really matters to the world, ignoring the haters and deranged. 🐎
I'm in the UK. Was born after blackbird was written. I knew the meaning of the song. I'm a black woman. I like both versions of the song. Hearing Beyonce's version after not hearing the song , for many years, made me cry. It just touched me. made me think.
Beyonce is polarising. Unfortunately people tend to look for critiques for her every move instead of just enjoying the ride. I love their cover and the exposure it's brought to these insanely talented women.
Exactly. Not only are these artists getting exposure from being on such a big album, they are getting coin from being performers on it. TS Madison said that her spoken word on Renaissance had her listed as a co-writer so she gets a check. It'll be the same I suspect with all of these women, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Linda Martell.
@@yolandayoung7462 Polarizing • to cause something, especially something that contains different people or opinions, to divide into two completely opposing groups - and why she is polarizing that’s a very good question. Probably because she’s one of music biggest stars, who doesn’t conform to what people expect from her.
@@casiedomingos5197 I am well aware of the theoretical definition of polarizing. But, thank you. The question dealt with "why"? What about her music divides or drives people into opposing groups. Your response suggests that those who dislike that she does not "conform" are the issue -- not Beyonce. This means, she is not polarizing -- they are intolerant. If you don't like her music, simply don't listen to it. If you don't think she can sing country, that's an opinion -- and you know what they say about opinions.
Forget the haters! This album isn't just musicality at its highest. It's not just a clear sign of just how much of a force of nature Beyoncé is. It's not just an amalgamation of art, creativity, herds of genre, and vocals out of this world. Even more than all of these, RENAISSANCE Act I & II is a heralding to the good and excellence in we as a people. It's our new black anthem, our new gender frame, our new race call, our new religion wave (one word) = LOVE! #WeLoveYouBey #WeLoveOneAndAll
People hate Beyonce for merely existing. But hey, there are people who don't believe in GOD also. Moral of the story, THERE'S ALWAYS GONNA BE A HATER & SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T BELIEVE IN YOU. 🤦🏽♂️ But be mindful, that for the handful of miserable haters... there's MILLIONS of others who will believe in you & support you as well. I love the song. Tbh I didn’t know these artist till they were featured on Beyonce album. She achieved exactly what she wanted to achieve which was exposure for these women and still acknowledged the ones that have already been established. Win win and win!!!
It really upsets me that people are in these young ladies' comment sections telling them that they should have gotten a bigger part on the song, that Beyonce could have done more for them, etc. These young women who are just starting their musical careers just got one of the biggest breaks by being featured on a beloved song covered by an international megastar. Misery truly loves company and make no mistake that the people commenting that crap are miserable. Anyway, congratulations to Ms. Tiera, Tanner, Reyna, and Brittney! I hope they continue to be proud of what they accomplished and go on to have thriving careers. The song is a lovely cover and I've been replaying it nonstop since the album came out. 💜
They're happy, ecstatic, satisfied and that is all that matters. And those same desillusioned people would cry, do cartwheels, vomit and piss if Beyonce allowed them to say a word on her album, one song only.
I feel so vindicated! I've been listening to these ladies for a while, and I was hoping they'd get in the charts, and this will definitely do that. And I'm a huge fan of Bey already so this is such a big shift, we needed this moment 😭🙌🏿
Social media generation is a very hateful community. Love what Bey continues to do with her music. She pays homage to her past and inspires and pushes the next generation. All the while cementing her own legacy. Amazing
I emotional when I realize the significance of the song. How can someone ever say she’s not talented or she’s not thoughtful when she’s putting together a project. Hearing Paul McCartney say the reason he wrote this is because of the civil rights movement and people weren’t being allowed to do certain things that was a human right. For Beyoncé to make this entire album solely because of how she felt at the CMA’s, and not feeling welcomed. When she had every right to be there that they had if not more. Daddy lessons is a country song. She came out with a country group. Her looking into the meaning of the song and picking that particular song to put on this particular album. That how you know a lot of thought was put into this. She’s a great artist she’s an amazing singer. I really hope this album does great and it opens doors for other black country artists.
I’ve always loved the song “Blackbird”: As a black woman of a certain age - growing up in the 1970s - I’ve hummed and sang along to Paul McCartney’s version for as long as I can remember; and we learned the inspiration behind it in grammar school. So when I heard Beyoncé’s cover, I was so very pleased - It’s an absolutely gorgeous rendition (and I’m so happy for the young artists included!) I taught that song to my son when he was a toddler - big Beatles fan, that kid! Now, he’s 17 years old and plays both piano and guitar; we can enjoy Beyoncé’s “Blackbird” and the whole *Cowboy Carter* album together.
Listened to the album last Fridyay. "Blackbird" was done beautifully. Loved the songs, and her singing opera was fantastic. She showed the range of her voice. Finally, Jolene was all that!!
So, from my research, Beyonce had a lot of these songs already recorded 5 years ago. Cowboy cater was supposed to be Atc I. Outside of everyone already recording these songs, no one knew what would be chosen for the albums.
I love it. I love the song, I love the meaning behind the song. I love that every tho this album was probably done over a year ago she went back and added some black country girls who may not be well known. Even the ladies who only sing background will be known. Do ppl realize we know Beyonce background singers and her dances by name? That’s how much her fan base is in tune with her.
I can't believe Dionne Farris Wild Seed - Wild Flower was the first album you bought. That's so cool. You really are a real one. Thank you for using your platform and your voice to celebrate black women. Thank you for being able to say Black with your full chest and not shying away from uncomfortable topics. Thank you for always being fair, honest and fiercely thorough when it comes to your research, knowledge and sharing your opinion. Thank you for the content you create and the content you actively choose not to create (cough cough diddy). Thank you for the things you say and the things you don't (cough cough cough refusing to say Tina Turners first husbands name). Thank you for making a safe space for people who don't always have one. Thank you for your moments of vulnerability and sensitivity. You are seen and appreciated. And since you like Dionne Farris, if you haven't already, go check out Goapele and Dionne Farris - Same Ole Love Anita Baker tribute. It'll put the biggest smile on your face. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I am so very excited for all these young women. The entire album is a masterpiece. May this body of work continue to educate, entertain, and shed light on the featured artists.
I love how you said Beyonce said take your wings and fly to the other beautiful country artist on Blackbird made me cry even though these women have been working hard before this collaboration this is just an extra boost ❤ i love your thoughts and aspects on the song 👏👏👏
you are the first reviewer to point out that she’s was just trying to get the ladies name out there, so folks would go look up their music. It’s the negativity for me. I pray she never takes the negativity to heart.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m very grateful for your in depth research and insight! You’re connecting all the dots here! You’re def are invited to the Cowboy Carter BBQ 😂❤ much love from a Blackbird from Detroit.
This makes me cry. I didn't know Paul McCartney wrote it as a tribute to black girls during the Civil Rights movement. The fact that Beyonce covered this with other black women country singers is touching. You were only waiting for your moment to arise!!!!
Black Bird was written for the Little Rock Nine who integrated an all White school. The Little Rock Nine were nine African American students who enrolled at Little Rock Central High School in 1957, becoming the first African American students to attend the school. The students were: Minnijean Brown, Terrance Roberts, Elizabeth Eckford, Ernest Green, Thelma Mothershed, Melba Patillo, Gloria Ray, Jefferson Thomas, and Carlotta Walls.
I think when you work with her you sign a NDA saying you won't leak what you did with her and a contract that agrees to a fixed upfront payment and maybe royalties if the work is ever published. However, you never really know for sure if what you work on will be used and when.
I know that some artists record like 100+ songs for the album and have to narrow it down for the final cut. I think most featured artists, they aren’t always sure if their song will make the album until at least the track list is released, or even until the album comes out.
But all you hear is Beyonce stopped this person or that person's career, yet here she is helping these artists. Yeah, hate is real. Y'all haters can forget it. Queen B is an institution!!!
I love how Beyoncé is making music not only for herself, but to uplift those around her who have been disenfranchised. A true queen ❤

Bullshit. She's a murderer along with her husband. Ask Cathy. 😡
So glad you put in Paul McCartney's explanation of the song. I'm 63 years old and I knew the meaning behind Beatles songs a long time ago.
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard (referring to the original) I had no idea of the meaning and history of the song. Amazing!

The fact that you are hip to Dionne Farris who has my favorite cover of Blackbird ever is impressive!
Really good commentary! And you are exactly right. I hope people watch the featured women here on UA-cam and stream them on Spotify and iTunes.
This alone makes the album worth it. Absolutely loved that they came together for this
