Had to smile - my wife's family lived in Joseph for 100 years. They had 40 acers and a cabin "up by the old mine." Everybody talked about the old cabin - but nobody ever went - the family finally sold it around 2015.

Hey you visiting where I grew up. I'm from Parowan Utah 29 miles from Cedar City. Those mountains you are in are just east of Beaver. So cool of you to be in south western Utah. The mountains in Southern Utah are spectacular.
I was missing Utah my old home state...you helped me so much get a little bit back on this video. Thank you wonderhussy...it sure is beautiful in those mountains...ahhhh😉😇☺☺☺
Hi, I'm an old person, missing my State of Utah as well! Now living on the Mountains of the Appalachian's in western North Carolina. 👋 I sure don't miss all the snow though..lol.😄
Thanks for taking the time to sit and share the experience with those of us who can't get there. So considerate! Dell - a small valley, usually among trees. Nice vocabulary. Love ya, WH!
I've seen a bit of Utah. Certainly glad you had a chance to poke around there. Nice wandering mountains and forests for a change, I'm thinking. Thanks for sharing, Sarah Jane...and much love.
We were up there a few years ago, we went to The Rock House on the other side of the highway 89, it ended up being a private residence where the old gentleman who lived there took us down to his basement to sell us rocks. Kinda creepy but we survived and left with some nice rocks. We did have a moment where we all looked at each other in terror though.... LOL.
This is a story I read in the book Under The Banner Of Heaven by Jon Krakauer: When Joseph Smith told his first (and only legal) wife Emma that God had told him that he had to have more than one wife, Emma Smith responded that if Joseph got to have more than one wife, then she should get to have more than one husband. Apparently a few days later, Joseph got another message from God. This one said: "All Mormon women, ESPECIALLY EMMA SMITH, cannot have more than one husband."
Great video WH. Beautiful area and history. Listening to tails and embellishment really adds to the adventure of the 1894 mine. Thanks, be well, be safe, peace.

Beds with ropes is where the saying, “ Sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite” came from. You made sure the ropes were tight so there was no sagging and the mattresses were usually stuffed with cow and horse hair, attracting bugs etc. Great video!
This was interesting WH. Thanks I loved it. WH they used pulled by ropes with pullies. So the men could pull them with balance. I think there’s a reason I was born when I was. God knew when to have me come into this world. I love Aspen trees.
You mentioned that breathing was hard just walking around. And being 10,000+ feet is tough to do. Just imagine working in a mine with minimal fresh oxygen and back breaking sweat for just a couple bucks!!! Life now is a whole lot easier than 130 years ago. THANK GOODNESS!

Wonderful Video. And welcome to Utah I definatly enjoy your videos. I can definatly show you some neat history we have. I explore the many and multiple mines we have here totally off grid and in some remote places. I love to tell the history of the area. i just got done filming a mine (Underground) that will need multiple visits it was a gold, silver, and copper.
I was hoping the camera didn’t fall or you get stuck , because we would have seen you on the news about a UA-camr getting stuck in a mining cabin. It’s is very beautiful in the high mountains.
Beautiful mountain forest. Hard work to grub out a bit of gold. You should get a deal with the Home Depot people. You keep mentioning them in these videos. Keep up your great work, Wonderhussy. 😎
can't help but pass this on. Brigham's scouts who found the Salt Lake valley, came back to the wagon train and told Brigham that it was a perfect valley. " All we will have to do is fish and f..." Brigham replied "salt the water!"
Great video again Sarah. You say you were up there for a month, but just wondered if you would be heading back to Death Valley to make a video about all the recent floods and damage there. Would love to see that. Thx. 🙋♂️👏👏🇬🇧
