    Tom died at 87 in 1997, outliving his 2 son's...it's in the Reno paper. Said he was a miner and prospector. He and Rita are on the 1950 Census in Ramona, CA. He was 40 and she was 20! They must of just started having kids right after that. She lived to 2001, age 72.

      Good find. I'm not far from Ramona. Living even part time in that cabin must have been rough unless they had a trailer or rv as well with a generator. Something had to power that refrigerator.

    Alright, this video jumps up near the top of my list of favorite Wonderhussy vids. The evolution of the story, as you discovered it, was perfect. It's a wonderful reminder that eventually we all become "history" to someone else, so it's best to treat someone else's history with respect.

    I graduated from high school 4-months before you were born! '76 was a completely awesome year for me. I miss those much simpler days a lot! It was Ford vs Carter for president. I drove a green Vega POS. The bicentennial celebration on the 4th was HUGE. Spider bikes were on their way out. Sadly, disco reigned supreme, but there were also lots of top-notch rockers that turned into legends.

      Great explanation .

    • @bravofighter
      @bravofighter 2 роки тому +2

      I’m a good dowser, but I use wire. It works on electromagnetic fields, every molecule has a polarity. When all the molecules of soil are poled in every direction, and suddenly they’re all pointed in one direction, the wire or branch dive right for it. The guy who taught me how called it a witchin’ stick, but then I asked a few other old timers and they showed me to use stiff wire, bend it into a long L, and hold it loosely in my hand, then walk along where the surface clues lead you to believe water might be there. Suddenly, the wire will jump itself in your hand, and dive right to the ground. Turn it the other way in your hand, so it swings left to right, and it’ll tell you what direction it’s running. Then you get a feel for how strong the pull is, and it tells you if it’s a trickle. Be advised, a water or sewer pipe under the ground will act the same way as natural ground water, so BE CAREFUL!

    It's super cool that you found the backstory to this cabin and property, so you could connect the dots, learn the truth and confirm or deny your earlier speculation (CSI Death Valley). I don't think I've ever seen that happen in your videos before now. so it's pretty cool to see a real-time evolution. It's also cool you found the Rosetta stone to this site after you already explored most of it and came up with your own story and narrative. If you would have found the fridge note first, it would really change how you went about looking over the site.
    Lastly, as always, you have some serious balls, going through all these old, crusty dwellings and ruins, covered in animal excrement, in your sandals and without gloves or even socks. This one even made you a bit reticent and hesitant to wander around and go poking around, but you did it and all of us viewers benefitted from it. Since you've been doing this for years and have always got along just fine, you'll probably be fine for years more to come. Still, I am a man and I'd never have the balls to do what you do, without solid shoes/boots and sturdy gloves. That you do, is pretty badass, IMO.

    Love this!! Love when you explore abandoned places. I love old newspapers, magazines...even collect old menus. Love to see a bottle of beer ten cents back in the day. I want that Fonzie towel...it would match my Fonzie mug!! Aaaaaaaay 👍

    Way cool !! Most captivating explorer video of the month. We'll done.
    They made a living and raised a family miles from civilization and they did it by working a small mine by hand. Wow! This would make a great book or movie. I wonder what they were mining. This story might be well worth continuing.

    Dowsing done by downers is done with dowsing rods or divining rods. Water dowsing is also done with a forked willow limb. Many people can do it. I have seen it work. What most people don t know is you can purchase a new version of dousing rods. They are made with two plastic rods that come out of a plastic bottle. The bottle contains whatever you want to douse for ie water sand , oil sand , precious metal and so on. Love your videos keep up the great work !!!

    The Avon Moonwind cologne was very popular in the 1970s. I have some perfume bottles with the scent still inside. The logo on the bottle is the Roman goddess Diana with her hunting dogs.

    water diviner= movie staring Russell Crow; 2014.// also water witch using a forked stick to find deposits of water and ores. I can do it, it's a really weird feeling when the stick pulls down to point at the deposit.

    Just love your videos when you explore and make up the story of what went on at the cabin. I can't believe you found the file folder that was written on with the info which really tells us who they were. Thank you for all of your inquisitiveness so as to provide us all with an enjoyable video. :)
