Really great video. I have been waiting for a long time to begin because i thought it would be too difficult and i was afraid to do something wrong. Finally, it's one of the easier cars i've worked on ^^. My car is a s80 II but it's the same engine than yours so it helped me so much and it's the only ( at least the first) i foud on internet. Thanks a lot 👍😀
Thank you for your video and advice, especially the English sub titles. I have a Volvo xc60 2010 and the engine layout is very similar to this engine. The advice I would give to others is I had difficulty undoing the 8mm nut that holds the plastic timing belt cover in place and a long 8mm socket is needed ( a standard 8mm socket is to short and the 1/4 drive wrench will not work).
For some extra advice to othersI found that my timing belt cover had a hose clip fastened with a 10mm nut and once this was removed I needed a long reach 8mm socket to undo the bolt that was holding the cover firmly in place. I found that by jacking up the engine it gave much easier access to this 8mm bolt.
Wow finally English subs , I am watching most of your videos even though I don’t understand Swedish much, with inspiration and knowledge I got from you I changed break discs(back) and pads on my xc60 successfully , big thanks for you and keep it going with English subs , also can you please make some repair or accessories installation videos on xc60. Thanks and regards
Good video! But isn't there any camsaft pulley sync fine tuning afterward needed by the larger holes in the camsaft pulley? I have done some VAG motors and with the new belts the timing was always off altough the belt and pulleys teeth matched because of the differences in belts. Fine tuning needed some diagnostic equipment wich allowed you to see the actual timing.
Thanks! Very good vid! I see, this mk3 V70 timming belt and water pump replace / change is so much easier work than older, mk2, because it have more working space at hands. Good design and made, this place at Volvo.. Volvo is good and strong.. ! 🤗👍
Mycket bra video! I samband med rembytena bör man kolla generatorns frihjul. Ett låst frihjul leder snart till brott på generator- och servopumpsremmen. Finns flera UA-cam-videor som beskriver hur man löser detta

Great video up until you undid the AC pump to change the belt. The "SF" at the end of the belt number (3PK628SF) stands for "Stretch Fit" You stretch off and then stretch the new one on.
That's right , i did like this. You turn the pulleys, you pull the belt at the same time, toward the upper exterior double pulley and then it's loose enough to take it off.

Hello, Specific tools like timing lock OE 9997122 and Crankshaft Pulley Holding Tool OE 9995433 seem not necessary, it is correct ? or they are mandatory for timing belt replacement on another engine type such as D5244T ? Thanks
Hi François, Not mandatory for the D5244T if you just replace the timing belt kit. If you do go further ( cankshaft seal replacement, etc, I would recommend the locks tho.
