It's probably the best and clean explanation of changing power steering fluid! Thanks!
Sir... you just don't miss a single detail... great job.. Thank you so much.
Impressive work. Really clean, methodic, thorough. I wish mechanics could dedicate this time and effort to my car.
This video is top drawer, thank you. Possibly the cleanest, most thorough car video I have seen. Thanks again. No way will a shop do such a great job. Real love and care for detail.
You're a maestro whom is very generous to share your knowledge and time with us-the Volvo owners. Thank you and Thank you!
Thank you sir. Changed for my xc60 with much ease. Your tutorials are amazing. God bless.
2015.5 XC60. Two little changes{ 1) like another guy, i just stuck the discharge hose into the adapter with a little tape and a rag for insurance, and 2), i also used about 3 ft of 3/8" hose on the return line connector and clamp it off (instead of the aluminum tape you used to plug it). At the end, let it hang down and drain the reservoir- no mess, no fuss. then, put your adapter back on and fill it up. Used less than two liters. Great video!! I am subscribing.
Completely sad to see that you have 44 thumbs down because this video is AMAZING!! Thank you again for the the thorough walk through for this electronic power steering flush. This is truly a fluid exchange without any left over residue. Thank you again and will be enjoying more of your videos.
This man is so good that he doesn't even own a funnel. Great videos! Thanks 👍
Multumesc frumos pentru informații și va doresc tot binele din lume mitică la toate
I hope I'll get by with two bottles, great vid. On my 2014 V70 the lines are routed a bit differently but the turn and return lines are the same on the reservoar. Kind of surprising the bottle doesnt have a filter element like most german ZF systems have. Especially when this isnt part of a regular service. Thank you for your time to make this for all of us Volvo guys :)
Thanks so much for this video. You are the only one of these UA-cam videos to show how to release the clip on the return line. I would have probably broken it getting it off without this video. Anyway I was able to replace the reservoir and flush the system ( no more whining water pump) on my 2008 S80. This is the quietest it’s been since I bought the car 7 months ago!
Чистейшее подкапотное пространство! Супер.
Did it today with Pentosin fluid chf 202. same fluid as volvo. Thanks for the video!
I followed your method with my 2007 S80 and it worked great. My pump had began to make a little noise and the fluid was brown. I especially liked that I was able to clean the reservoir and the filter with your instructions. The noise is now gone. I used Pentosin CHF202 fluid that I ordered from an eBay seller which is an equivalent. Thanks.
Thanks just used your video to help with my 2008 xc70,,, love your videos... thank you.
Once more of your perfect Volvo Videos! Thanks!
Good to see you got the junk out of that reservoir. Great vid.
Great instruction. Thank you for all your excellent videos.
Thank you for all the great videos!
good video. I did same procedure on my 07 xc90. The feed line was difficult to remove so I left it on and simply cleaned out the inside of the reservoir with a clean rag using a screw driver to move it around. I wouldn't recommend brake cleaner as used here unless can indicates safe for plastic. I liter of Pentosin CHF 202 did the job.
Thank you for this video. Just did mine today and used this video as a guide. I am incredibly grateful for your videos!
Very enjoyable to watch, you made it look 👀 so easy. Thank you .👍🏻😊👍🏻
Спасибо! Так держать!👍
You use a lot of stuff. And this is my way to do perfect job. Thanks bro this video helped me a lot. Before I go . You are ginus. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are like a doctor!
I went into this repair with a whining pump and now it is quiet with a very faint whine if u listen closely. The trick is to bleed the system extensively as shown in other bleeding UA-cam vids. Thx for your work volvosweden.
Thanks I will be doing the same to my S80 soon!
thank U, I've just done this operation, due to you; very good videos. I will add : protect your steering wheel before
Отлично , продолжайте снимать!
Салют! Спасибо тебе большое, мне это очень помогло! Успехов тебе!
Thank you very much for this help. I will be doing this on my 2008 xc90 now.
Thank you for the video sir, I did it today and all worked perfectly.
Cheers from Miami!
+felipousismix glad to hear that I was helpful. Hello from cold Manitoba Canada.
Great video, just did it today. Didn't flush out much air until we actually turned it on, and then about 1/4 drained and it stayed level after.
I like your style bro...no yapping...short and to the point
excellent detail work
Thanks, this helped me a lot.
You rock bro! Got the same volvo will be doing the hatch and tail lights... 🍻 cheers
Another superb video. Thanks.
Great video. I recommend making triple sure that the hose that you’ve connected to the return line is very very secure. Because if it’s not, when you start your car, you will have a power steering fluid volcano. Just sayin.
Awesome Video! Thank you so much!
*ля чувак я тащусь от твоего подхода и дотошности ни капельки мимо РЕСПЕК/УВАЖУХА!
Thank you. I flushed my 2008 V70 2.0 F power steering system as described here. I found that Ford power steering liquid is up to Volvo spec. and is cheaper.
This was very helpful, thanks for posting
Very nice and well done video! This might come useful some day! Thanks :)
Great video. Thanks. I leave my contribution. I just did this job in a V60, using Ford 1781003 steering mineral fluid, witch has the recomended specification. Much cheaper and easy to get.
I didn't remove the return hose from the 90° quicke adapter. Instead I used a 10mm hard tube and engaged it on the adapter like the reservoir fits in it. The incorporated filter had in fact allot of debris!
How many liters get into the system in your case? I found that Febi 46161 is also a good replacement. It is cheaper than Ford 17811003 (all those fluids meet required WSS-M2C204-A2).
@@olew1983 I fluxed it untill new clean was comming out. More than 1L, less than 2L. So I suggest you buy 2L.
@@CRBN74 Thanks. I bought 2 liters. For complete flush I used something around 1.5 liters.
все доступно и понятно!! автору уважение и спасибо за такие видео!
пс: тут даже и переводчик не нужен))
Very helpful again as are all of your videos thank you ;-)
Thank you for your help.i have exactly the same 2009 XC70 and exterior colour. It has 281.000 k looks and runs like new . Peace
Nice video, XC 70 owner
Well done, very useful. Thanks.
Super thnx to all your videos! You've helped me learn more about my car! Big effort, great job done with all the filming. I would like to learn how to flush the coolant system. Is that a future project and video? Greetings from Sweden, Stockholm and Benjamin
Great video...thanks for sharing
Just done this. Amazing difference.
Really good content and well done job!
Excelent! Thank you!
Great vid as usual !
very educative. thank you
Thanks for the video! It realy helped me with my VOLVO S80 2009.
All your video are realy great!
Thanks!
gr8 vid. very good thorough method
Hi Yuri
Another detailed video mate. Well done! We are trying to fix our S40 power steering and now have the steps.
I have an idea for a video for you regarding fixing ageing plastic parts and will send you
Great job, tanks a lot
Absolute legend!!!
just flushed in my S80 2.5T 08'. my mistake after the flush: didn't arrange the hoses back the way they were in the beginning so I couldn't get the reservoir in place and I had to unplug the feeding line to get in place. didn't extract the fluid in the reservoir with turkey baster, tired to hold it with the finger, all of the new fluid in the reservoir spilled and made a mass. other than that it was successful, thanks for the video.
Thanks very much regards Pine
Great! Thank you😃👌👍👏✌️
Thank you! Excellent
Great video
Красава)
Tnx! I manage to clean the hole system with only 2 bottles, ive also got some left in the second.
I also had to clean the filter with a toothbrush because the black dirt was stuck even with the brake cleaner.
good method. For those who need the quick and dirty method; I just did it by attaching a length of 1/4" vinyl tubing to a thick plastic bottle (32 oz.) cap. (drill 1/8" hole in cap, soften with a match flame and push the tubing through, use tape if needed)
Now when you squeeze the bottle you can hear it pushing and drawing air from the end of tube. stick end of tube in reservoir, hold bottle lower than reservoir, squeeze to start siphoning. refill. cap. start car and turn the wheel all the way left, right, etc.
Repeat until you can see through the fluid easily. Then, of course, leave it full and drive it.
Wash your hands before you start touching things and piss off your wife.
Good vid, thanks! 👍
Excelent !
Great video.Thx..
muy buen video buena la información no cambie piezas ante de realizar una limpieza
Excellent po
rofesional video thanks
Нечего добавить...
У себя менял аналогично, только не заводил мотор, поэтому обошелся 2 литрами жидкости, а так респект!
Back to the PS flush video...I noticed in your videos the reservoir is on the left side...passengers side looking towards front of vehicle. my 2008 has the reservoir on the driver's side. I hope they didn't change the plumbing as in pressure and return lines.
I found the CHF202 at my local AutoZone a bit pricy but locally available....this will be my next project after the struts and spark plugs.
I got the rear shock set....took a bit with getting the driver's side shock out of the lower housing but I got it.
Thank you for great video lesson. I think I will take it to the service station Volvo=
or I will try myself- I can pump out the fluid and to add new, please, but to flush and to steer.. ohlala!
Perfect 😊
Thanks
Really enjoyed the videos. Actually I enjoy all of your videos. (Thank you, gracias, grazie)
a little messier than I thought but done. took about 5 cycles to totally flush out the old PS fluid which was almost motor oil black. for the 08 models the PS reservoir isn't as easily accessible as video.....08 at least mine was in between air filter housing and engine block.....definitely get a good set of pliers to remove the spring clamp on pressure line. New fluid in no leaks and seems to run a lot better.
Hi, thank you for the video. My V70 2009 makes whining noise when I steer the wheel. Mostly when the car isn't warmed up yet. Will the change of power steering wheel oil and reservoir fix the problem?
Great!
front struts took a little longer than I thought yesterday but done and will attempt P.S flush this week.
So yesterday, I've done my first "repair" on my xc70 based on Juri's videos. I was following all instructions and so far so good :). I have maybe few tips for novice, based on my experience :). Video at 2:49 where Juri disconected feed line. Make sure, you have proper pliers, because standard pliers are too small and water pump pliers are too big. I used water pump pliers, but it takes a lot of time for me. Cca 5:10 where Juri plugged return line. It's easier to plugged this return line before you connect back the feed pipe, and make sure it's plugged well. Mine start to leak during the flushing an old oil. And the last tip, time at 5:54, connect the 3/8 hose to return line - put back on the secure ring, to make sure the 3/8 hose don't come out during the flushing process, what happend to me.
But my biggest problem was, how to serurely rise the car and put in on the stands. I never did it before, so I wasn't sure, where to locate the jack, because I want to put the stands on the spots, which is made for jack on the side of the chassis. Juri, this is my tip for your next video. How to securely rise the xc70II, which jack to use (I bought the standart jack and it's too small ) and mainly, show on the video exactly the places on the car chassis, where can be located the jack or stands and how to do it safely. Good luck everyone and Juri, thank you for a great job you doing.
@@volvosweden Juri, thank you. That video would be helpfull. Now waiting for the rams, than I will change the oil in the transmission following your instructions. Take care
@@volvosweden hey Yuri. have You done vid for these jacks points yet?
Great channel. Appreciate Your work.
I would really like to see a video of the jack stands when you have the time!
Great video. How many litres of fluid did you end up using? Judging by the old fluid in the gallon jug, it looks like just about 2 litres. Also, why does the back wheels to be jacked up? Shouldn't the front ones being elevated enough to do the job?
Great video, but where you lift the car? It's not the standard Volvo lift point
Great video, Yuri. How about radiator coolant flush?
Really handy video - I just did this! Trouble was, when I run the engine there are loads of micro-bubbles in the reservoir and the power steering goes stiff. I don’t know what I did wrong? After changing the fluid, I bled the rack by steering side to side with the wheels jacked up, until there were no bubbles. Have I introduced a fluid leak on the feed line at the base of the reservoir maybe? I’ll probably have to admit defeat and hand it over to a mechanic tomorrow as I can’t take chances with power steering 😔
That's an expensive job. Here the fluid is £17 per litre. Well executed however :)
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. By the way. Why did you briefly start and stop the engine?
🎉👍
Great vid as always! hI ave looked at all of your Volvo vids and done the inside handle lights on my own 2011 XC70. Considering doing the brake flush in the winter so looking forward to that vid! BTW, how did you end up in Canada, i take it you are from Russia?
I just did this. Thank you for this incredibly well put together video. I plan on using all your videos for reference. I really appreciate the time you took for these
