As a PvE player I was looking forward to using cryopods to transport tames to the obelisks for boss fights. Now, I am going to have to drop down a mini base, probably on a racer at each ob if that works. I worry about base spam on my server around the obelisks and caves.
Once you have the transmitter you can start bosses from there. that should help a little
Or go old skool and tame a Quetzel.
You only have to do the boss fight a few time from an obolisk. After you done that fight you're unlocked the transmitter. Then just do the boss fight from the transmitter.
I guess I am more worried about cryofridge spam around the obelisks for others. I’m the admin, so it’s my problem. 😁
The cryo mod we are currently using has configs to not allow uncryoing in caves, so I don't know why vanilla cryopods cannot be like that. Just allow us to uncryo anywhere but caves, then fridge spam will be a non issue.
Would ruin the point of the changes… most pvp players don’t like pocket gigas etc, which isn’t limited to caves
because caves arent the only reason why these were nerfed
@@SycoPlays I play pve exclusively and they are not a problem there.
@@TiiaAurora no but once again pvp will be why we can't have nice things in pve, unless WC really just wants us to have to run every tame across the map. I understand the immersion of that, but it's yet another time sink.
@@Monkeypuzzle yea, but caves aren’t a problem for pve either? So just removing cryoing in caves doesn’t help anyone.
As a single player, this doesn't affect me too much.
I've been enjoying the change in playstyle with not being able to pop out a pocket dino anywhere I want.
Still wish there was a vanilla option for single player to turn off cryo cooldown that wasn't PvE mode
I think they should remove the range limitation and the cryo timer after damage for PVE, or we will have a lot of cryofridge outposts all around the servers, especialy on official.
That might get wiped then. At least when its blocking people
@@TiiaAurorawe can’t even get admins on the server to unblock caves that are already blocked now with large dinos, we literally cannot enter swamp cave on our server, devs are not gonna come and delete fridge boxes all day every day
I 100% agree with you and I'm a PVP player I honestly don't think you should be able to throw out a hundred gigs at the front door of someone's base you should have to March them across the map true survival
i gotta admit i AM a little sad that we cannot uncryo anywhere easily anymore because it was just very convenient and im lazy, but i do understand why these changes were made and in the grand scheme of things i dont think over long that itll be that big of an impediment to me or anyone else
I was kind of hoping that cryopods wouldn't be useable in caves, and this accomplishes that.
As a PvE player I was looking forward to being able to take dinos to a friends base for a breeding session.. We used to do this on PvE and whoevers base it was had to organise a sort of gift pack for each player after the breeding was done.. This brought everyone together, but now it's not a thing and we'll remain distanced.. Should at least allow us to set our cryofridges to allow allies or others to uncryo by using them
That hive background gives me big Mindustry vibes, coincidence?
Okay, but these were released during Extinction, where you had to travel to OSD's for loot. It is going to be so much more painful to transport creatures when that drops.
Big reason why im staying on evolved as a solo player, but there is some ini settings to turn these back so well wait and see.
The bigger problem I see here is when transfering (when available) to other servers that aren't the ones you normaly play, you wont be able to use throw your creatures out unless you bring a generator and a cryofridge to be able to unpod them, and not just that, is the possibility of being able to even put it down to be able to use it, for me is non sense the releasing creatures restrictions, caves I understand for difficulty propuses, but for transporting your creatures Somewhere for a special task doesnt make sense
Time to make a quetzal outpost
question.
can i place a cryofridge on a quetzal to make it easier to bring dinos to a boss fight?
Yes you can, and everyone will, platform saddles will be spammed everywhere and it’ll tank server performance
I really do enjoy the changes. I can see a lot of people thinking that this will allow them to take tames into caves on pve and it's not going to. I don't think people realize how small the Circle actually is considering most caves have a no build range On PVE. So at the end of the day they are strictly just for storage And transport.
Agreed, the changes improve the PVE mode too.
Any testing on if being near an Ally's activated fridge will work?
I completely agree with you, the changes make them better and aren't game-breaking. Cryopods shouldn't be used in cheesy ways and this prevents that. All round good 👏
Wildcard are the undisputed kings of how to piss off your community
The alternative was "no cryos" :D
Or they could have not changed anything 😅 , I don't play pvp so it's just sort of annoying to me
@@WalterEKurtz-kp2jf yea cryos were always in a weird position and there was a discussion to not bring them back. At least we dont have that going now
@@TiiaAurora I just want my soul gun and soul balls back 😭
With how Babies HP ticks can you cryo babies? I play official pve and have been bronoto spammed. I am hopping it need to be your own/ally fridge that you can unpod from.
Get screenshots and co-ords and report them, they will get removed.
Good video.
Hopefully they come in as originally for pve. Pve official will suck.... its already hard to find land to build... now everyone's and they momas will be making cryo fobs everywhere
Agree with you. Caves for that have smaller entrances to challenge the player. But some dudes go to caves and deploy T-Rex for example and the cave was easy... really?!
the question is , can it by carry by a quetzal
All material spawns will have 1x1 boxes with a fridge inside so people can unpod ankys, all beaches or anywhere with ocean access will be claimed in order to unpod water dinos, platform saddle and raft spam will be through the roof causing more server lag and with the range being so damn small I’m just not gonna cryo any of my dinos Because it’s so annoying to get them back out, the range needs to be like 4-5x bigger, it causes so many issues that I would rather people just have an easier time inside caves than make the pillaring issues so much worse
The way I see it, other tribes progression in PvE does not effect your gameplay at all, so who cares if caves might be abit easier, if you don’t like it don’t use cryos, people are so worried about everyone else’s gameplay and for what
The biggest impact to me is being able to bring Dino's into caves. I play solo on my own one person servers. That now means doing them on foot with guns and rockets solo where a single death had a very high chance of losing everything. I think I wait for feroxes being in the game before playing again.
You can also install a mod?
@@TiiaAurora I know. But I play official server pvp settings. With very few exceptions since I want to experience the game as if I was playing solo on one. But without the crushing griefing. Exceptions being for example unlimited skill and attribute resets because I'd never be able to craft the type of equipment a tribe would have on official. And that's a requirement for boss fight saddles. No harvest boost or taming boost. But half maturation time and double imprint %. Since one person breeding many generations of yuties, gigas etc would be impossible while having a full time job. From memory a batch takes four days but only two days (weekend) to imprint.
You said you play solo no? Add the mod no sickness an can throw all out
On official and unofficial pve servers ppl are breeding dinos inside caves to use. This is cheesing yes, but it a common method and was widespread before cryos came out. (Hatch / birth them outside and get them to follow u in to a safe spot to mature.)
The reason is to have a comparative sense of achievement.
Its shocking how short sighted the developers are. I cannot believe that they are implementing these changes knowing that they will get changed after people exploit and spam and cause problems that are obvious within seconds of learning about the new mechanics. Amazing how a development team can't understand how their game is played at all.
This is a beta.
It can be easily fixed. Only one cryofridge per tribe allowed, so probably everyone will have it at their base and the obelisks works as a cryofridge, which means you can uncryo dinos for boss fights, all problem solved :)
You know most tribes have far more dinos than can fit in one cryo? Unless u mean they have unlimited capacity?@@daily_quiz_shorts
@@daily_quiz_shorts A tribe cap for cryofridges would definitely be a workable fix; assuming they still have a reasonable number of slots. Hell, go further and make sure they can ONLY be placed within a certain radius of each other.
Btw, you don't need foundations to place cryo fridges
In my testing it needed them 🤔
@@TiiaAurora Very weird. It worked earlier and it worked liked that in Survival Evolved too
Is it normal when u cryo a dino for it to drop everything in his inventory?
yes
I hold to the thought that the cryopod should stay a tek item, it doesn't fit the aesthetic of its spot (why would I know how to make a pod that absorbs a dinos essence before I could make a canteen??) So you could make it unlockable after your first boss fight (with the tek replicator and such) or even after the gamma dragon, if they wanted to make it so atleast your first run through of every cave was ran without the use of cryo pods (not necessary tho)
Most of the players have never fought a boss in Ark. If cryopods were a tek item, most people players couldn't store their dinos. And therefore the server cap on tames would always been reached.
That's a horrible idea
I am playing right now on PvE and my dinos are still getting cryosickness
Is the server also set to PvE?
At this point.
Pve is gonna be literally full of mini bases with generator and cryofridges everywhere and for pvp you are not able to raid caves, soo now with onse single change wildcard create 2 major problems, pve spam, pvp unraidble caves, very niceeeee
I dont get why they didnt disable cave building on PVP
@@TiiaAurorastrategy purpose, secure artifacts to prevent other tribes to do bosses., without the older cryopods and having Tek to secure they caves everyone in the server are not able to raid them, soo unraidble base spots.
Ark survival ascended ps5 vs ark survival evolved updated nintendo switch
Why not just give all creatures cryo- sickness based off their drag weight or something? The cryo fridge radius requirement thing is a real downer for single
players and PVE players.
They'll probably disable cryos on platforms next, ruining mobile bases
Absolutely yea, they will see obelisks covered in a tonne of quetz and just nerf it further
All these decisions with cryos and lack of configuration options just fortifies why Dino Storage was so much more superior to cryos and why I always disabled cryos on my servers and opted for Dino Storage. I get they don't want you cheesing the caves, but a simple toggle of EnableCaveRelease=false would fix that along with a bunch of other options to prevent abuse if the server owners wanted. Maybe they should look at what modders have done to improve their game for them instead of reinventing the wheel....or are we on another 7 year journey of bad decisions all for the sake of PVP because they focus more on that aspect of the game and lump PVE into the same group of settings instead of making it global settings for both aspects of the game.
But we got full configuration options
Yet another reason to pillar spam...yay
I wonder why they didn't just disallow cryos in caves? Now on pve official servers maybe only one tribe will be able to use them in each cave, you can imagine the griefing / arguments that will arise from that. I can guarantee tribes have already pillared above and around all caves just for this purpose today. Or maybe they have removing their use in caves already in mind just haven't spelt it out yet.
You cant build in caves on PvE
yes but whoever has their pillar currently at cave entrance (pve official) they will get to use the cryos in the cave as they will be able to place a cryofridge very close? I meant they will be putting pillars at cave entrance and any outside terrain where they think 'could' enable the cryos inside. Maybe I just don't get what they mean@@TiiaAurora
@@fruitbatcatPerhaps the workaround to that will be putting the cryofridge on a platform saddle, so any tribe wanting to do a cave could park a paracer or quetz right outside the cave entrance.
pvp didn't want cryos???????? what are you talking about lol caves are literally unraidable without cryos
Just repeating what PvP players told me here in the comments aka "anyone who needs cryos needs to get good in the game"
@@TiiaAurora sorry to break it to you but no amount of skill helps me fit a Dino through a cave like ice or pack
Tbh this nerf is trash, the only good thing is for base defense, specially cave defense because now your enemies can't throw stegos near your base anymore, so it's a big W for cave bases only, Aberration Shadow Cave will be invincible fr
pvp did want cryos…. lol
They told me to go "F*ck myself" when I brought up the topic. 🤣
All these nerfs and stuff (cryopod changes, rhynio nerfs, etc) it they were meant to balance pvp, why could they make them all PVP specific? Like whats wrong with leaving PVE the way it is? Like i play on my own 100% of the time, who am I gonna run up on with a rhynio carrying stegos? What players am I uncryoing a giga around to raid? I'm just tryna progress and chill with my dino peeps
those changes now are also aimed for PvE. The goal is to not have player skip certain things in the game cause they have pocket dinos.
@TiiaAurora well yeah true, the cryopod needed balancing, I just thought it'd be better to make the cryopod a tekgram again, unlocked when you unlock the tek replicator (makes more sense progressively speaking) and just have you not able to deploy in caves, open to suggestions for that tho, but the rhyniognatha things feels like it has no real "balancing" purposes for pve, or atleast in single player (or atleast just make it slower when carrying higher drag weight dinos)
@TiiaAurora Love your content btw, I'm just voicing my thoughts, I have no harmful intentions and I know at the end of the day, we really don't have a say in what happens lol
Essentially making them base only items. Garbage. Just make them tek tier again and do the enemy foundation thing for pvp. Caves should be hard but they should not remain the same difficulty for endgame players as low level new players.
I welcome these changes. 11 foundations feels like it might be bit on the short side, but we'll see how it looks live. Maybe we're able to see this range through a radial menu (like power and water). Like others have said, I'm concerned about fridge spam. I do feel that a tribe cap for fridges, and other baked in placement restrictions should take care of most of these concerns.
Everyone should boycott go back to old ark lol
If this update to cryos are true that just confirms to me the devs don’t play their own game
Mindblowing stupidity
I actually think its a right step against cheesing content
@@TiiaAurora what cheese? Taking dinos into a cave wasn’t ever a cheese, flyers maybe but even most of those cant enter caves anymore. The only people who would have nothing against this change are single players or people who literally log on to sit in their base all day. People asked for cryos and they gave us some modified bs. If they listened or even playtested their own game this wouldn’t be the case, the same as a lot of the other bugs that have been in the game since ASE
I'm just going to disable updates before my game is infected with that horrible set of ideas. Many of those changes are just stupid. Almost as if the devs hate the players.
This sort of nonsense is exactly what destroyed WoW's popularity.
I don't play PvE but how in the world will PvE players play like this, there will be spam EVERYWHERE
I am fine with some dev wipes :D
@@TiiaAurora I’m here for it ✋
These changes are just negative fun for pve players. I hope they put up a poll or something and listen to the majority, but wildcard will never do that. Thats like asking pve and pvp to be balanced seperatly. Too much work.
Don't tell me how to play the game I bought.
My biggest problem with cryos is just being able to deploy them in caves. Ruins the experience as you can easily cheese your way through a cave on the back of a rex. Although these changes are in the right direction, more need to be made.
Also, the current changes still have a lot of problems that need fine tunning.
They probably will take in the feedback now and see what changes need to be made
In PvP sure I can understand since other tribes progression directly effects your own, but in PvE everyone is playing their own game, if you don’t want to use the easy method then don’t, stop worrying about how everyone else spends their time on PvE
All these changes are going to achieve is having turrets on the Official maps EVERYWHERE as cryo outposts are going to become a thing. The devs clearly does not play the game and have no idea what they are doing atm
Awful change
PVE disagree with you 100%. Your opinion is just that...YOURS. Keep in mind, we CHOOSE how to play because we CHOOSE how to play. Why put restrictions in areas where it doesn't even affect PVP? Why does your audience need to dictate gameplay? It's ridiculous.
