I'm a 50 year old man sitting here with a grin on my face so wide it fckin hurts, This is absolutely brilliant and so well done... the timing of your smash cuts in alignment with the music just like the original opening and then when you hit us with the May 25 1977 part I think I did a little pee and squeal of glee. Awesome work.
It’s actually no joke. 97% of the crew probably worked on or knew somebody on Space 1999 - Brian Johansson who did Space 1999 was also the Special Effects Supervisor on the Empire Strikes Back. Small Galaxy
Watch this video again and see how perfectly the escape pod and exploding Death Star sync with the music. Actually, the entire edit is perfectly done. Where hyperspace is placed just before Han, to that cut to the x-wings in formation. Very dynamic. I could go on. Well done!

This makes me so very happy...I want to watch both Star Wars and Space 1999 again all at the same time now. :D
Thing is a lot of the SFX guys who worked on Space 1999 also worked on Star Wars a few years later. :)
i LOVE this re-imagined intro! If only George Lucas and Gerry Anderson met and chose to make some TV shows and movies together. Think of it!
Honestly, this made my day. Well done!
OK this is a stroke of genius. :D

I particularly loved how you used clips from the theatrical release for this brilliant mashup.
I like how you went with footage from the original Star Wars and not the episode:IV new hope directors nonsense.
I remember “Space: 1999” - GREAT SHOW!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’ve spent 52 years on this rock, and in all of that time I never realised I needed this in my life.

Works for me. Loved Space 1999 when I was a kid.
We didn’t search for it but yet here we are 😊
The release date was the icing on the cake. Wow
this video deserves loads more views...
Simply the single most satisfying thing I've watched in the whole of lockdown, both '20 and '21.
Just watched this from the Live for Films Facebook post. I grew up watching Space 1999 and Star Wars so this made me smile. 👏👏👏
The coolest thing I've ever seen. Happy Breakaway Day!!
