That was slick, Chris. It was great seeing John as well. I had wondered in the past why you had smaller piles of brush/trees when you weren't burning but hauling off, makes perfect sense. Look forward to demo day. Thanks for sharing.
Treating us to two demo projects in less than two weeks and more demo next week?! Chris, you are the best! I'm glad that your Uncle John is on the scene too, we miss him.
Good to hear the oak trees are bing saved. That culvert shore was short - now serviceable. Old shed - a story in history in demolition. Pine trees fell hard. Uncle John looks great - still goes on a wander when truck is being loaded.
Very productive day, especially with moving in equipment and expanding the culvert entrance in 1 day. You made a great start after removing the trees. Can't wait to see the old molded house cleaned up for good. Great video, Chris.
@@davidqueen4719he hit the first piece with the bucket digging it out…looked oddly like a bucket creased it…and unfortunately no video of it or the battle to install it either!…plenty of video slipping the bell end on the other side though…hmmm!
It's been a while since we say Chris's uncle John and his awesome dump truck helping Chris. That's not to bad a pile of debris for him to haul off compared to some jobs they did in the past.
Hi again Chris the shaft you pulled from the old barn is a line shaft it powered the saw mill and other belt driven machines and has been around since the industrial age which was 1800 or 19th century
Hello Chris and it’s nice seeing John again. Like everyone have wondered about how he has been going ? Or is he still doing projects, on his own ? Chris you suggested you were going to need sand and some clay. So why not build a large burn pit and then burn all the trees and timber ? 🌻
I'm happy to see Big John and you still get along, most times when people leave to go elsewhere the other guy holds a grudge and Dissolved the friendship over time! Very happy this didn't happen. Jeff really wants the metal that you spent time separating, then he should have been there also‼️👍
I love how you can operate your equipment with such precision. I with you in saving as much as you can by recycling everything you can. You have to this day and age due to elaborate increase in cost. Great job looking forward to demo of the house.
You have accomplished a lot already, of course, that was to plan, as usual. Setting those culvert tubes and making the connections, I’m thinking who needs to use force when you can just tap it in place with the excavator, sweet. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching another plan come together.
Those pulley/belt things are an overhead line shaft for a workshop where all the machines are powered from a single power source. Usually from the steam era or early ICE era.
You had me flummoxed there for a while! In our neck of the woods, demo primarily means demonstration, making me wonder if you were going to stage a "How I Do It" show of some sort for those living close enough! Re those strips of roofing metal - during the 70s the so-called Decramastic Tiles were the rage, until they were walked on and the sand ran off, causing blockages and leaks. Removing them was an unpleasant job. 😊Col, NZ
Just looking at the shed you pulled down with the old machines ,maybe a old joinery barn with the old planers etc have seen the same here in NZ years ago
I've seen that kind of Belt drive stuff before. I bet the engine ran that shaft and the belts connect it to the saw mill tools. the last time I saw that was when I was visiting amish work worker... and they buy old tractor's just for that belt drive.
Yeah, it's basically what was used before each tool started having their own electric motors. You could use steam power to drive the belts for example. But yeah, probably Amish related.
As someone who's had a run-down nearly abandoned property next door to mine, I can tell you that the neighbors across the street are ecstatic watching you clear that property off. It's been an eyesore for them for years.
There's no point in tearing down the Well House and destroying A perfectly Good Water Well especially how much a New water Well would cost because that Water Well could be pumped Out and hooked up with a Air compressor and use the Air compressor to pump out the water from the Water Well to A storage Tank and using a regular water pump to pump the water from the storage tank to the New Home build !
Good to see John. I miss the days when it was Chris, John & Timmy working together. I would see if the state would move that road sign that is now at the edge of the driveway.
So true, so true it all makes sense now. My thoughts exactly, about why not drop those two big pine trees down on top of the house? But do you know what is more impressive about you, is the ability to read our thoughts even before we are even thinking of it.
I enjoy your channel I do a lot of mulching and clearing on lake wedowee in Alabama but we run Deere because of dealer support we are in the middle of nowhere. You take pride in your work like me and that creates repeat customers my son is 12 and he helps me on jobs running my equipment when he is not in school hope he takes it over one day. Great job!! I would love to try Volvo but Deere has taken care of me and we have no other options besides cat and the are very expensive to repair
Looks like you found an old sawmill set up. As a restorer I cringed when the engine and jackshaft were pulled out. Probably too far gone anyway. Keep on working your magic.
There is a lot of sorting to do when watching videos and getting to see what one wants first requires a bit of checking what's in the feeds, LetsDig 18 gets fast tracked to the top (sorry DP you not far behind )can't miss the action of what the machines are achieving each day . Funny how it's now Machines, but still only the Chris Factor (fresh not frozen lol)
Could be other factors at play too. Like maybe it's a code of some sort, dumps won't take it, too far away to truck it, etc. At the end of the day it's good stewardship for future generations. I was just watching a video yesterday about how in Europe they are finding ways to recycle most building materials, even on the same site of new construction. I think that kind of reuse is really cool. I actually have quite a bit of furniture that is made locally from what used to be snow fence. Super durable and cool to give it a second life.
Don't it just make ya shake ya head, when people say dumb shit like that Chris , "Why not just drop the tree's on the house" !! Hell, it cost ya enough as it is to get hauled off as it is, let alone throwing more crap in with it that don't belong in that kind of load !! Can get a lot more expensive real quick !! Yes Sir !! that's going to make the driveway way, way better widening it like that !! Good to see Unk helping ya out on the hauling, nice to see him every once in awhile !! Boy, Geoff has his hands full with his house building going on, and all the side projects too !! lolol... That's a good thing though, keeping ya busy !! Great as always Chris, Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Every 2-3 jobs you've done have resulted in a new (to you) machine so I'm curious what the next toy in the fleet is. Maybe we should start a pool to see who can guess what's next. I'm thinking you're almost maxed out on excavators & track loaders/caterpillars so maybe Barney will get a new friend or 2! Either that or another trailer of attachments for the upcoming projects. Cheers & God bless.
I was thinking either a bigger or maybe a second haul truck. Then he could excavate faster. If he had two, he could fill one while the other one was being dumped by a helper.
Interesting to see your uncle John back on the scene. Seeing it's not him paying you anymore, it's you paying him. So make sure you get those tipper loads to the Max!. Cheers bloke!!
Those pulleys on a shaft were "line shafting" and were used to run machines from a common power source, like a steam engine or gas engine. Common in machine shops up until about 1920's when the transition to machines with their own electric motors became more available.
Well there are times that chris puts On the demo man hat Pond builder rd builder land management turn woods in to pastures so many hats for one Person to ware lolo guess that's why we like his channel never know what to expect
Good old uncle John back on the job. Not seen him for a while now.
Yes a Long while actually
He was looking good too like he lost some weight 😶
Nice to see your uncle working with you. Thank you and have a great day.
Yes it is
Good to see your Uncle John and doing some trucking for you. Hope he is doing well.
Love to see Chris work with his Uncle John. They need to dredge a pond together soon!
Uncle John on the job!! "Must be jamming out" 🤣🤣 Rock on Uncle John!! Great to see you.
Good bit of work to prep the area for demo!! And, we got a quick Uncle John sighting(in the truck)!!
It was good to see Uncle John watching the nephew work!
Good to hear the oak trees are bing saved. That culvert shore was short - now serviceable. Old shed - a story in history in demolition. Pine trees fell hard. Uncle John looks great - still goes on a wander when truck is being loaded.
Glad to see your uncles back in some videos!
Very productive day, especially with moving in equipment and expanding the culvert entrance in 1 day. You made a great start after removing the trees. Can't wait to see the old molded house cleaned up for good. Great video, Chris.
Good to see Uncle John. Been a while.
That was a smooth maneuver to push that pipe together without even getting out of the mini excavator.
Chris always makes it look easy
Was going to comment the same thing
He should have shown the first connection that he said was real fun also.
@@davidqueen4719he hit the first piece with the bucket digging it out…looked oddly like a bucket creased it…and unfortunately no video of it or the battle to install it either!…plenty of video slipping the bell end on the other side though…hmmm!
Antique stuff from the Walton days of wood milling. Good seeing your uncle John again. Happy demo day.
It's good to see Uncle John, it brought a tear to my eye seeing him climb out of that truck rockin a pair of jorts. I hope he's doing well.
It's been a while since we say Chris's uncle John and his awesome dump truck helping Chris.
That's not to bad a pile of debris for him to haul off compared to some jobs they did in the past.
That’s the first time I’ve seen your uncle in a while!
Hope he’s well
Nice to see your Uncle John, haven't seen him in awhile
Hi again Chris the shaft you pulled from the old barn is a line shaft it powered the saw mill and other belt driven machines and has been around since the industrial age which was 1800 or 19th century
I know it’s a pain to separate the tin from the framing, but it sure beats a hammer and doing it by hand!
Hello Chris and it’s nice seeing John again. Like everyone have wondered about how he has been going ? Or is he still doing projects, on his own ?
Chris you suggested you were going to need sand and some clay. So why not build a large burn pit and then burn all the trees and timber ? 🌻

Good to see Uncle John and he is in his Safety Shorts ;)
The long axle with pulleys is called a jack shaft. It allowed a single power source to run several different machines.
Also called a lineshaft.
I love how you can operate your equipment with such precision. I with you in saving as much as you can by recycling everything you can. You have to this day and age due to elaborate increase in cost. Great job looking forward to demo of the house.
It’s good to see uncle John again. Looks like you still doing well.
Working that mini like a surgeon fitting that pipe, love the teardowns.
Good to see John looking good.
Great seeing uncle John awesome work as always Chris
You Sir should demonstrate to surgeons who use mechanics arms to carry out modern surgery techniques? What a demonstration of skilful digger use.
Some will say that you get more done when I’m not around. But don’t believe those lies. 😂
Another job for you. And a lot of jobs withing for you
That's completely untrue Bealy
Ain't you supposed to be doing concrete work today?? 😅
No pizza party when you aren't around
Inked the deal to demo the house so Chris went and bought a roller …. Thx Bealy.
Maybe a new haul truck’s in the pipeline
Thanks like the video and very glade to see uncle John .
You have accomplished a lot already, of course, that was to plan, as usual. Setting those culvert tubes and making the connections, I’m thinking who needs to use force when you can just tap it in place with the excavator, sweet. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching another plan come together.
Hey uncle John long time no see! Hope all is well.

IT was good to see John, i had wondered how he was doing?
hi uncle Jon.. been a while since he has been in one of your videos.. nice clearing of trees and shed, looking forward to the demo of the old house..
It’s good to see Uncle John!
Just looking at the shed you pulled down with the old machines ,maybe a old joinery barn with the old planers etc have seen the same here in NZ years ago
Nice long video with plenty of task to be watched. Nice to see Big John.
I've seen that kind of Belt drive stuff before. I bet the engine ran that shaft and the belts connect it to the saw mill tools. the last time I saw that was when I was visiting amish work worker... and they buy old tractor's just for that belt drive.

I hope somebody salvages those old belt pulleys. That's probably 1st gen cast.
As someone who's had a run-down nearly abandoned property next door to mine, I can tell you that the neighbors across the street are ecstatic watching you clear that property off. It's been an eyesore for them for years.
That multi angle bucket looks to have great advantages.
Glad to see Uncle John again.
Good to see your uncle John
Please show a landscape pov when pushing a tree that is entangled. Thanks for posting, as always.
Boy the tilt on that bucket makes life a lot easier.
Good to see Uncle John again. Looks the same, shorts, button up shirt, phone in shirt pocket and work boots. Hope he is doing well.
Dang Chris you make adding pipe look to easy. A lot more ginger loading Uncle John's truck than old Barney. Good seeing John. Thanks for the video.
Good to see John. I miss the days when it was Chris, John & Timmy working together. I would see if the state would move that road sign that is now at the edge of the driveway.

I was thinking "why not drop a tree on the house for the fun of it??" and 3 seconds later he answered my question. That was weird..
He was referring to Geoff's previous comment about it on earlier video
I was half expecting that Chris was taking today off, this is like a bonus episode of letsdig18.
I enjoy your channel I do a lot of mulching and clearing on lake wedowee in Alabama but we run Deere because of dealer support we are in the middle of nowhere. Good to your Uncle John is still able to get out and still work.
Looks like Bealeygood is going into the housing development business. I reckon he did good on the farm. Amazing how you are a one man site prep.
DEMO DAY! I guess Mr.Bealy isn't moving in LOL
Out of all your equipment the Yanmar mini is my favorite. Love watching.
That "pulley doodad" is what is called a jackshaft for belt-driven machinery, like saws, planers, and shapers and drills, and all kinds of tools.....
Save that bandsaw someone would want that Keith Rucker would probably restore it
Demo and Uncle John in one video?! Great job and good to see Uncle John looking well.😊
Does John have anyone working for him now ?
Please tell me you are going to use a few of the trees to take out the house. It would make my inner child's day.
Chris you really enjoy you're type of work don't you
It shows how good you are at it
Another great video bro and good to see John too. Safe travels. Ken.
Trees crashing on the house would have made a great thumb nail for your video. Great video.
It's called a line shaft for steam powered equipment in a shop
Nice work on the driveway
Looks like you found an old sawmill set up. As a restorer I cringed when the engine and jackshaft were pulled out. Probably too far gone anyway. Keep on working your magic.
I'm surprised Chris didn't use his Indeco IMH-5 mulcher head to clean up the driveway ditch.

AINT GONNA LIE… I DID ENJOY WATCHING YOU FRESHEN UP SOME RETENTION PONDS BACK IN THE DAY…
Always wonder whether the salvage value of the tin is worth the extra time, effort and fuel cost of separating it out?
Could be other factors at play too. Like maybe it's a code of some sort, dumps won't take it, too far away to truck it, etc.

No, but it is better to get a few bucks for it rather than paying a few bucks to dump it.
What's cracking John? Hope ya doing well!!
That old industrial stuff can be worth quite a bit of money to interior decorators.
Don't it just make ya shake ya head, when people say dumb shit like that Chris , "Why not just drop the tree's on the house" !! That shaft and sheves are the best line that ran what I'm assuming was the saw.
Hi Uncle John.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊❤
Funny, I was watching an old video with Uncle John in it earlier today and I was wondering how he was doing. And then, he is in this video!!
Good to see Uncle John again, he's still wearing the same shirt. shorts and boots from a few years ago.
Although, I think it would be kind of fun to see one of those big trees go down on the house 😂😂
28:00 Probably started out as construction scraps.
Has John got a new truck?
Interesting to see your uncle John back on the scene. Seeing it's not him paying you anymore, it's you paying him. So make sure you get those tipper loads to the Max!. Cheers bloke!!
Yeah that was good so far. Looking forward to tearing that house down who always like those things. 👍👍🙂
Glad to see John again , you guys can do some work for sure.
Haven't seen John in a while ... all we need now is Timmy and the band will be back together !!

Time to check in with Winston?
John still have the same Volvos or has he upgraded any?
Wow that Clam Shell bucket can go all the way Sideways.
