Greetings from Newfoundland up in Canada. As I watch you work, I cant help but notice and admire how you are constantly thinking. You think about the people around you, the equipment , the little details. It's impressive. I teach engineering at at university. Watching you is an education. Thanks for letting us ride along.
So glad that final look back to see the dead tree gone out of the water! I'm not OCD but that one was driving me crazy! Chris always leaves the work site looking fantastic. Thank you for your time and talent.
My goodness that was a lot of concrete holy cow what a lot of people don't understand how to do the connections I guess I've never dealt with stuff like this but watching you do the work and tell him how that it should have been done it's amazing what a lot of other people they just throw stuff together to make it look good and then they don't have to worry about it for 20 years or so and then stuff starts leaking and then here comes the pond master to the rescue it looks awesome you do great work Chris
We fixed a pond one time that was using 4 old fuel tanks welded together end to end for an overflow. They had welded a big gate on the end of the pipe in the pond to cutoff the overflow. Of course when the pond filled the tanks/pipe floated. So they dug it out , placed it again and poured 96 yards of concrete around it for a seep collar. It still floated the pipe enough to leak and the seeping water cut a gully through the pond dam. When we got the call, I couldn't believe what I saw. Like to never got all that concrete busted up. We cut the gate off the pipe and welded it to the end of the pipe outside the pond and it has never leaked again. That job sucked. Love your videos.
that operator is a true professional..the ease by which he did this work demonstrates how familiar and comfortable he is with his mechine..He worked at a cautious pace and kept a constant eye out for safety excellent...excellent..workmanship
Talk about "over engineered". This takes the biscuit! Tough you cracked the small window in the process. That's life!. Many thanks for another first class presentation. Stay safe and well.
Fantastic work. You and John are the best team. Moving that concrete made my toes curl when your machine looked like it was going to tip. But the skill you showed saved the day. What a clean and peaceful scene you left. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.
Once upon a time, the street i lived on had a culvert for a small stream. being young, my brother and i crawled through it. the culvert was made of two different sizes of concrete pipe, a section of an old boiler, and two different sizes of corrugated steel pipe. when they finally replaced it, i told the foreman what he would find, he laughed, as that is exactly what they had dug up
'Lord have mercy' alright! Brain rattling, body shaking and taking life in hands excavation. Thank goodness no one was injured. This is one great video with a neat finish. Keep safe out there.
Tracked, seeded & strawed. Picked up on the satisfaction you have in saying those three words, another 'pond crisis' dispatched in fine style, well done Chris & John! 👍
Thought John was going down for a minute but the shovel saved the day! Sad,other contractors failures are terrible for homeowners but great for you…..looks great Chris, you and John are a great team!
Now we just need to convince John to wear eye protection when standing four feet from shattering concrete. I may have watched too much failarmy in my life, but I was dreading John catching a flying piece of debris and falling into the pond. All's well that ends well, and the end result is absolutely beautiful work.
Good one! When pouring concrete on or up to existing concrete your must soak the existing concrete with water first or the old concrete will pull out the water and it will not adhere and it will crack apart every time. Good example of this is the way the pipe came out of the poured so easy. If you wet it first it will be as one piece.
So many walls made this way. Even larger shi* done with an excavator all large flat easy to stack and jog seems....so disappointing to see. They make it obvious they suck too. They're just not aware. Then you're a prick when you point it out. Lotta fakers and takers in this world.
Nice job. All one has to do when trying to figure out which way bell-end pipe goes is think of it as a funnel. You don't pour into the small end of a funnel.
Back when, I would've noticed something like that and asked about it, then get ignored until they almost do it the wrong way. I was young and unsure then, just a ground man. :-)
Think like water in any trade. I've repaired so many rotten sills because the previous guy used the best material but in the wrong way like David Uher mentioned. Roof edges are another bug problem when someone puts on flashing, flashing tape and membrane but don't have the up-roof side under the upper pieces of membrane.
It's like the other contractor started out pouring a foundation for a high-rise, then changed their mind and threw some pipes in instead. That was a mess!! Glad we got Chris on the job to set it right! And the pond and the setting is beautiful!
I am seeing the water ripple every time you work on the down pipe. You guys sure do a really nice job and I have every confidence it’ll work as it should.
Great job, Chris and John! It just goes to show us, that you never know what you're going to find when you dig down where someone else has been. Sorry to see you busted the glass. I know you take a lot of pride in keeping your machines looking first rate. I know it's because you are a first rate operstor and owner.
not sure why the vids with you and john working together i enjoy a bunch, maybe because i learned so much from my uncle. he helped me build my first computer, he was an electrical engineer. he died way to young.
Dammit Man !! That turned out to be a little Bigger job than expected huh ?? lolol... Looked like it was getting to be a pain in the ass there for a min., thought that concrete wasn't gonna play right there at first but, it finally broke loose !! First time I've really been up today, been fighting this covid for several days now, seems like We are finally turning the corner !! If anyone happens to get this this mess, PLEASE !! take care of yourself !! it ain't NO JOKE !! Thank you Chris for making a few longer videos Man, believe it or not, it's really helping , told myself that your daily vidoes was gonna be my get up and move around time, and that's just what i've been doing !! Hard to explain just how weak this makes you but, I believe we have it licked now !! Thank you so much for taking your time to make these longer Chris !! Really Great as always Man !! You and Unk do such awesome work , love watching you guys daily. Have a Great Evening !! And On too the Next !!
Chris, this was a real mess of a job. Shame that the glass on the exvator got a bit broken and beat up but really glad that you in turn did NOT get hurt in that. Looks 100% better than what it did and you know that since you did all this the correct way, there is no way it will ever leak again. shame that this was not done correctly the first time. Great video. Thank you for shaing and your work on it.
I cannot believe the amount of concrete that was in that pond damn. I bet there was 20 yards in there at least. Good job on that! Sorry about your window mishap. That sucks! But like you said at least your front window was up.

It keeps the pipe in the direction of travel, and aids in location when in the trench. There's nothing worse than pipe, especially polypropelene for flapping about in the breeze.
Always amazed at the work you do! I see the operators around here in Ohio and it’s like take that home and call Chris in and do it right! Well done Sir ……
Glad you got the huge chunk of concrete and pipe out in one piece to show how the concrete didn't fill completely and how it caused the leak. Hope the owner can get the his money back for the previous mess.
When in doubt, just pour the concrete all about!! Lol That liner in the back of the dump truck has seen its share of concrete and rock. Won't be long and yall will welding in some new steel. Love these videos. I bet you miss that power of the 220 and 250 when you're in the 160. That girl is sure doing work though!
That was an excellent video Chris. Job Well Done as always! Enjoyed your humor remarks about the concrete. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
You and your friends does a great job on fixing up old ponds and building news one. I hope you and your family have a merry Christmas and happy new year
You can have a Macrolon plastic 1/4" sheet in three parts and store it on the machine. Place it in front of front window whit preinstalled holders when you can think of flying fragments, Chris.
Now that was a workout for man and machine! :) I don't know who worked harder at taking out that concrete, you Chris, or me,.. I caught myself working imaginary controls and ;lifting' as much as I could there on my couch hahaha. Nice rebuild of the overflow system. Good job!
So much concrete, so little time. Tks for showing how the concrete didn’t go all the way underneath. Chris, you always do such an excellent job. Looks like you had a “smashing” time🤣 Too soon?? Seriously though, glad you weren’t hurt & the 160 only suffered minor damage. Take care & cheers from 🐨🦘🥰

Hi Uncle Jon. Another fine little job for the Pond Master -Chris. I`m seeing a load of concrete to crush. "Aw , just bring 3 truck loads of mud - its only $25 per cubic yard". [1960s prices] Santa, please bring Chris another piece of front glass for Uncle Jon`s Volvo.
You undone a royal mess there Chris , concrete must of been free when that job was done , far to much weight causing the leak , total over kill with the concrete, another job well done , I enjoyed this one maybe because I love the pond repair jobs .
Great Video, Hats off to the operator its was scary with the pipe break hitting the window if you had a jack hammer attachment you could break up all the pipe at the end without damaging the equipment! Sure it take 1 hour to attach it but the dollars in safety will always pay off in the end. Thanks for the How to video!
If you ever get in a pickle with a big concrete chunk or something like that you can put one end up on a rock and then punch your bucket in the middle of the other piece that you’re trying to break or you can do what you just did and drop another piece on that piece when it’s angled up on the rock pile or off of another rock. Love your videos keep up the great work
i seen a really nice one on a pond. It had a spill way 6 inches below the top of the pond that led to a drain pipe.. the bottom of the spill way was designed to catch any large debris so it wouldn't plug the pipe. then it had another valve/pipe where he could drain pretty much the whole pond if he needed too.
Chris, it looks like it may be time for you to consider purchasing and developing some land/office property so you can lease it to the business and reduce taxable income while garnering depreciation benefits on the structures and appreciation on land value. A consultation with an accountant who is adept at scaling up a business may be something to consider. You seem to be doing very well at making it, now it’s time for strategies on how to keep as much as legally possible.
Great job, Chris. This little pond dam fix really tested the mettle of your Volvo! Those concrete chunks put your baby right to the limit. Sorry about her glass boo-boos, we look forward to you patching her up and getting her nice and pretty for the next job. I guess Betty was jealous, she didn't get to come out and play on this one!
@@jmwarden1 You are very observant! Nailed it, based on the red grab bar on the left side. The Volvos are so similar from the cab camera and sound perspective, it's hard to tell sometimes.
To think of how much money they wasted on concrete.... Chris, it pays to get a good contractor and have the job done correctly the first time. Kudo's to you sir for making everything turn out right and leaving the site in perfect shape!
30:25 the fact you were able to catch that rolling piece of concrete with your bucket like I would catch a ball with my hand is damn impressive. This is the result of thousands of hours in that seat. It’s just second nature at the point.

Excellent work! I wish I learned that 50 years ago.

great job Chris, love watching a Pro at work. Have a great day.
I think they were using the 160 this time
@@jmwarden1 You are very observant!
