    Magnificent Tour Joey! Thanks for showing off the new room! Those custom shelves are a thing of beauty! Your collection looks great resting on the oak and steel. Nice removable limbs 3PO! He was always a favorite of mine and one of the first ones I had to find again once I got back into collecting. Great Video 🤓👍👍

      @@thepadawancollectorofficial Thanks Bro! That’s is Very Cool of You! It was something that had been on my mind for awhile. So many of our friends in the community have listed their frustrations with finding toys. It made me wonder if their expectations were for shopping, when in reality, finding toys these days isn’t shopping, its actual hunting. Shopping is running to the grocery store for a steak and being home to cook dinner 20 mins later. Hunting for your dinner is a much longer and far more challenging process. I wish it were toy shopping, but since I know it’s actually hunting, I understand the time it takes and can truly appreciate the thrill of the hunt.

    Great video as always! Who cares about the hands, turn it around on them, Handsawan. It’s an interesting idea to separate your childhood collection from your adult collected. I might be doing that sometime down the line. I have them all mixed in on my wall. The spread sheet is a great idea as well. I might have to do that to track all my stuff.

    • @thepadawancollectorofficial
      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Lazlo! Haha I’m a hand talker! Can’t change that if I wanted to! I really want to try a custom build display for my childhood collection that I make myself. I think it would be a fun project. And I would be lost without my spreadsheet to know what I need and also how much I paid for it and where I bought it from. I order figures all the time so I use it to put tracking numbers and names of sellers in case I have to contact the seller for updates on my orders. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment my friend!

    Sweet set up Bro. Now we need to hook those racks up with some rc car parts so you can move them with a controller, like using the FORCE. That would be next level for sure, maybe some color changing led tape underneath so they glow when they're rolling.

    My grandmother used to go to antique auctions all the time in about 15 years ago she brought me a box that was just like a grab bag of old Star wars figures. And had a gem in there of the emperor with his damn cane! I have that one on display but the rest of those figures are somewhere in my apartment. After watching this video I have to go digging for the rest of them now

    What a dope opening! I've been waiting for this one. Happy to see you set up & rolling in the new digs Joey. I think we all hate moving, but seeing the final result, it was well worth all the hassles. I don't care how many times I see it, I'm always in awe of your centerpiece figure cases. Makes my heart race and my mind dream. So cool. It was interesting to see the behind-the-scenes equipment & set up as well. I know you often explain a lot of the "how to's" of your process. I'm curious to know the background that introduced you to using this equipment & would love to hear about that discussed on a livestream or side video, or even as a segment in a main line video (similar to how you did the Google docs spreadsheet creation). Smart move putting everything on rollers too.
    The removable limbs C-3PO has always been one of my favorites. I'm sure I had more than one of these due to losing parts. You found a great one for the display. Definitely worthy of grading should you so choose. I was excited for you too. We were both smiling with joy with that addition.
    Lots of fantastic SW on your shelves, but so much more yet to come. I'm truly enjoying being able to share in this journey with you & look forward to each & every episode. Top notch quality & production is the icing on your always entertaining & educational videos. See you on the next one & congrats on the new location!!

      Thanks Mopar! I have a background in video production and glad I get to use some of those techniques here :). I would be happy to do that in a bonus video, as I know most collectors aren’t into that side of things and just want to talk about the figures, which is fair, that’s why I would go to a vintage channel too. I’m glad you dig the new setup, it’s going to keep evolving hopefully to a better and more fun place :). Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment my friend. I have many Star Wars figures that are special to me, but the figures that mean the most as a combo are indeed C3PO with removeable limbs and Chewbacca. Not only is recreating one of my favorite moments in my favorite Star Wars movie, but it also reminds me of the family members who gave me these figures as presents when I was a kid. My grandma on my dad's side gave me my Chewbacca for Christmas the year he came out. My grandma on my mom's side gave me the C3PO with removeable limbs later on when it came out, so the pairing of the figures was years in the making. I usually have Chewie displayed wearing the net pouch with C3PO inside. I've had to repair the pouch with electrical tape many years ago because it started to tear from all the times Chewie put it on, but otherwise, this pair still look really good for as much as I played with them. Chewie comically carrying C3PO around on his back and later trying to fix him has come to symbolize different things to me over the years, but it's always been one of my favorite scenes ever since ESB came out.
    Wow! Your display set up is as impressive as your collection itself. It's cool that you made some of it yourself. When you make something yourself, it is even more special to you.
    I love Skyrim and Fallout 4 too. Still the best first person CRPGs I've ever played. Nice ways to escape for a bit. I love tinkering with the mods for these games too. They've practically reinvented these games with mods.
    Darth Vader had Han Solo tortured so that Luke would sense the disturbance in the Force coming from Leia (he didn't realize that Leia was his daughter yet, nor that she was Force sensitive exactly, but I'll bet he was already starting to sense there was more to her than just a princess and a senator) and be lured into a trap. The whole of the original trilogy is about the Emperor trying to lure Luke into being trapped as a replacement for his aging father. That's why the Stormtroopers 'miss' Luke and his friends. Not because they can't aim, but because they've been ordered to steer our heroes into being captured alive. It's great that you show the pages from the comic book that suggests that there were additional moments in the story not seen in the movie where Darth Vader remembers C3PO and remembers building him as a kid. If Lucas would have had the control and the budget for ESB that he had for the prequels, it's possible that something like that might have been in the movie, or at least in a director's cut of it later on.
    I love that your Millenium Falcon (which looks fantastic by the way) is propped up by a clear plastic case. I recognize that problem as my childhood Falcon's rear landing gear won't stay deployed when I stand it on its landing claws either. My solution was to hang my Falcon on a wall with a very thick picture hanging cable attatched to very long wallboard screws.
    Great display and streaming setup! It amazes me how elaborate and sophisticated UA-cam has become. When I started watching videos on it years ago, they were simply people setting relatively inexpensive video camera on a table, or tripod in their house, hitting record and then walking around in front of it to give a quick talk about something they were interested in. No props, graphics, etc. Often, just a blank wall behind them. Your show is a great example of how amazing a UA-cam show can be today.

      @thepadawancollectorofficial  2 роки тому +1

      Hey John! Thank you for your amazing comment and letting us know about your thoughts on this episode and the backstory of your C-3PO and chewy. I had to repair mine with electrical tape when I was a child as well, that put a smile on my face to read that you did the same! And those are amazing tid bits of info that you added for the Darth Vader back story regarding the Bespin takeover. I didn’t know that background of why the stormtroopers always missed! Haha that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for watching and thanks for the insight. It’s always an honor to read your comments my friend

    • @enfieldjohn101
      @enfieldjohn101 2 роки тому

      @@thepadawancollectorofficial The electrical tape on the net works perfectly because it's almost the same sort of material, only with an adhesive on it. I love all of the Star Wars movies, but especially ESB, so I know all sorts of lore about it. :) There's more detail in the novelizations of the movies than in the movies themselves as well. They are really a good read. Donald F. Glut wrote the ESB novel and it's very good. Yeah, I kinda roll my eyes at all the 'stormtroopers can't aim' jokes out there. They can aim very well when they are supposed to. They shoot most of our heroes in the movie Rogue One and have no trouble hitting Kyle Katarn in the Dark Forces video games, for examples.
      I love your videos. I've been recommending them to people I meet on social media who are looking for advice on collecting.

    Another great video, Joey!
    Always bear in mind that NO collection is ever complete ( not even Steve Sansweets!) So you will be constantly moving and improving! Try modular display units for the smaller items, they're easily available on Ebay. They are cubes 30cm square, and can be assembled in any configuration you like...and they're quite cheap!
    My figure memories are...all of them, really! I can remember where I bought each one, what I was doing, what music I was listening to at that particular time, but special mention has to go to my First 12 C3PO, the only figure I didn't buy for myself. I asked my Dad to get it for me as I didn't have the money when it finally hit the shops, I described it for him, and where I had seen it. I didn't expect him to remember, but he came up with the goods!
    I still have that figure, although I've upgraded for the display collection.
    Nothing on Earth will part me from it, it reminds me of my Dad...🥺
    Looking forward to the next video, keep on keeping on!😁

    Heya!
    It is fair to say that all of my Vintage Star Wars Figures have a special meaning attached to all of them in one way or another? It is difficult to disentangle all of those associated treasured moments, the anticipation and the pure and undying Love that I have for each and every individual, be it their Character, the detail and shear artistry applied in their creation, their card backs and their relationship in regards to other Figure’s within a group setting or in the Broader Collection as a whole. Each Figure has a significance as an Individual and as a Union.
    What do I mean by this last comment? Well as I may have mentioned, R2-D2 was my very first Figure and the memories of that warm summer day has remained as a distilled moment in every crystalline detail. (Sounds like a Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac Song.) I digress.
    But in having R2 the event served as a launching pad to acquire a C3-P0. And then C3-P0 had to be the most Golden C3-P0 I could find, collect. This need then branched off into the Variants that I now have. So in a way several aspects of my collecting was then set into motion for as a Child I did not think in contemporary terms of collecting variations of one Figure? I only knew that my Figure was not as Gold as this Droids’ on screen counterpart, or he did not match up with the Collecting Cards or the tie in books and magazines or even someone else’s Figure? It was a very bitter Autumnal Day when I was bought my First C3-P0. That Evening was very dark as the night drew in very early. So as a duo my Droid’s were complete. Then my Third Figure was Chewbacca and we all know who his Human Buddy is? It was a wee while before I was able to buy Han. But Chewbacca was bought on a Sunny Spring afternoon, the same as my Princess Leia in Bespin Gown and Luke in Bespin Fatigues, obviously a good few years down the line. Leia was bought on a Sunny afternoon coming up to Easter and Luke was bought on a sunny September Evening. Of course I will not ever forget my First Boba Fett HK Figure bought for me by a Late Aunt who actually purchased eight of these Figures for Her Nephew’s as well as Her Son on Christmas 1981. Each Figure cost Her £1.50. I cannot imagine how much they would all be worth now, all presented on an Empire Strikes Back Card. She also bought Her son an AT-AT Walker. She liked to spend and make people happy- a questionable trait I know. But getting back to Boba, this was especially cool as I then saw the potential of building my Bounty Hunter’s into a distinct group within my Collection. This notion was fully realised with the Imperial’s as there were so many coming off the back of Empire. I also realised the potential of my Rebel Figures although they were essentially Hoth Bound in terms of building any Army. Only the main Characters could be whisked away to Dagobah or Cloud City. Vader had his own Play Set- I didn’t get bought any Star Wars Play Sets, not that I minded because I always built bases from scratch. Besides, my Darth Vader came much later on in my Collection.
    Recently I responded to a Member who like myself has a thing for Palace Guard Klaatu and then later on Klaatu in Skiff Guard Outfit. But the day when I bought my First Klaatu I had that Star Wars Figure Buzz because this Figure I actually saved up for! And back in the day probably due to distribution, Klaatu in the UK was as rare as Hen’s teeth- unless you’re breeding Velociraptor’s? But they were! I would like to do a Memory Lane Presentation on the Tube but it’ll never be as polished as some posting’s. But yeah, I really want to do that as it will be fun. And I can then talk about each Figure at length and what they mean to me personally and perhaps what was going on in my life at the time, although that might be a little too much and a bit Dark?
    But yes, events, memories are so deeply interwoven with the purchase of Star Wars Figure’s and the Building of Our Collection’s. It is almost like ‘A Never Ending Story,’ in itself as there are tales and events all bundled into an unforgettable experience that is an Epic Adventure like the Classic Trilogies themselves!

    The original C-3PO is a tough one to get with tight limbs and a nice gold lustre. Still my favourite version of the figure. The removable limbs reissue is a more paler gold colour - less impressive to look at.
    I guess a JEDI version wasn't released as not much of note happened to him in the film - apart from his electronic eye hanging out its eye socket. Don't know how Kenner would've done that back then.

    Definitely congrats on your space. I am happy for you and jealous at the same time. I have a massive collection of stuff and not enough room to display all of it unfortunately. One of these days I'd love to get like a 3000 square foot house with a lot of walls because most of my figures I keep boxed and I hang them from the walls. I think I have about 500 hanging from about six walls in my apartment right now

      None of them original vintage. These are all starting with the late 90s power of the Jedi and power of the force figures all the way up to current. All of my vintage figures are loose. My prize of my entire collection though is a 1977 full size Darth Vader helmet my best friend gave to me for my birthday a few years ago. He got it from the estate of his friends aunt who happened to have two of those helmets and he kept on and gave me one so naturally I'm in debt to him for the rest of my life! I buy this dude so many Star wars figures it's ridiculous

      I have been on a black series kick lately. Have you seen the new stuff they've been releasing? Pretty awesome stuff. I spent $200 at Target the other day because I hit a motherload of figures. Usually you only find a couple of Black Series because they have been picked through so I must have gotten there shortly after they unloaded a truck. I left a few behind and went back the next day and they were all gone so I probably should I left a few behind and went back the next day and they were all gone so I probably should have spent $300 but buyer's remorse, you know?
      They have the Mandalorian covered in mud and grogu from the scene he's lifting the mudhorn and the hairy egg! I also bought Miggs Mayfeld, Boba Fett in Tusken gear, Fennec Shand, a Sandtrooper and I bought two carbonised shoretroopers from Rogue one so I can open one. I left behind Doctor Evasan and Pondo Baba, Yavin Leia and Bib Fortuna. Only bib Fortuna was still there when I went back. Sorry for the long message I just get excited about this kind of s***
