Holy smokes! That is amazing. I would have never thought you could get a mirror finish like that. Awesome job!
Thanks mate my old 1995 YZ250 had this back in the 90's
I admire that level of determination.
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback 👍
The amount of work that went into this swing arm is phenomenal! Now you make me wanna do mine even tho she’s getting PowderCoated 🔥
So much work but considering how bad that swingarm was it came out sweet.
Broken Sprocket Yepp looks Mint 👌🏾

Thanks mate I was thinking of that pipe when doing this lol..
Looks fresh mate done a quality job.

Wow!! That turned out amazing.
Thanks JoeJoe I'm happy with the finish..
I just polished vtr1000 swingarm !! Tip to remove the coating is to use oven cleaner - the strongest one and it works a treat👌
Thanks for the tips I tried paint stripper and it did nothing 😑
Wow. It just makes me think of having to do chain block cover, break cover and prob rear break master pedal an kicker to match.... Unreal job
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback.
Wow what a transformation. What is the little triangle polishing tool on your Dremel ? And what was that metal polish? I feel like I need the exact same materials for this job lol
Jesus that looks amazing
Thanks Dan love it 🤩👍
Looks good
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback.
Dang mate niiiiiice job 👌👌
Thanks mate 😄👍
They are anodised from factory in Japan
Sand out imperfections and re-anodise if able to, or weld and sand if deep gouged and then ceramic clear 👍🏼
In an earlier vid, I thought that swingarm had been repaired - welded on, guess I was wrong - sorry. That looks too nice, it's going to be a showpiece!
might do it on my rm125 too!
Bonkers 🔥🔥🔥
holy shit thats amazing
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback 👍
Wow, great video.... new subscriber mate 🇦🇺👍🏻
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback
Great job mate
Thanks mate...
looks great 👍
Thanks mate..
Nice job. I'm gonna do my 96 CR500 tomorrow. Wonder how hard it will be to keep it shining. I was rocking
Sounds great you will love it
Nice work! How many hours did you have in this polish job? How hard has the upkeep been?
This is by far the hardest part of the build. I’m having a heck of a time getting the inside (tire side) of the arm, with all of the high and low spots.
Any tips on how you pulled it off. All by hand?
🤣😂🤣 lots of work mate keep on trying.
It’s coming along, but man is it tough on the inside. 😂🤣
I’ll have to find a way to send you some pics sometime.
Try to send pic on Instagram link on my home page.
Done well mate
Thanks mate appreciate the feedback.
Hi mate ,well I fallowed your steps and I even went to 7000 grit and it looks like a mirror now .my question for you is how to protect it I'm not to happy with clear coat as it can chip so I'd like to wax it with meguiar's ultimate Wax , what is your opinion on this . Fantastic work and thanks if it wasn't for you I'd not have done it .
Thats fantastic I'm happy a video I made has inspired you. I just use metal polish by hand to keep the shine up it only take a few minutes to keep it shiny.
What type of benchtop buffer wheel thing is that? I find buffer ones but with only soft disks on there not ones that have a harder buffing pad on it to get a good finish
What polish did you use?
Can you make a list of the tools and sanding material you used?
Now that's how you polish aluminium. Is this going to be a show bike or what?
Thanks mate not a show bike but I still want to make it nice and do a good job 👍
It turned out really nice I'm interested to know if you're going to try to do at home DIY powder coating I think they call it cerakoting
Thanks mate. Powder coating and Cerakoting need to be baked in a oven and the only oven I have is in the house and I'm not going to use the oven we eat out of lol...
@@BrokenSprocket I've seen people do smaller parts in those little toaster ovens that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm I'm shocked that you don't want to burn off some chemicals in your house LOL
😂🤣😂
Looks good! Is it scratched yet?
The bike isn't finished.
what is the substance you are applying to make it shiny?
Metal polish
Nice job Steve.
You do know ot will get dirty on the first ride, right?
🤣😂🤣yeah mate I just won't ride it.
@@BrokenSprocket lol.
Let me ship my swingarm to u bro I need it polished
Explain the process a bit more as you go along
Hi mate , I'd just like to say you did a fantastic job on that swingarm , can I ask you a question , I messed up and started with 120 grit to get all the agonising off , I then went to 320 and 400 on am on 600 now but I can still see the bloody scratches from the 120 as I understand now vi should not have went so low , how can I get them out , is it just by going back to say 220 and up to 320 and so on ?. Any help would be much appreciated . I understand I might have a job on my hands now but just would like to know if I can still get it smooth . Cheers pal. Keep up with the great video's . Dylan
Yeah mate you will have to go down in grades of sand paper till it's smoth then polish. Lots of work lol...
Wassup
Man do you know where i can buy the exact same buffing wheel?
I got mine from Super cheap auto
Broken Sprocket can you please tell me the material you used?
Looks like cotton
Broken Sprocket do you name of it
Ceramic or anodised?
Just polished
@@BrokenSprocket Before you polished. You said you were removing ceramic. I thinking you were removing anodising.
do you even ever post a bad video? lol
😂🤣😂yeah mate heaps of them.
:D
Your gonna blind somebody with that thing.
🤣😂👌
