I love when you both are together on a video, just makes me happy because of how you are. I'd also love to see crystal cooking or please exercise tips or tutorials we can follow. Love you guys. Btw I order my dates online, they are from a bakery supplier and not plump juicy medjool, but they are good and they're cheaper! Just soften before using. (In the UK).
99 cents for 100g of beans is ridiculously expensive! You should definitely check out a turkish or arabic store if there is one near you. You'll pay 99 cents for a whole kilo of beans there! I'm soaking 1 kilo of dried beans (garbanzo, black, mung, white,... so much variety in those stores!) every week, then cooking it all at once and freezing it portionwise. Lasts me for a whole week, way cheaper and you're saving all that packaging from the canned beans :)
This is true. Going in dry is the way to go here (sexual innuendo intended) In Norway the cheapest dry legume (which luckily are the red lentils which is my fav) is 1.8 CAD a kilo in the asia stores. It's pretty cheap when you consider the cheapest meat (chicken wings) is 7$ and the avarage meat I guess is 15$ The protein content is usually a little higher in dry lentils then in meat so when people argue vegan diet is expensive. Really it's cheaper, just eat more dry legumes as your bulk. I know it sucks to buy dry and cook chickpeas and some beans for a frikkin HOUR, but you could cook prep it and put it in the freezer like Zera does. And I like to use red lentils cus their cooking time is like 15 minutes from dry and they get really mushy which I like. They are good in smoothies to! I don't really notice much difference in taste between the legumes, but it looks pretty and is fun to mix it up. Also mung beans are best to sprout.
I've been wondering that too. Like I'm considering going vegan and I want to know more details on cost and how long that food will last them. Like how much for a month of food?
YESSS!! Grocery haul! I love these way more than is normal. I think, for what you guys get and so much organic, that $130US is kind of a steal for two people. I spend about $60 or $70 just for myself--sometimes more--every week. How often do you guys do a shop like this? And how long does that frozen fruit last? My Vitamix was just delivered and I'm dreaming of smoothies and smoothie bowls. And sauces and nice cream and cashew cream and, basically all the things! 😋
We go probably twice a month and do a big haul like this, then for smaller items or things like oats, spices, etc, we get them from the local health food store. The berries last us a week and a bit. We go through them pretty quick!
Wowwww, I'm 38 years old and I'm ready to start the vegan diet. Your videos are so awesome and they help a lot. Thank you. Sending a big hello all the way from Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷
1:21 awwww yeaaa. Loving the appearance of the fairlady in this one dude. Looked like it was a fun video to film. So jealous of your green selections in Canada. That kale looks awesome. And multipack tofu!? Keep up the good work @Simnett Nutrition and Crystal 💚
You can reuse the plastic containers. Use them to store other things or maybe some leftovers. A lot of the cans and you can use to start planting herbs and then make a garden in your backyard. Imagine fresh herbs? Man I can already taste it.
Totally do the same type of grocery runs. Super market, health grocers, Costco for sure, and some farmers markets when things are available and look good!
I'm currently wanting to go vegan so I'm loving this! I also love that your canadian, so am I. It's nice to see familiar products and stores! Maybe a video about how you store your items and keep them fresh?
Less fat in Snapea crisps? I would never have guessed, they are even greasy to the touch. I didn't even look at the nutrition of these, I just had to have them. Lol.
Scarecrow7 I just said up top that I prefer those they have protein which I’m always looking to get it here in there. There’s veggie straws that are just like chips some of them only have vegetable coloring so it’s a little misleading some people think there adding more vegetable then they really do
It was our American Thanksgiving Thursday and I went all out, made a shepherds pie from the forks over knives cookbook, some sweet potato pies, cacao and butternut squash brownies, and more! Have an awesome week man!✌️❤️
Great knowledge. My groceries are somewhat like that. I'm working to drastically reduce my processed foods as they aren't so healthy and definitely more pricey than whole foods.
Cool video 🙌🙌 I have to say I find it so difficult to shop for one without wasting anything, plus storage is tricky for me too. I have one tray on the bottom of the fridge and the back shelf, the rest is full of corpses that my parents buy 😫😫😫
Clare Cooling I completely understand when I start I started eating this way I ended up throwing out some things that went bad but I’m freezing up anything I can’t eat right away if it goes soft. I bought two pineapples I had to throw out because they didn’t seem to ripen. They were dark green so I was waiting for them to change color to a golden when I know them to be the best in sweetness. All he did was get soft and I cut into them and they were already passed. It’s a big disappointment but they were only 199 at Walmart but I won’t buy them from there anymore
finally someone has noticed our tasty Japanese sweet potatoes !! As a Japanese I am very glad that you enjoy them ! Started being vegan since yesterday. Looking forward to seeing your videos from Japan :)
Shopping without plastic is really hard. For cucumber or things like cauliflower I sometimes go for the nonorganic, because it’s often only in plastic when it’s organic (why?😭) and when it is produced locally I don’t really care about organic. I’d rather have something non organic , locally produced and plastic free for cheaper than organic food that has been shipped overseas. I don’t know how it is in Canada but I live in the EU and we have good food regulations (pesticides etc) that I trust more than the organic label on mangoes from brazil.
Seriously so similar to ours. I go to like 2 to 3 stores but also have a local fruit stand I love to visit. The owners are amazing and always give me discounts. It's the luxury of living in San Diego and having fresh produce!
Yay, Grocery haul video, love them. Cheapest bananas I find are at Walmart where I can get around 15-20 spotty bananas for $1, though they aren't organic.
Don’t know what it was but I really enjoyed this video. I love your videos but this one had a refreshing feel to it. Maybe because I loved the sound of your 350/370z whichever one you have, you went to my favorite Canadian shopping places (Canadian living in the US😒), or because you were wearing my sweater. I don’t know. Loved it.
Fun and inspiring. I share these with friends and family often. The cat interfering cracks me up...but I know that well... Keep it up...we need more athletes that keep it light!! :)
Nice Derek love it when you take us along with you and crystal grocery hauling. I thouggt it was a good deal on what you guys spent for the amount of food you have.
My family buys very similar groceries, our fresh produce lasts about a week. If something is about to go bad we either use it in our next meal or freeze it and use it for future meals/smoothies.
When you said groceries were expensive there, I thought you were going to say that was $300 or something. I live in Seattle and that easily would have run us $300 or more. Jealous....
Wow, really? I imagine this would have been more costly if we bought it all from whole foods, or a store like that. The reason we go to a few different stores to get our groceries is for the deals at each one haha
I live like 2 hrs south of Seattle and it's probably about what he said. I'd never live in Seattle. Horrible place. Even thinking of going there makes me want to shit on a sidewalk haha.
Every time I watch your videos I get such a positive vibe.. you guys are so humble.. I’m really enjoying your channel.. BTW I just got the ebook I’m ready to get creative thanks to you.. god bless both of you guys and thanks
I think that is on par with what it would cost in Australia. I love seeing grocery hauls. Got me inspired for when I make my menu and shopping list later today.

You shop well. I think what you spent is quite reasonable. I live in the States in an area where food is not super expensive and I spend a similar amount.. Love it when all three of you are in the vid together. And I feel healthier just watching.
At Costco, here in WA State, they switched the Spring Mix from tubs to double bags..... Love this video :-) , you 2 have such happy, feel good vibes (and an awesome message).
At least you are not supporting factory farming. I hate the plastic too. I sometimes will skip one item if I can get the same in a recyclable container.
Man, looks like I'll be moving to Canada. 180 canadian bucks for all that is insanely cheap comapared to scandinavian prices... and that variety is like something out of dream 😍
I found it humorous that our Costco shopping list is nearly identical. We also love their frozen broccoli and canned black olives (I have to slice them but it's a small "price" to pay for the quality). I found it interesting to see the differences in prices.
I'm always excited about the fruits and vegetables that I'm buying. I love the power of colour of differents vegetables. It always cheers me up :) great video
Watched a few food videos of yours for inspiration now but this one was the best because I saw dash gauges and instantly knew you were in a 350 👌 my 2 favourite things, good food and good cars 😂
Veggie sticks have rights too. Cant believe that veggie stick was just thrown on the ground like that. Poor thing, all scared and alone.
Crystal wouldn't let me eat it.
😂😂😂😂
Yeah, that was really screwed up man.
I would look around if nobody watching I'm eating that

Your grocery stores makes me soooo jealous. UK is so hit and miss for groceries I swear, now I feel hungry. Love you guys.
You are right. Never even seen tempeh where I live in the UK. You get the freshest, cheapest vegetables you can, when you can !
Ha was thinking the same and thought it would be so nice to be back in the states for grocery shopping
A really enjoyable video. Love grocery hauls, meals you prepare, your exercise regime. Would love to see Crystal prep meals.

Jørgen Fallet Mosand I laughed way too hard at the first line. Fuck my immature brain.
$130 US doesn’t sound unreasonable for the amount of food you got! I guess the more important question is how long will all that last you? Lol
I am literally so surprised at how much they got for so little in comparison to the typical weekly grocery trip!
I've been wondering that too. Like I'm considering going vegan and I want to know more details on cost and how long that food will last them. Like how much for a month of food?
Derek and his pocket veggie straws = Napoleon Dynamite and his pocket tots : ) I kept thinking this every time!
I liked the asmr part heheh great video :)

@Yosef Enzo Whoa! That sounds like a super authentic reply!!

I prefer Snapea Crisps over Veggie Straws..... less fat, half the sodium, way more protein, potassium, though the straws are more addictive.
