I love my Custom Meathunter Rods. They are the only one's my dad, brother and I buy. We have 7,8,9,10x3, 11(11 footer hard to find) 12x3,13x2,14x2 footer's.
I just got a Meat Hunter heavy action rod. I'm not sure I should have gone with the heavy one. Does anyone have any problems using circle hooks with this rod?
You are probably trying to set the hooks. Circle hooks are not meant to bet set. The hook will set itself most times when the fish turns. If you think you have a fish on you just tighten up the line. Just reel and the hook will set. If you try to set the hook by yanking the rod you will miss most the time.
I use heavy action and I use gamakatsu octopus hooks and have no problems check my channel it cast great and you can get a good hook set I you have alot of line out flimsy rods don't seem to have hookup as good
Nice I'm gonna get one of them I like the fact that they are made in the USA
Meathunter Rods are the way to go!!! I have a few of them and love them!!!
I just happened to be delivering to a Circle k near lake Tawakoni and scored a couple of these, medium heavy, 8ft rods for $30 a rod.
Just recently purchased a Meat Hunter Supreme rod. 8ft med-heavy for trophy catfishing. Its awesome!! Nice vid....

Close. It looks like they are based I'm Alma, AK. But just a stones throw away from OK.
Electrical tape wrapped around the reel foot ends works well and will give it that firm placement. Lasts a long time as long as you leave it mounted.
I think I will be getting one the Meat hunter Flex model.
I hear it's a good one!
Have a look at catmaster rods English supposedly which English gear is up there with the best in the world.
