- The newly revealed Type-8 seems perfect in every way. Will it be the best ship in Elite Dangerous? Here are my thoughts.

The sexiest cargo truck in the universe.
I want one.
These ships are a step in the right direction, and so far both the P2 and the Type 8 look amazing. But didn't the original Type 8, from lore, have problems with the fsd going boom? Let's hope they sorted that out before strapping in the new SCO.
The Elite community makes me laugh sometimes though. For ages it was like "We want new ships, give us a reason to spend money on the game". Fdev raises the arx price for ship kits and paint (optional), releases new ships for early access to buy with arx (also optional). And the community is like "How dare they raise the price of skins, and it's pay to win, I'm not giving Fdev any money!". Fdev can't win.
Myself, I'm gonna support the game by buying all the ships they release early access. Close to 2,000 hrs in a game I paid around £20 for, they deserve something out of me.
I already seen people on reddit complaining about it. From it being too different to similarities to other space game ship designs. I am looking forward to it big time. But no, community will find the reason to complain xD
Well that didn't last long lol
I will buy one for sure. I bought the base Python Mk2 - no regrets - I like it as an alt to the FDL and a compliment to the Mamba. The Type 8 could be perfect for blockade running.
The P2 has been a lot of fun to fly but I have a sneaky feeling that the type-8 will surpass it, purely because before I was called to exploration by the sirens of the void, there was always trading and rare goods runs. T8 is said to have a good selection of hardpoints so it should be well armed (pun totally intended - you're welcome CMDRs). o7
I might not mine in this due to the restricted field of view but my fingers are crossed for a good jump range... something close to a phantom when stripped down would make me very, very happy...
The view won't be obstructed because the cockpit is placed lower than those arms. We will get to see a preview in the next dev stream
@@lootandgrind looking forward to the preview 👍
Guess it depends how u mine. For me, core mining is my cup of tea... full field of view, up-down-left-right needed to see those lovely lemony coloured cores.
I can't wait to go mining in this thing, it has just the right look for a space mining vessle imo
Same here
Definitely getting one
The core body reminds me of an up-sized type 6. Hopefully it will hold around 200 t of cargo to compete with the python mk1.
My thoughts exactly
I worry that in the name of balance, something will have to be nerfed.
To be a hauler, it needs lots of "optional internals" - which is also ideal for a miner
My concern is the type 7 only has 4 class 1 beams. I know we saw 5 weapons firing in the demo, but if they're only class 1, that'll limit how good a miner it will be. Also, we have no clue how good the distributor will be. It honestly has the look of a miner! Mine will either be a miner or a Robigo Mines passenger ship. We'll have to wait and see :)
Yeah, there will be some limitations. I wouldn't want it to dethrone Python as the best miner but let's see how it goes
If it's TOO good - it'll make everything else obsolete...
I hope its well balanced.
It's basically just a EVE Online Venture or Star Citizen Vulture.
elite citizen is began
If this ship can hold more than 784T then im buying it, looks cooler than the T9 brick lol, I dont really like the front but the back is awesome, looks cool as fuck
This ship is very similar in shape to the vVnture from the Eve Online and the Vulture from the Star Citizen. But that's just my opinion.
Reminds me on a ship in clone wars, or was it rogue one
no, it's just the latest, everybody keeps saying the same at whatever is new "oh this is the best"
"I wont hesitate to throw money at the game" ... so, you are the issue
No.. the people who *won't* throw some money at what is still the best space sim around, are the issue...
@Garryck-1 I'm sorry but games should never have had support from micro transactions. Games where developed and the consumers way better off before hand. Release more content as an expansion if you need more money. Make a subscription and release content periodically if you need constant money. Swiping for shi that should be in the game is lazy and doesn't give us the consumer anything we shouldn't already have
total rip off of Star citizen 's Drake Vulture
Funny thing to say since Venture has been around for twenty years.
