I wouldn't bother building a panel when it doesn't have any function and it covers part of the screen . I would just go for the panorma screen , a good chair with a tracking device to feel the movement of the ship and rumbler functions , and ofcourse the flying control joystick, other than that really cool , just get rid of the facke dashboard
There would be an issue when the in game cockpit and your own cockpit don't match. But something like a large cupola is definitely the next step from this (or two).
1985 Elite. I loved that time. Thank you.
Thank-you for posting that original C64 docking tune!! Not heard that in years :))))))
low frame rates would drive me nuts. the catchy graphics not flowing smoothly would make me go back to a headset without hesitation!
You better have a 7.1 system with a stack of amps!
Currently, I'm running 3 PAs, on my all analog 7.1 system, and it is mind-blowing.
This is the future of gaming. Also you need vr for extra immersion tbh
Love it, jealous. Think id remove the additional cockpit, let the in-game one handle everything.
Wife: WOW, you build all this for our kids?
Guy: Eh... sure, for kids.
Very impressive. What screens / hardware did you use for your custom controls? I was speaking to a friend of mine about this exact concept, but my vision was not as polished as yours obviously is. I really want to make some custom touch screen controls just as you have. Thanks again and great job!
Awesome build, all it needs now is a gimbal mount and some pistons, just to get the feel on the gravity tilt and boosting :). Also not to forget your missus to get you a cosplay space suit to go with it all:P
Played the original Elite on C64 back in ‘86. That music haha
Can't believe you didn't boost out the mail slot. Ya gotta impulse out the station like Captain Kirk. None of this thrusters only stuff. Nice setup though. :P
Hey, I tried to go through the mail slot as slow as possible because it makes so much fun to watch the sides going beside of me! :-)
it also helps to adjust the FOV in the config file. you can sit it to parameters beyond what the in game menu allows
its still very nice after all the years, the dimensions just fit wich is a big thing
Thanks for video, Great work. I have played ELITE in VR since 2015 . You did an amazing job, Awesome !
Amazing job man, respect! I'm a film student and currently designing a cockpit for a sci fi short film so this really was inspirational to watch. Grüsse aus London
:-) thx!
Einfach nur Cool...vorallem der Abschluss mit der orginal Elite Melodie :-)
wird man ja nostalgisch Ad Astra ;-)
That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! You should look into upgrading to 4k projectors. It would take it to a whole new level.
You´re right, but that would be too expensive. I don´t know a "cheap" 4k-projector...Do You?
Markus B. yea, the cheap ones start at 3k.
Teivel Belial without taking into account the GPU power needed to power it.
