Taking the seeds out makes it less hot - deffo true. The capsaicin (the spicy part of the pepper) is in the white fleshy stuff which holds the seeds in place. If you remove it, you remove some heat. Try biting the bottom tip of a chilli pepper, then try biting into a seed. You will feel the difference!

The seeds and white pith within a chili contain the vast majority of the capsaicin. That's what makes chilis hot.
I tried this recipe but instead I used dried chilli and birds eye chilli and it wasn't spicy. Delicious recipe thank you
