Great job Cody! You have a very good knack of explaining things very well. It is great to learn this. I would love to see more of these. The next boat i buy will definitely have this new functionality.
You are excellent at expressing a message, with appropriate use of graphic material, precise, concise and to the point without any tangential comments. Great channel. I wish one day you would to a tutorial on Garmin HD2 radars. Thank you for this video. I just subscribed
Hi Cody, I have the Helmmaster EX with a Garmin 8600 GPS, In regards to the Auto Pilot, if I set a single destination point, then "guide to" or "navigate to" (the option that plots a safe route), to activate Helmmaster auto pilot just hit the track point button? It works fine if I set several way points and create route but does not seem to follow the Guide to route with a single waypoint etc. I am doing something wrong?
@@codylongmarine thanks. I watched a video which said with helm master 3 above a certain speed you could change speed increments in half a mile increments. Just wondering what the Aus version was in km?
Yep. you can use the Auto Guidance and autopilot together. I highly recommend not using this in the intercoastal or anywhere there may be other boat traffic.
Of while navigating to a waypoint using autopilot, you tap the joystick left or right, does the boat offset from the original track by a certain amount?
If you are navigating to a waypoint autopilot won’t let you use the joystick to alter your course. If you are on heading hold or course hold you will be able to adjust the course by moving the joystick.
I am getting my first Yamaha Joystick ( had Merc and Volvo ) ... you did a great job and I am impressed with some of the features.
Thanks. Yes, great job!
Can’t wait to use mine when I get my new boat.

Thanks. Does left and right stick motion do anything during heading hold or course hold or is it just twisting the stick to change course?
Can you show how to slow or stop your drift with a current and maintain the boats heading?
What do the F1 and F2 buttons do?
Great video. With the Speed control and auto helm 3, what increments can you change your speed if you are doing GPS speed control.
When you are in the RPM setting you can change the RPM by 50. You can even bring the speed way down to where the boat will shift in and out of gear.

Does track point also work with Garmins Auto Guidance feature?
