5:00 there are two reasons why the developers would've expected the player to be able to figure out you could burn the windmill, but only one really made it into the final game. For someone that comes from playing the other games, adding to ADP is some sort of a must to make your life easy and not learn the perfect roll all over again.
@@jironamos7650 Easy? Strongly disagree. It's far from easy, even with high ADP, you still need to learn perfect roll. First reason. I just got chills thinking how cool I am for summoning and defeating a dragon covenant guy on one of my first DS remastered playthroughs. I didn't play OG DS1 so it was a double first for me. Hype hype.
I had always been led to believe the humanity drop from enemies where a boss was present to be completely random, but it being a counter makes more sense, I suppose. You're limited in the amount of humanity you can obtain in each area this way, supposedly about 10 humanity, and again, if you clear the boss beforehand, you miss out on the humanity drop. Fortunately it's not important. While it is a nice way to get bonus humanity, the best way to farm humanity in this game is by running through the sewers with a high humanity count. Every time a rat drops one, use it until about a count of 10 "soft humanity" (hard humanity being the items, because it's more tangible, I guess) and then just repeat the area over and over until you have as many hard humanities as you like. If you haven't beaten the boss, you could even farm the area for your 10 humanity that way rather than using the items, but it's better to clear it to avoid invasions and get your humanity faster by using the items. I don't know if it's been patched to have a lower drop rate, but I highly doubt it. Rats are plain and simple the best way to get humanity in Dark Souls 1.
I remember only seeing one vagrant in ds1 and it was in the tomb of the giants. It destroyed me with a ranged attack before I could get a good look at it and it took forever to figure out what it was
It's pretty amazing how everyone who has played through knew about at least a couple of these. A couple times throughout the vid i was like "i knew that one" and I'm guessing a lot of others had the same experience
In Dark Souls 1 the extra humanities that you can get from repeatedly farming enemies works with a little more depth. Essentially, for every named area of the game, you can aquire 10 humanities by farming enemies over and over. You will not recieve any additional ones in that area after you reach 10, unless you go into NG+. This is a very slow process, but it is the only singleplayer method that I know of for farming humanities that are not in the item form.
I always assumed the bonus estus from high level enemies in ds3 was the player stealing that enemies estus, as there are some enemies that heal with estuses
There’s one in dark souls one that is similar to resonance rings but instead of boosting faith miracles it instead gives you another estus when a player who is in another world drinks one near by
Another thing about burning the windmill in DS2. You know that first bonfire in Harvest Valley behind the pool of poison? If you return there after burning the mill, the pool will be drained, just like in the boss arena.
In Dark Souls 3 enemies affected by frostbite they take +7% more damage. Enemies doused in water will take more lightning damage. (Unsure of the percentage of damage increase. This is similar to the Iron Flesh/ Ston Flesh Weapon Art for Havel’s shield decreasing the user’s lightning absorption) In Dark Souls 2, in the big cave with the pirates and Felix Sentry boss, The Old Guard NPC will beckon you to come closer to heal the player if damaged enough. This can save you an Estus or two for the boss fight if you summon him to help at that part.
I got both rings at the same time in one run and I would tell anyone who wants to do it don’t give up I would always die near the end but I never gave up and after 10 runs I got it you got this :)
the semi-indistrucible walls, like the one in sen's fortress where big hat logan are positioned can be destoryed by enemy attack that inflicts more than 100 "true damage". normally the player is limited to 99, but the stretching animation from when you load up a game does 101. the thing it so that you don't get stuck into destuctible items moved by the reload, but if you get the right place to go to the main menu, it breaks them automatically on loading the function is the same in both 2 and 3 as well, but there are no walls of that kind

I know this is a secrets video, but does anyone know the lore surrounding the overkill extra souls? I spotted it recently but really can't work out how the soul could grow in size like that at least lore wise
I wouldn't call covenant items with clear purpose "hidden" mechanics. Anyways if you get your message rated at least in ds2, you get healed Edit: also in dark souls 1 you get an estus
You don't need to rest at a bonfire to get the extra estus. You get 5 at every bonfire and 10 at every bonfire with a firekeeper. But you get one more out in the field when you see a sort of soul-draining effect. This is caused by a player kindling the bonfire you rested at last. It's not all that common, so you shouldn't expect it like three or more in a row or something, but it's common enough that you'll get it maybe every day if you're lucky.
Also in dark souls 3 some weapons in particular have a bonus parameter against abyss enemies (wolf knight Gs, farron Gs) and Lucatiel's sword in ds2 (now dubbed Hollowslayer) deas bonus dmg vs hollows

Rats are plain and simple the best way to get humanity in Dark Souls 1.
gravelord signs are used often in oolacile township on pc for chaotic pvp in tandem with a bug to enable summoning phantoms with gravelording.
I remember only seeing one vagrant in ds1 and it was in the tomb of the giants. It destroyed me with a ranged attack before I could get a good look at it and it took forever to figure out what it was
Whenever Zee uploads, it's a good day. Other than that this video was awesome like always.
You can use almost any removable tail as a weapon except for Sinh's tail. No idea why - Sinh certainly uses it effectively as a whip during combos...
6:03 does that mean becoming the Dragonform is rare now a days? XD
Hey dude I'm honestly super impressed by your editing, what software do you use?
They should've gave Guidance the ability to grant a small buff to item discovery.
In Dark Souls 3 enemies affected by frostbite they take +7% more damage. Enemies doused in water will take more lightning damage. (Unsure of the percentage of damage increase. This is similar to the Iron Flesh/ Ston Flesh Weapon Art for Havel’s shield decreasing the user’s lightning absorption)
In Dark Souls 2, in the big cave with the pirates and Felix Sentry boss, The Old Guard NPC will beckon you to come closer to heal the player if damaged enough. This can save you an Estus or two for the boss fight if you summon him to help at that part.
What a fantastic glitch cut on the opening. It was almost like that was what the method was for.
I got both rings at the same time in one run and I would tell anyone who wants to do it don’t give up I would always die near the end but I never gave up and after 10 runs I got it you got this :)
you won me with that datamosh intro
You're making DS UA-cam content that shouts out other DS UA-camrs, this family of creators is the best
I knew all of these. Honestly at this point I would be severely shocked if anybody told me a mechanic that I didn't know lol
the semi-indistrucible walls, like the one in sen's fortress where big hat logan are positioned can be destoryed by enemy attack that inflicts more than 100 "true damage". normally the player is limited to 99, but the stretching animation from when you load up a game does 101. the thing it so that you don't get stuck into destuctible items moved by the reload, but if you get the right place to go to the main menu, it breaks them automatically on loading
the function is the same in both 2 and 3 as well, but there are no walls of that kind
@@serPomiz I knew this one too. I don't remember who posted about it, but I've seen it when it was posted on UA-cam. Lol I really don't think anyone is gonna find one I don't know, that is readily available knowledge
@@DankSoulsVoid most obscure thing i heard about ds1 is that if you ascend a Server with chaos or fire it will change the item's description. As im aware its the only item in the whole series that does that.
@@kodrakhan4410 haha I knew this one from personal experience I'm a weirdo who likes the server. It's a pretty dope little Easter egg
You can hit a bonfire sword with lightning and it has a special animation, like a lightning rod of sorts
I'm always surprised to learn new things about these games. I knew about 45% of these but I guess there's still a lot more to know about.
Is glitchy transition intentional? If so what's it called?
It is he does it in some videos.

@@waker_link Thank you!
I was playing DS1 last week and I first encountered a crab enemy near the Titanite Demon in the Catacombs. Never ever seen it before.
wait, you had trouble finding dragon signs? back when I was playing ds1 pvp a bunch, they were everywhere!
Wow. I didn't know some of these at all. Thanks!
little known fact that in the covertus demons boss fight, you can shoot the things on the roof of the area and the demon will eat them when they fall
Yeah, it’s also a little known fact that you can actually die to him too. Haven’t seen anyone get it to actually happen though /:
@@Eyebrowsincorporated That boss is so underwhelming, it would have been better as a starting boss, even The "Last" Giant is harder than it.
Makes me think about how many secret machanics there will be in Elden Ring
In DS1, divine weapons permanently kill skeletons that would normally be revived by the necromancers in the catacombs.
Catch Astoras sword from valley of drakes and go ham on the skellys.
It does holy dmg
That petrification statue thing was in DS1 as well. Aside from that great video
you can invade another player’s boss fight in DS2. if you have a red summon sign down there’s a chance that, when the looking glass knight summons an NPC phantom, it’ll summon you instead!
there is also a miracle sinergy mechanic that spawns white rings is other worlds if u use a strong heal or WoG
and those boost healing spells or force wog and emit force withing range
and they also stack up to 5 or so
and there is a ring that Gwynevere gives u that gives u +1 lvl if synergy as if u were always near one of those rings
oh and btw
i did saw a couple of dragon eyes in ds1 and ds2
the cool thing is that u cant see them if u have a phantom or darkwraith in ur world cz those sighns are only for dueling
always fascinates me how players discover these. like the pig one, someone was just bored and tested it out randomly?
Sometimes its datamining, but in the past when datamining was out of the question, it was mere luck.
I know this is a secrets video, but does anyone know the lore surrounding the overkill extra souls? I spotted it recently but really can't work out how the soul could grow in size like that at least lore wise
there is no lore reason, its just for fun
I guess it's because if you overkill a mob, it means that you are in late game and that you need more souls than in early game
It's like juicing an orange, smash it hard enough and you'll get more oj than if you just squeezed in normally.
I just saw the Dragon Eye Symbol yesterday while playing with my friend and we wondered what it was. Didn't knew it was that rare
One you missed Is you take 20% more lightining damage when you use Ironflesh and 20% less fire damage.
In DS3 it's 60% more lightning damage
I wouldn't call covenant items with clear purpose "hidden" mechanics. Anyways if you get your message rated at least in ds2, you get healed
Edit: also in dark souls 1 you get an estus
Same thing in ds3
and sekiro~
You don't need to rest at a bonfire to get the extra estus. You get 5 at every bonfire and 10 at every bonfire with a firekeeper. But you get one more out in the field when you see a sort of soul-draining effect. This is caused by a player kindling the bonfire you rested at last. It's not all that common, so you shouldn't expect it like three or more in a row or something, but it's common enough that you'll get it maybe every day if you're lucky.
Something cool about DS2 online pvp is that you can hear the parry dingle when a player parries another player
The hidden hollows in is new to me. That is crazy.
In DS1 i once saw that dragon convenant summon sign in Oolacile Township. The sorcerer behind the sign hitkilled me with a dark bead
Also in dark souls 3 some weapons in particular have a bonus parameter against abyss enemies (wolf knight Gs, farron Gs) and Lucatiel's sword in ds2 (now dubbed Hollowslayer) deas bonus dmg vs hollows
I love ds2, I really do. But damn those rings, and that forsaken pickaxe are a true Herculean trial
Everytime I am online DS2, the windmill always has a message that says try torch.
the dragon eye sign in ds1 was new to me, it looks sick as hell
Too bad the Dragon Covenant was butchered in ds3…
in theory, it's the best sign to see, as regardless someone WILL get the reward
in actuality, that makes it the easier covenant to "casually" level up
The dragon sign being rare to find? I was literally the one to leave those all around just to farm scales for the covenant, lol. Mostly in Anor Lomdo.
Ah, The dragon eye . I still remember the days in dark souls 2 when i keep putting dragon sign down to farm dragon scale so that i can get the full dragon set.
