Yup
Absolutely
AMEN
Damn right
Hell yea
Yay, Kristen is back with another vid. I've probably watched all the YT short manga vids, so I'm really pleased you gave us this one 👍🏼 I just don't which one to get: BLAME! or PLUTO?
🤗Hey!!! Really been wanting to do this video to showcase all of these series, so I’m happy you enjoyed it! Oh man, that’s a tough decision haha Two of my all time favorites. If you are in the mood for a complex mystery with emotional character stories and storytelling, Pluto is amazing but if you are in the mood for a simple yet still highly detailed story that has less dialgue and incredible worldbuilding, Blame! is an amazing choice too. Plus, those Blame! Master Editions 👌You definitely can’t go wrong with either!
@@AnimeCollective haha, thanks. Tough choices. I do love me a big edition.
I just finished Blame, it's the absolute best.
😮I've been hesitant of buying any other mangas outside of my comfort reads..now that I've seen your videos I can grab some of your recommendation..thanks for inspiring me to widen my manga collection! Keep it up! Thanks alot! I'm a new fan here.❤❤❤
I've heard of most of these but your synopses definitely sold me on some I had been on the fence about before. Completed and shorter manga is my preference, so I'm really happy to see this type of video!
Hey! So awesome to hear that you are getting into some of the series. I really hope you enjoy them and you’ll have to let me know what you think! I’ve been the same way lately as well. Love a lot of long-running series, but it feels great to pick up a series in full and know its complete too 😊
Love the Lorna shore hoodie 👌
Hey, thank you! So happy there’s a fellow Lorna Shore fan! They are one of my favorite bands so had to get some merch 🔥
Excellent recommendations! Thank you :)
YES Insomniacs After School is absolutely phenomenal! Thank you for shouting out this excellent series as well as all the other great ones you mentioned
@AnimeCollective hey! Started collecting and reading manga a couple of months ago so I was looking for series that are on the shorter side and easier to collect! This video is a godsend, thanks 🙏super informative and entertaining.. awesome content and channel! 😊
Mushishi is one of my favorite anime of all time and I'm so glad the manga's getting a shoutout here. It's so hard, nearly impossible, to get copies in English :( where did you happen to get them??
These are all fantastic series! I've read all of them except for Summertime Rendering (which is on my tbr list).
Dungeon Meshi is another series under 15 volumes that I highly reccomended. It just finished up last year at 14 volumes. I've been reading manga/watching anime since the early 2000s, and it is one of the most well written series I've experienced across any medium. Plus, the anime adaptation that Trigger has been working on has been fantastic!
You can really tell that Ryoko Kui is so passionate about the characters and the world that she created. Between her blog, the Daydream Hour Art Book, and the Complete Adventurer's Bible, there are hundreds of pages of bonus content, and pretty much nothing goes unanswered. It starts off episodic, but small details snowball into a grand story with fantasy geopolitics, amazing character design, heartfelt moments, horror, comedy, a biological/ecological take on Dungeons, and so much more.
Hey! Thank you so much for reminding me of Dungeon Meshi! I have been meaning to get back into reading as well as watching the series since I’ve heard a lot of amazing things. Have Volume 1 so far but I need to get back into it, especially after hearing what you had to say! I love series where the creator really gets into the creation of the world, characters, and you can tell how passionate they are about the series (Reminds me of one of my favorite creators Q Hayashida and Dorohedoro), so I am even more excited to get into the series now.
The blog looks amazing so thank you for letting everyone, including myself, know about it. Thank you again for sharing your lovely words about Dungeon Meshi. Every time I hear someone talk about a series they enjoy it makes me want to read it! Plus anything that mixes heartfelt moments with comedy and horror and is so thoughtfully designed sounds right up my alley too.
Have you read
SOMALI AND THE FOREST SPIRIT [ beautiful but with just a touch of dreed]
also The Girls Last Tour [ 6 vol. only, postapocaliptic world]
I ended up dropping homonculus around volume 6 because it felt like it was never gonna go anywhere. Should I continue reading?
18:45 Also, why not read Happiness. It's only 10 volumes.
21:08 I couldn’t finish Dead Dead Demons, I could only make it to vol 4, I hated it, especially the character Oran. All she does is scream & shout about gaming, she doesn’t have a single normal conversion with anyone, nearly always pretending she’s a soldier from her game. I also don’t like the style of art, the art is not bad, it’s actually very good, but I hate how he draws the characters. It’s the first manga that I stopped reading, wish I hadn’t bought all the volumes.
Hii
We need an updated collection tour video 👀
Thanks for the recommendations 😁
Homunculus is actually a 3 in 1 , since after the 15 volumes , it was re done in 10 volumes and now those 10 volumes are being done in a 2 in 1
have you read haikyu? if you have it in your collection, will you make a comparison with the single volumes and 3-in-1 (omnibuses when it comes out) ?
Mushishi needs another print.
Your vids always cheer me up! Thank you for mentioning Evangelion! Underrated manga for sure.
Insomniacs After School, such an underrated manga with a good story and some incredible panels.
Thank you for your great reading tips on your channel. The Berserk and Helsing Deluxe Editions were amazing and provided me with many enjoyable reading hours 😊
It's Said like blam like a sound effect 😂😂 but other then that great video and great list I actually just picked up the tree of death yomotsuhegui
Awesome idea for a video and some great recommendations. I wanna check out Summertime Rendering now. I had an idea for a video: Best ongoing series that you can start now and easily catch up
Can you make a video about the versions of Pokemon adventures ?
@AnimeCollective do you think Ao ashi manga will be released in english?
Excellent overview. Really helpful for someone that has some manga reading but isn't sure where to go next.
Eureka seven ! Even better anime same with psyren no anime tho
Thanks a ton for the recommendations. I'll 100% be picking some up. Your channel has been helping me out SO MUCH, as I recently began my manga collecting journey! Tysm for helping me build a beautiful library of high quality manga
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! 😊Building your collection is always a fun experience but when I got started I was so lost haha There was so much to get into, so it means a lot to hear that the videos helped out! I hope you enjoy the series you are picking up and have an awesome day!!!
Great video as always. I've read many of these so I can say these are some very neat recommendations.
Blame! is amazing and Tsutomu Nihei is a genius.
Why didn't you include vinland saga with 13 2.5 in 1 volumes or 5 deluxe editions 😢😢😢
Because it's technically more than 15 volumes.
How is The Drifting Classroom not on this list?
Anime collective doesn’t disappoint
oi, are there any deluxe editions for erased-
Love this concept for a video!
Hellsing is pretty good aswell!
I completely agree with this list and there are a few I’ll check out. The only thing I’d add is that I found Happiness more enjoyable than Flowers of Evil. Blood on the Tracks is my favorite but it’s over 15 volumes.
Finally after 2 month
Homunculus I just could not get into after 4 volumes it just didn't intrigue me enough to want to know more. Thanks for the list will deffo check out your others ones :)
I came to know about a Manga called "Kingdom". Can you make a video on it. I would like to know more about Kingdom.
Btw Excellent Recommendation 🙌
Amazing list, amazing work. How do you only have 40k subscribers. First time I've looked and just assumed youd have atleast a mill.
Im sure you'll get there!
One manga that should check out is Tomahawk Angel. It's being made by a greek artist and the artwork is just unbelievable. There are only two volumes out by dark horse. It's really worth a shot
great variety
These are all really good recommendations.
Love the format!! I will check out most if these series
If anybody can get their hands on and English set of Mushishi for less than like $900, I will be astounded
great recommendations, can you do a one shots/single/double volumes?
started the dead dead few days ago, art is amazing, slow burn story, again great creation from Inio.
As a lovecraft fan the reveal in uzimaki was amazing. Great hardcover too, especially with gyo and tomei in the same style
Another ending is the last thing Evangelion needs haha. But I just added this to my wishlist last week, no idea why I haven’t bought it yet since it’s my favourite anime.
Great video. I really needed such a video as getting into 20+ volumes series can be quite an investment in time and money. Shorter series work best for me.
lorna shore. nice
My favourite Seinen manga under 15 volumes are Elfen Lied, Pluto, Akira & Hellsing, then a Shonen is Akame ga Kill, then an Ecchi Seinen is Yokai Girls.
Welcome to the NHK is the most depressing thing ive ever read and one of the few series ive dropped even though I liked it
Very informative. Thanks for the great video. I’ll pick up the spiral one for sure.
The Akira box set is so nice, they’re the nicest looking hardcovers that I have, they look so good.
Welcome to the NHK looks good but it’s not available online so won’t be able to get it.
You should read crossed by Avatar Press. I own all the hard covers
Very good list!
Love the hoodie! 🤘🏻
That's A nice looking hoodie.
Every single series named in the video are bangers. Solid list 👏
I literally just started your lie in april yesterday! So far so good!
Petition for the next video to focus on one-shots or single volumes.
Manga aside, I love your Lorna Shore hoodie!
Amazing video . Keep up the good work
BABE WAKE UP ANIME COLLECTIVE POSTED
BRILLIANT!!!!!
Whats the difference between Ito's and Furaya's version of No Longer Human
Hey! I’ve read them all so I will try my best to answer your question. Bit of a lengthy response here to explain since they are each unique takes on the novel! Junji Ito’s version starts more with the protagonist’s childhood and then tells the story of events through adolescence and adulthood, while Furuya’s starts with the main character being in adulthood. Through his eyes, he reminisces back on his life and the things that ultimately led him to struggle to connect with humanity and its more so about the current effects of said experiences on his current life. There is also a third-party narrator of sorts in Usamaru Furuya’s story that added a lot to the story as well. Due to the ages of the main characters at that the start of each, they are told through somewhat different lenses at various points in the story. Some of the experiences they go through are quite different too and how each interpreted the events of the novel are unique as well, more psychological and thriller-like in Furuya’s edition, and a bit more horrifying in nature in Ito’s, so the tones are quite different.
I will say that the original novel is amazing and one I highly recommend. I think both are good adaptations of the original novel by Osamu Dazai, but in my opinion, Furuya did a more faithful adaptation and beautifully captured the commentary and meaning of the novel and its more emotionally heavy for me (more like something like Goodnight Punpun), while Ito put a bit more of his own flair into it. Junji Ito’s version is more horrifying in its retelling, but Furuya’s dives more into the psychological realm. The dynamics of the groups, like friends, family members, and the setting, are a lot different; Furuya’s being set in a more modern time period, while Ito’s is more reminiscent of the period that Osamu Dazai would have grown up in. They are similar in many ways, especially since they adapt the same novel, they are incredibly different due to Ito and Furuya’s individual takes on the story and individual styles. Hope that helps!
@@AnimeCollective I see, given the variances in both the versions I suppose I will give both of them a shot, I have read the original thus I think I would favour Furuya's version, thanks for the response
Nicw video
@Anime Collective why did you steal my list? 🥸
