Color is amazing but I prefer black and white for my horror manga. Just a personal preference. New color editions seem worth the money though!
I prefer black and white for all my manga. You catch every single detail.
Color editions have only been good for me with Bleach, OP and Jojo. But monochrome is generally the way to go.
Thing that always gets me with new editions, like this one, is if they have updated lettering and translation usually! I tend to prefer black and white also but will pick up the fully colorized in addition to experience it in a new way. The Highschool of the Dead Full Color Editions is one that proved to me just how amazing full color editions can be! Definitely worth the money and both are great editions for sure!
I also don't really care about the color but from a collector's perspective I always prefer higher quality prints.

your videos are so underrated. I've been sharing them with friends who want to know how to collect series you've covered because i've never seen anyone else on youtube cover multiple additions of a series as in depth as you do. theyre also very straight forward and organized so I sit down to watch them even if im not looking to collect the series thats being cover. very entertaining, keep up the good work!

I think that there are clear waters on UA-cam for in depth comparisons between manga and anime differences in your analytic review style. Just food for thought
I know this is a channel dedicated to the collection of manga but as someone who is relatively new to manga and looking to get into them more, you should consider doing manga reviews! I've found your videos and the way you go about articulating the differences very helpful (AoT and Death Note helped me get my own) and I feel you could articulate (ideally spoiler free) reviews really well too! either way, I enjoy your videos :)

I just got the first full color edition and love the hardcover. I'll probably be keeping both to be honest. Super stoked for Full Color and the spine is great!
Thank you so much for actually talking about binding quality and mentioning when HC editions are boasting a sewn binding.
It almost drives me crazy how most Mangatubers don't care enough to talk about this.
Both are really nice editions, you can't go wrong with either of them. I personally prefer the B&W because I'm not too fond of colors that weren't originally there but that's just me.
I've never read this manga, but I did watch the anime. I remember loving it up until the very end, which I wasn't thrilled about. TBH I don't even recall how it ends, just the feeling of "it could have been better". It's still very good and a true classic.
Was just gifted this through secret Santa and have yet to read through the first 3 volumes. Was really surprised to see how it looked compared to the anime I was more familiar with. This video was really informative

I really like the full color editions but the fact that I can buy 2 of the B&W editions for the price of 1 full color edition is just too good to forget. Good thing I’m not losing much by getting the black and white editions though!
Thanks, i will definitely pick up the full color version. I check the price in my country, it's still reasonable and cheap, considering it's full color and hardcover.

I always enjoyed the series only watched the anime but would love own the manga too would probably go for full color since I like looking at visuals plus if translation is more accurate then that even more reason too 👍 Thanks for this vid.
I was actually going to pick up all the volumes back in September of 2022 then I learned a hardcover was coming and I just waited and I have Volume 1 & 2 of the full color and they look awesome. Definitely happy with these and I'm a sucke for hardcover manga
I have both editions and I really like the full color edition but I would of gladly pay $5 or $10 more for a sewn binding on the full color edition.
The full color editions are really the best way to read it hands down. It's beautiful

'Cause the decision about whether to keep the two-in-one hardcovers or to exchange them für the new three-in-one editions will be pretty hard. And your videos help a lot with these decisions.

I was in a bookstore today, and I saw the Full Color ed's on the shelf. I was like "NO WAY" because they were amazing, but I figured they'd be like $40 a piece, so I put volume 1 back. Now that you've told me they're only $20 each (or less), I'm definitely going Full Color! Death Note and Parasyte are two of my favorites. (And I'm usually not even a horror guy!) Thanks for the great comparison that solidified my choice!
I did end up buying 1-4 Full Color Parasyte. Can't believe they are only slightly more money than the black and white paperbacks! The Full Color edition is great quality.

if you want something with great body horror I highly recommend Land of The Lustrous
Color edition without a doubt, unless price is an issue or you have a very specific preference for black and white art.
Everything else regarding those editions are next level upgrades. Those are my pride and joy manga collection.
the singles matte finish is so brittle, you can breathe on it and damage the cover. Glad they're releasing a more sturdy and beautiful hardcover!

full colour are the best but my preferance is b&w cause you can watch the anime in full colour so for me full colour is pointless also i prefer originality but it dosent mean i dont like full colour its just my perspective
