- Horror is one of my all-time favorite genres and I’ve spent years exploring its depths, whether it be movies, video games, or manga. There’s everything from bloody gorefests to psychological thrillers and supernatural series in this video, so hopefully, there’s something for everyone! I have read a ton of horror manga of the years but these are the top I recommend.

Awesome - I'd recommend Higurashi When They Cry (the manga adaptation) and Made in Abyss. MiA isn't conventional horror but can be very grotesque and psychologically scary.
omg my fav kpop idol got canceled for recommending Made in Abbys he got so many death threats
Or the Higurashi VN, It’s pure unadulterated peak
2:08 I just hate manga in colour, I prefer black & white so much more. And it’s funny because in the very beginning I didn’t read manga because it was black & white hahaha. I was so used to comics in colour, but now I’m the opposite.
Gantz is a masterpiece, the Buddha arc is one of the most frantic reads I’ve ever had.
Being at the 8th volume of Homunculus and still not knowing what's going on :D
Still an amazing ride though!
Need to finish homunculus and just waiting for that final “E” for Parasyte, been a great series and the added spine art is a huge bonus, thanks for the recommendations!!
Excellent taste. Berserk and Blame! are two of my favorite mangas.
And Eden: Its an endless world 😀
I see it behind her on the shelf
Is it english translation?
Hereditary is the best horror movie in the last 25 yrs imo
Lmao it made me fall asleep
Yeahhh it ain't as good as people think it is lmao@@cake94309
Horror manga is so damn good. Shame most of them get completely overshadowed by the low quality mass produced crap that oversaturates the market lol.

Great recommendations.
I strongly recommend you SHIGURUI by Takayuki Yamaguchi.
I’m loving the recommendation it’s like you’re in my head. I just wish some of the recommendations where in English when you started to pull out certain manga I was like waitttt there’s a English copy 😮😂
@anime collective . Hi Kristin. I went and did it. I received BLAME! Vol. 1 today!!!! Damn, these books are huge, and I love it. Read the first chapter and I'm hooked. Thanks for your recommendation ❤
Yo! New video! I own Homuculus and PTSD radio save for October! And I want to check out some of your recommendations!
Also, unrelated question, I haven’t read any Gundam series, and I want to read the origin, and since the manga is pretty expensive, I was wondering if it’s a really good story or not?
I’ve been wanting to get into berserk for a while now, but heard the creator passed away, leaving the work unfinished. What arc should I stop with?
I just discovered your channel and I love it! Because of your recommendations I picked up Parasyte full color vol. 1 and am currently on the hunt for Nijigahara Holograph and The Drifting Classroom (would you ever do a release comparison video for this series?) Also peeped My Name is Shingo on the shelf too - such a gripping story and the perfect editions are beautiful!!
Hey Kristin. I love your recommendation videos. Plenty of ones I’ve not heard of here. Though I’m still tempted by the Blame collection 🤔
Thank you for the recommendations! I love horror and will try to read some of theses.
Hi I love your videos
Read everything you got more? God damn you have them all lmao even the hard copies that are Hell finding English volumes
Never heard of bibliomania, will definitely have to check it out
Great recommendations. Thanks.

Uzumaki, Gyo, Sensor and Remina are my fave Junji Itos!

Great video 🙌🏻 “Ibitsu”by Haruto Ryo is really good, too 👻👍🏻
Thanks for the recommendations.
I recommend Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show, it's a classic.
Thanks, I will add Dragon Head in my list.
and I might add suggestion: Book of Horror (Takaminato Motosuke) , Hideout (Masasumi Kakizaki), The Skull Start Moving in The Dark Night (Tetsuo), The Phantom Tower (Taro Nogisaka), Dementia 21 (Shintaro Kago), The Hundred Ghost Stories (Matono Anji)
Hey! I absolutly love your videos, but i have a question.
What are you doing after you read a manga (especially omnibus editions) to straighten its spine and its cover?
It's just one volume long, but I definitely recommend Hideout (renamed in the german version to Dark Hideout). Unfortunately it's really hard to find it in english, even secondhand.
Excellent picks! I'd love to watch a video with more recommendations. Thank you :)
I just started Homunculus a few days ago, and Mieruko-chan
24:25 Oh wow, High Rise Invasion, I’ve never seen anyone else recommend that, I bought the series 2 years ago, really liked it.
Thanks for the recommends! I’m relatively new to manga but The Summer Hikaru Died has been awesome so far!
Damn, these are a lot of recommendations, especially at the end. Thanks! I really enjoyed this video; I’m also a fan of horror manga and was looking for some that I haven't read. Looking forward to part 2!
I’d give an honourable mention to d. Gray-man, not exactly a horror series but definitely some horror themes
You really have the manga copies of Biomega. Always wanted to have that! Thanks for the recommendation too
I was hoping you’d mention Claymore! Great list 🫶
I’ve been wanting to read gannibal but I somehow still haven’t seen volume 1 anywhere
Great video. Alot of stuff I've never heard of and interesting things I might check out
Thank you for making a horror themed video! Together we can summon spooky season faster!!
You forget Hideout by Masasumi Kakizaki. 😮
Awesome vibes. Your website is inspiring it’s so well made and genuinely useful.
Thank you for the recommendations. Got some cool new manga to read ❤
I didn't know I wanted to read Parasyte until now. Thanks!
Pigpen is also an amazing horror manwha I’ve read
Dark Gathering is one of the best Manga I have read.
Hell yeah, love to see some Gantz recognition
Ghost t-shirt is based.
have you read Wild Strawberry ?
It would be awesome if you did a part 2!
Great recommendation video!
Parasyte looks insane, I wanna read it!
we need a new collection tour!!
Death Note?
There’s an Ito anime on netflix, the story where everyone’s head becomes a balloon and chases the real person around is the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.
Compared to the manga they did junji ito dirty. Especially putting it in colour instead of its traditional black and white format as it takes details away from the art. Adult swim is doing a uzumaki adaptation and it looks stunning, like the panels have come to life
@@cake94309 ehh, from what we've seen so far, that adaptation doesn't look as scary as in the pages, which is what Ito's work are best reserved to manga format
Uzumaki anime looks low budget as well considering the amount of time it took to FINALLY air and it feels low budget as well, not to mention they've already told multiple times it's NOT a full adaptation, it kinda defeats the purpose of even doing one in the first place
Nah, skip the adaptation and read the magna instead, it's MUCH better and you get the full story to boot
I hate that Jagaaaaaan had to end so blue lock could be continued 😢
How was the ending of jagaaaan ? Without spoiling
Gantz is so underated its peak art 👍
It’s my 3rd favourite manga, it’s so good.
LETS GOOOO JUST IN TIME FOR OCTOBER
I love these horror recommendations! Thank you
I bought a few Junji Ito books and was disappointed with all of them. Not scary or disturbing IMO.
Obviously not your taste and you most likely dont have any phobias his work touches on as a majority of his work is phobia based. Not all horror has to be the overdone jumpscares.
@@cake94309yeah that's true
I just started Berserk about a week ago and I’m so obsessed, very excited to delve into these while waiting for Berserk chapters 🥹🫶🏻🙂↕️
