I do find it strange that many dojos stick with a decades old warm up, when we know so much more about how the body works these days. This is a great improvement
I think there should always be a little cameo of Nat in a video. Even him just walking in with a 'oh shit, he's recording' face, and getting off camera
As always very useful. Most of them are the same that we do in our dojo but some not. So I'll incorporate them to my daily routine. Thanks again for your great tips.
Excellent warm-up. Funny enough, I've been doing very similar exercises for my classes with my students. We still do some traditional stretching at times, but more towards the end of the class. I truly believe this type of routine is better suited at the beginning of the class to get the body ready. Thanks for the video routine!
Thank God I’m subscribed and hit the bell icon. I’m about that life and you are throwing gas ⛽️ on the fire 🔥 you are what real karate is supposed to be
As the martial arts keeps growing with new information along with Karate, warmups also needs an upgrade as well and many dojo's not just Karate but other arts stick to the same old warmups from the 1950s and 60s that is so obsolete. Since discovering your vids John, I have improved not just in warmups but even being mindful of my Karate techniques.
I do all or most of these type of exercises for my class, which is quite reassuring (it helps when you wife and fellow instructor is a PT!). Only one I haven't used is those plyometric push ups, which I really like actually so will add those in. Bear Crawl is always hilarious trying to get children to keep the knees down and under the body and not stick them out to the side like a demented frog :D. P.s. I dropped you a message on your contact form on the website the other day. Hopefully you got it. I referenced my UA-cam name as well so you have a rough idea who I am lol.
@@bunburyodo the kids look like spiders doing the bear crawl sometimes! Legs all over the place. I’ll check my emails, I’ve had a problem receiving them through the website recently, if it’s not there I’ll get back to you here and give you an alternative. 👍🏼

@@RoyAlexander a lot of dojos are stuck in the past, they see innovation as a bad thing for some reason.

This is by far one of the shortest and the most useful videos I've ever watched (on the topic).. thank you for sharing!!
