Thank you for so many ideas about how to use the flowers. My garden group decoupaged them on glass lanterns.

Hi Dragana, you are always an inspiration! what a beautiful video, I remember when as a child I used to put flowers in books, how sweet and what memories. Now with your advice I can try to preserve flowers and plants in the best possible way and then have original material to use in journals. And ...obviously, storage is only part of the adventure....there is the walk, the choice, the picking of plants...it is a process that involves mind and heart and arouses ancient and close emotions. The idea of preserving and making a flower, so ephemeral and fragile, continue to live inside our little creations fills me with joy, (it sublimates the idea of recycling 😊), it brings beauty to those who make it and to those who receive it ..a timeless beauty that connects us with the simple things that contain the seeds of happiness. Thank you as always for being so creative and inspiring, for bringing so many little stimuli into our lives that make the difference. Send love 💖💖🌸💮🏵🌺🌱🌳🌾🌿☘️🍀🍁🍃🥀🌹

Hello Alessandra! I'm really glad you enjoyed this video. I agree with you 100%, storing and using these dry plants is just a one aspect of the whole process. Walks, search and find gives so much excitement and happiness and it's so nice to be outside in nature. ❤️❤️❤️

This is fun to watch during the winter as it is now and plan for summer! Fortunately I had a few dried plants to use for the Gelli printing since of course there are no live leaves now. Next summer watch out! Some of my leaves came out brittle or dried out and crunchy. For those I have learned that soaking them in a bit of water and glycerin helps them to stay pliable. I don’t know what to do for the plants that lose there color while drying, maybe I just need more absorbent paper like you did. I will try that this summer. Thank you for the advice and inspiration!! Even though this is a slightly different thing, I wanted to tell you about a success that I had with dying paper pink (my favorite color!) I had some leftover cooked red beets with some cooking water which I blended up together and then strained out the pulp. Then I just dipped the white paper into this colored water for a few seconds and let them dry. They came out a very beautiful dusty pink color! Hope you can try it! Love your channel!😊😊

Hello Donna! I'm waiting impatiently for fresh leaves too. Love to use them on gelli plate. I've picked a few the other day from my indoor plants 🤣. I don't like using dried ones on gelli, glycerin or not, they break easily. Dried leaves are great for making specimens and for decoupage. Love your idea of pink papers. I used beetroot pickled water once and got very faint pink, probably because there was vinegar in it. I have to try the cooking water. I've been experimenting with pomegranates and blueberries last few days, and it's all going to be in my new video this week. Perhaps next time I do a video on natural dyes I could do beetroots.
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment, and for sharing your dye experiment with me 😊❤️

I was searching for a way to store my pressed flowers. Although, most ideas didn’t work for me for one reason or another. I wish I would have seen your technique sooner.

Excellent video today Dragana!! Thank you! You have me looking for flowers every where now, plants too, and I have them drying in a book right now. That is working for me at the moment. I had to clamp it closed because it got to thick. But it's all fun stuff!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment Lisa! I'm glad you liked the video. I'm the same, constantly looking for something to add to my collection 😆. Books are great for this, I used them in the past a lot and I loved the results. I don't think I mentioned in the video, but try to use books with papers that are not glossy or shiny. Old books are great for this. ❤️❤️❤️

After they are dry completely, before storing the fragile ones, could you put them on baking paper & wax paper on top & iron to make them less fragile?

Can you use dried leaves in gellie printing? Or the leaves for Gellie printing must be fresh? Thank you ❤ for all you share you are a great artist.

Thank you so much! I tried using dried leaves on gel plate once and it wasn't very successful. The leaves stuck to my plate and they were hard to lift off. I remember that someone left a comment a while ago on this video about soaking dry leaves in some solutions first. Perhaps you may find your answer there 😊❤️

What size is your wooden press?

It’s bigger than my A4 papers, probably at least 1 inch bigger all around the paper 😊
