I was just browsing a FB page that I joined and I felt the need to come and leave you a note. I have noticed while viewing these shared pages that so many people are over the top with added bling that they purchase. I am fairly new to junk journaling and am older and on a fixed income so I don't have the budget to purchase all those "extras". I save up so I can get the hole punch or the corner trimmer and find items at thrift shops and around the house. All that said, I cannot express how much I appreciate YOU and what you share because you also do so much upcycling and everything you do is beautiful! Thank you so much for your inspiration and all of the sharing that you do it means so much to me. I try every single one of your new creations and will soon have some of these nifty flowers in my journals. THANK YOU! You win the "Best Instructor" award from me!!
This tutorial inspired me on two things. First is to cover a piece of Styrofoam with fabric and use that as a helper in my prickly projects. The second is to use leftovers of gift-wrapping paper to create clustered flowers as part of décor for the wrapped packages.
@@bythegraceofgod993 , thanks for replying with your comment. This reminded me to add a sticky note with brief description of all this to the container where i keep my wrapping paper. Next time i use the container I will see it and will not forget to cut offcuts into strips and make those decor flowers. At the time of the video i intended to do that but of course forgot. So thanks!
I just watched your faux rice paper tutorial and I think it would look great cut into strips and made into these flowers as well. I can see these flowers hung onto tree branches that are hung onto a wall as an art piece. And…these flowers 💐 could be glued onto pin backings and made into brooches. And…glued onto a pendant bail for a necklace. Goodness my brain is on fire, lol. Keep doing you 🔥🔥
I just made five of these flowers for a junk journal I am making. I am going down your list of ephemera for junk journals, and I am making several of them. Thank you for the tutorials.
Natasha you are brilliant!!! Of all the junk journal videos I've watched, and I've watched quite a few...well more than a few, I've wondered why more journalists have not used real stitching in some of the projects..doing the string w the buttons adds so much more to the flowers...I also think doing a blanket stitch around some ephemera would be lovely...would add so much to a project...I've plans to do that to my personal journal...thank you for all the inspiration...you are truly an inspiration...thank you!!!
Hah! I was ready! What are the odds... I had cut out a lot of strips to made beads and they just weren't coming out right, and here I saw I can use the strips to make these! This is going to be fun, thank you ❤
Im sitting here with my morning tea, ripping my newspaper into strips trying to make these. Not as easy as you make it look. ❤ I may god through the entire paper, but I will get this😊
“The possibilities are endless!!” Indeed!!! Thank you for another fun and inspiring video, Natasa! These are great! And a couple of great tips (why didn’t I think of that?! Duh! Lol) - the styrofoam to hold things in place and piercing holes to sew the buttons!!! Genius!! Great ideas! The flowers (big and small) are all so pretty and I enjoyed seeing the different ways to use them. Thank you!
It’s cute. To tell you the truth I learned this technique using fabrics embroidered from my grandma before 1980. She used dried large fish scale for the center with sequins or simply embroidered the large circle. Wish I had a piece of her work. It reminds me her creativity her beautiful embroidery. Thank you for the heads up again. These are cute on the projects you shown. Lovely
Love these rosettes! You don't need any special metal die cuts to create these rosettes. Very creative using styrofoam and pinning them down idea!!! 💡👏👏👏 This is why I so enjoy your channel! You are so creative and explain each project so well. Tfs! 💗😊
A tad frustrating at first 🥵....I've been sitting here practicing for the last 2 hours or so, I've even recruited my husband for assistance ....he gave up long ago 🤣 Patience & practice are paying off, I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. I'm not sure why I'm finding this to be so difficult. I love the style of these flowers, it's nice to have options & something other than rosettes 😁 Thank you so much for spending the time to make these wonderful videos & tutorials. You're extremely talented, creative & inspiring! I'm so glad that I found your channel 🌻 I hope that you, your family & anyone else who reads this has a beautiful day 🤍
I love all the different variations!🌼🌼🌼I like it when they look imperfect! They are perfectly imperfect just like in nature!🍀I think that's why we like things like four-leaf clovers!🥰The butterfly looks very nice!🦋 I love that the button said, "Handmade." So sweet! I really like how you gave so many examples of how you could use these! Wonderful! Thank you for sharing!
I LOVE THIS!!!! What happy additions these will make to my journals. At first I thought these were fabric yo-yo’s- wouldn’t they be pretty in a journal?? The same idea but using different material- shabby chic with the beautiful pink and rose fabrics! 🤔💨 I can’t help but keep thinking of all the things we can make! Thank you!! Xoxo 💕🥰💕
Very fun tutorial! Like all your examples, and the one with the paperclip is such a good idea. My favorite is the journal page with several flowers! Thank you so much! 🌺
Great ideas. Your videos are so well 'developed'- which shows you are a great teacher. First how to fold, then dealing with problems, ending with ideas on how to actually use them!
Wow! What a great idea! I think they are super cute and versatile and I love that they are made from strips of paper that I always seem to have around. Thanks for sharing!!
I think you've just created a monster. I'm already obsessed with flowers. Painting them, drawing them, I'm drawn to the floral papers, and theme in my journals.....I even made all of my own fabric flowers using the lighter method to minipulate the material into petals. I've been trying to make them out of paper for awhile now, but couldn't figure it out. Thanks so much! I've already made 3! Lol
you've got one of the best teaching and demostration styles I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing all your creativity, sense of humor and delight in all the the things not quite perfect :).

How timely. Just getting started and after I glued a button to some tea dyed paper I realized I need a flower. I tried to use a flower from the paper I was using-just centering it and curling the petals. But now I know what to do. Oddly enough, the first one I tried w your instructions on book page paper worked fine. It took two pieces. And now my hands and brain are fighting one another. But you said keep trying!! By the way-a cake decorating class many years ago making “perfect” flowers - the instructor mentioned most things in nature including flowers are not perfect and that is often their beauty. You do a very good job instructing and encouraging. Thank you. On to practicing but I also wanna see the little wonky envelopes. So much to learn and do!! Thanks.
These flowers are so great I had to put you on pause and make some. Since you said flimsy is good, I decided to use strips from a mail-order catalogue. Just about as flimsy as you can get! I wanted the "petals" to be jagged so I used my biggest zigzag edged scissors to cut the strips instead of just tearing them as I first tried. The results were super! The colors were varied but coordinated from the ads in the catalogue. The strips were long enough to make a complete tiny flower so I just added a couple of strips from the same ad together to make a bigger flower. I will have to find another storage box for these because I've already made 6 and your video is still playing. This idea ROCKS!!!!!

These are fabulous! I will be using them in my journals for sure! My daughter is a special needs teacher. She does art classes with 6 children K-2nd grade.
