*_VS Zero Three_* ...What do you see, Star Warrior? What do you see when you close your eyes? When you think to yourself? Sunshine? Friends? ...Happiness? Relaxing in the sunlight, enjoying a nice picnic? I only see Darkness. Loneliness. Sorrow. Eternal damnation in this dark pit I call my home. I am forever eternally empty. No SOUL. No heart. Just pure...blackness. The only thing that cuts through the expanding darkness my own blood, shed by your own hands. Whether you kill me, my Matters or the ones I possess. I will always see in black and red. I never asked for this, I just wanted to share my pain. And I will achieve my goal. Starting with you.
This song delves into the other side of the story. The life of Dark Matter. The life of Zero. The galaxy is filled with people who know joy. Even people that you fight. Everyone has a bit of happiness in them. But what if there was a being... a collective group that could not feel happiness... A group of people that live a life of hatred and greed... A group that can... and never will feel happiness. That's dark matter. As time continues, more and more dark matter is drawn to a planet filled with happy and carefree people. They come to destroy all this joy... because they can never feel it. They don't want others to be able to feel it. But they fail. This is their last stand. Zero 2, the biggest... seemingly last living power of Dark Matter, is in his last ditch attempt to finally win over positive feelings. He's able to be destroyed by the thing that he will never be able to feel. From our perspective, it's a tense, climactic fight to save everything. But for Dark Matter... it's the last chance they got... and... it's going to be their last.
Da Nintendude To me its not so much Jealousy but incomprehension. Zero can't comprehend happiness, and because of that happiness cannot be allowed to exist. Sorrow has no meaning without happiness, therefore Zero can't suffer, it can only destroy.
Zero has no feelings. It CANT feel. It just is. Everything is exact black and white, it is either Dark Matter or it is Not Dark Matter and anything that isnt Dark Matter must be absorbed and become part of Dark Matter, for that is the only reason to exist as far as Zero is concerned.
@@elijahmuller5041 yes this is kirby this is the lore its very dark you have to play all the games and figure it out on your own its pretty dark how much suffering these seemingly happy games are and seems very Lovecraftian
To me, this is the greatest villain that Kirby has ever faced. Shoutout to both you, Little V, and to WoolieV (WoolieVersus) for showing this great piece!
Listening to thise tune makes me feel... empty. Uneasy. Maybe sad? However, It captures perfectly the struggle of or against Zero 2. As it was defeated, killed, by something it could not understand at all - Love - Zero got devoided by everything it held for it's purpose. Hatred, sorrow, meanace and the intent to destroy... all of it got vanquished by this intense feeling it had been fighting against. Something it never knew. Just.. what was it? As it's final moments drew near, it must have thought something like this: "Why. Why is this happening? Have i been wrong by destroying everything in my path? Maybe.... But now... now. I can't feel anything anymore. It's... so empty inside. So peacefull. So... overwhelming. Is this the true purpose of existance? Of MY existance? If so... then I shall bring this inner peace to the entire universe. For i now know the truth. Every creature in existance shall recive my gift... of nothingness. Emptyness. This void created within me... it will give birth to a new me. And when it happens, ALL will become one within me. As everything becomes nothing, and nothing becomes everything, we all shall become... ZERO 2."
Kirby did save Zero, Using the shard gun and love love stick, he relieved Zero of his pain, and since pain is what he's made off he ceased to be, finally resting in peace.
Zero Two always gave me a sad vibe. It's not scary, like Marx Soul it's not rage inducing like Galacta Knight, it's not happy like every mini boss. It's sad. Like, you shouldn't do this. It feels wrong.
Kirby shouldn't be doing this. He should've saved him from the darkness. People give a crap about him saving void termina, but dont give a dam about zero. Dark Matter CAN be cured, our little puffball just needs to get that through his thick head. Zero is a suffering soul, and kirby just doesnt understand that. THAT is what the next kirby game should be about. I mean, I certainly did.
This should be the end theme to Kirbys Ending in Smash Bros Ultimate. I can imagine it. You beat Story Mode with Kirby and you see all the characters in the roster defeated and Kirbys just standing in the middle of them kinda beat up as this plays in the background. A beautiful ending to the true devourer of Gods.
I cant believe I'm only finding this 3 years later. This is bonechilling. As if 02's theme couldn't be amazing enough, hearing it like this, makes me kind of sad. We wouldn't have positive energy without negative energy. Zero and Zero 2, Dark Matter, all of it exists in some form for a reason, and I think that while Kirby may be victorious each time, the balance is that Dark Matter seems to always come back in some way, and will keep coming back no matter what. I've always found the different forms of Dark Matter to have the most impact lorewise when it comes to antagonists in the Kirby series, because they're pure in a way. They aren't driven by anything but one singular goal, and they serve their purpose in the universe, unaffected by human emotions or vices, they awaken that darker nature in people, the side that's always there, because it's all they've ever known to do.
I love media with cute, cuddly and lovable art styles. But I love it more when the media goes to its furthest to Break The Cutie. When the villain can plunge the adorable hero to their darkest possible depths, unraveling unnerving and utterly *terrifying* implications, and while everything seems to turns out okay… you know that the hero… went through some traumatic revelations. Thank you for joining me on why I think Star Allies is the best headcannon material in the entire Kirby franchise.
Kirby always had some of the scariest bosses. What makes Nintendo bosses so interesting is you get what's IMPLIED from said bosses is horrifying in and of itself, you dont NEED to be shown all these horrifying things to understand a darker, subtle, yet recognizable element to them. Zero Two is one of those bosses
Can't wait to see where this franchise takes us next. I'm telling you the Elfilin and Fecto Forgo thing was a hint that Void is trying to reconnect with Kirby lol. Negativity seeks out its positive counterpart to be whole again. Which is how it works in real life too. Miserable people are toxically attracted to positive people.
This...might be my favorite cover of this song. I mean there are great metal and rock covers. But this...just...captures a dark sadness that I've never really felt for this character. Bloody well done bud.
@@laki_shuffle While this does make perfect sense, there is one part of it that kinda bugs me. If zero can't feel emotions, then why does it weep? If it was incapable of sadness, then what reason would it have to shed its bloody tears?
I'm really happy to see these getting uploaded here. Ever since I saw Woolie's videos and saw you credited as the source of the tracks he uses. These are a big departure from the norm of your channel though so I was concerned they'd never get released. Thanks V, thanks a bunch.
This is somewhat unsettling... It sounds like Zero has finally snapped and took over the entire universe and Kirby is the only survivor and everyone is controlled by Dark Matter. I would think that music plays when you’re going to finally confront Zero and destroy him and you’re inside a dark void that has red eyes floating in the background. It could be called Void Zero (Astral Birth Void????) (I was close...)
Simply amazing. To me this cover gives off a very "ruined" vibe. Like Zero Two has already won and has succeeded in taking over everything. Picture this: -You fly into Popstar on a warp star -The planet has transformed from its usual bright yellow to pitch black -The sky is as dark as night -You spot the broken remains of the Halberd -You can see Dedede's castle in the distance: it's walls crumbling down -Whispy's usual derpy face is replaced with a single giant eye -Any and all life is replaced with dark matter -You look up into the sky and see a giant red eye: looming over and observing everything -All the while this earworm of a cover plays on loop in the background Keep up the amazing work!
Kirby came back just a little too late. Zero has consumed Popstar, and Kirby knows that he can’t save it anymore. Kirby tries to fight Zero, but it is no longer possible to do so. Zero doesn’t retaliate, or even try to hurt Kirby, and neither does the surrounding Dark Matter. Finally, Kirby understands what they sought. Ironically, it was the same thing that Kirby had used to defeat them so many times, and kept them from having: a person to understand them, a person to be with, a person to know and to know them; a friend. And now, with Kirby without any of his own, he looks to the sky and gazes to Zero’s unwavering eye. It showed no anger, but looked at Kirby affectionately. Kirby knew what it wanted, and now, it would finally get exactly that. Kirby closed his eyes, looked up, and smiled. A smile that would never fade.
One of the few Zero 2 remixes that actually captures the mood. Most just don't feel like Zero 2, a demonic bleeding eyeball with much mystery and sadness behind it. Very well done.
So because of WoolieVersus' Dark Matter Trilogy video, here's something i came up with, but within the realm of my own headcannons "Pink one, do you know what free will does to people? It turns people into scary, horrible monsters. Free will was the reason that they hurt me. So if i take over everyone's minds, and turn them into me, then they won't hurt me anymore. And they won't hurt anyone else. They'll all become my friends."
“Child of the Stars, we haven’t forgotten you. You took our sight from us. We have awoken now, ready to spread our darkness throughout the universe. We will show no mercy to you, child. You have pained us before and that WILL NOT happen again.”
My own description of 02: "The demon has returned to face you off once more... After so many battles against eachother you feel that this is your final battle with.. It... Within your heart and your friends take on the demon once and for all... Do your best kirby..."
I've been on a kick to find more remakes of this song lately It was so epic for a sweet game like Kirby 64. I remember feeling the adrenaline that this song induced and thought " oh...shit is going to get real." However, this beautifully haunting version evokes empathy for the boss in me. I imagine what may have happened to it to the get to the point that it wanted to destroy the planets, maybe with a voice inside that it struggles with constantly to do the "right thing" and be for "good" but it has no control over its obtuse body, with the constant push and pull internally causing its eyes to bleed red. It wasn't its fault, it had no control. Maybe during the whole fight, Kirby telepathically understood it's strife and knew what he had to do to help free its tortured soul. Beautifully done remake.

for just some instruments used to make a different sound of a theme in a video game from so long ago it is so emotional at the same time. You are all that is left of you and your kind, and you are the leader of it all. you think you are nothing doing nothing at all, but at the same time you know your doing it all. you think its all made to be sadness, but its both happiness and sadness that create emotions. and as only sadness your attacked by the brightest star in the multiverses. the closest you can find to the embodiment of happy. you dont know what to do so you fight it yourself. you lose. you know it isnt over. you sacrifice your feeling, your soul, your dark matter....yourself. and then you lose again. and for the last time. but it might have really been a good thing it was done. for your sake. and everyone elses
The reason everything you see in Kirby games are so innocent and unassuming is because you're seeing everything through Kirby's perspective. In reality, things could actually look much more gruesome. Is... Is Kirby a metaphor for childhood innocence?
Well...Kirby is portrayed as a child, aren't they? And I doubt they truly understand the weight of all the threats they face, considering they challenge their forces with a smile.
I saw this in my recommended and nearly fell off my chair. I fell in love with this the minute i heard it in the kirby lore series and now i shall enjoy it until the end of time.
"The sands of time slip from our grasp. It's only 2 minutes away from midnight. The war, will happen.... are you ready?" A quote based off of the cold war.
ZERO 2 "creature.. i dont want this anymore" "i dont want to live like this" "i can remember the screams of thousands in agony and pain" "why must i always live to cause suffering" "just you being here tells me the truth" "its my time to go"
I always feel that 02 represented asphyxiation... because it's name is very similar to O2, the chemical formula for oxygen. Not to mention the "blood" it releases...
Nice little change of pace with this one. It's crazy seeing how much range you have as a musician, going from epic metal to something much calmer. Out of interest, what's the font you use for the text in this video? It looks really nice.
I distinctly remember a bit of Woolie's video where a metal rendition was done. Will that be shown as well or was that not you? This is fantastic though. Chills down my spine every time.
It sounds like something that’d play for an empty kingdom, as the heroes travel up the barracks and vacant halls, awaiting a battle with the undying king who rules over nothing.
it would be Really nice if they hid an music box that played this song in star allies, after all kirby 64 is the most mysterious and intriguing game of the franchise i mean; we see the earth, an angel of the death, ribbon, the power crystal, dark matter, adeleine, and most friend of kirby including dedede to fight for one purpose.
I'm so happy that I can listen to this music on it's own. I wonder if LittleV also did that rock remix of 0²'s theme that plays 5 and a half minutes into Woolie's Dark Matter video...

Never in my life, did I imagine Woolie could ever be so...frightening, and epic.
*_VS Zero Three_*
...What do you see, Star Warrior?

Dark Nebula is Zero 3, His name is Dark Zero in Japan, sorry to burst your bubble. You could say that this is Zero's Void, if you get what I mean.
@@thewanderingcalamity9279 ...he isn't fucking 0 three
thats just a name. who knows. he might just be a fragment of his mind. or some shit like that.
"Idk about that where's my fucking money you oversized marshmallow"
Zero is a void of nothingness. The only thing she - it - feels is pure apathy. It does not hate. It does not love. It does not care. It only feeds.
Are you describing Kirby or freakin’ Lovecraftian horror?
@@elijahmuller5041 yes this is kirby this is the lore its very dark you have to play all the games and figure it out on your own its pretty dark how much suffering these seemingly happy games are and seems very Lovecraftian
This is just calming, no fear, yet also no joy, just a weird, calming, melody...

As it's final moments drew near, it must have thought something like this:
"Why.

That would be better than the endings we actually got.
@@senseiswordmaster8785 true since it felt like a more bittersweet ending where Kirby save the world but at the cost of everything
Little V doesn't always make epic rock covers, but even when he doesn't, his work is _always_ outstanding!
This actually made me shed a few tears. Thank goodness they weren’t tears of blood.
The sadness, the despair. What Kirby did to Zero/Zero-Two was an act of kindness and honestly, I believe it was the only real solution.
This sounds like 0² was successful, and eradicated all life on ripple star. Now the planet in permanent darkness. As snow slowly falls from the sky
Zero and Giygas: two villains that even though they are evil..............
They both were in immeasurable pain.
A LittleV cover which isn't metal? WHAT!?
You must be new here 😊
Dude, this is the most fitting way the song could be done. Honestly, it's haunting and beautiful at the same time.
LordVulpix Onestly, I agree. I've only said that I was abituated to hear a cover of LittleV that isn't metal.

How beautiful and sad……

So he just wants to destroy the whole universe
Amy Sizemore whatthefuck
@@laki_shuffle While this does make perfect sense, there is one part of it that kinda bugs me. If zero can't feel emotions, then why does it weep? If it was incapable of sadness, then what reason would it have to shed its bloody tears?

I never thought this theme could get any creepier.

I'm really happy to see these getting uploaded here. Ever since I saw Woolie's videos and saw you credited as the source of the tracks he uses. These are a big departure from the norm of your channel though so I was concerned they'd never get released. Thanks V, thanks a bunch.
このシンプルなデザインの目による、威圧感の凄さ。研ぎ澄まされたデザイン。
This is somewhat unsettling...
It sounds like Zero has finally snapped and took over the entire universe and Kirby is the only survivor and everyone is controlled by Dark Matter. I would think that music plays when you’re going to finally confront Zero and destroy him and you’re inside a dark void that has red eyes floating in the background. It could be called Void Zero
(Astral Birth Void????)
(I was close...)
I don’t think zero ever had it
Or Absolute Zero.
Or Supreme Ruler Zero
I was waiting for this ever since the kirby lore video dropped.
I was just relistening to the Kirby Lore that featured this and completely forgot that Mr. Metal himself did this music box cover. Awesome!
If 02 was actually on Shiver Star this would be so perfectly in theme.
Simply amazing. To me this cover gives off a very "ruined" vibe. Like Zero Two has already won and has succeeded in taking over everything.
Picture this:
-You fly into Popstar on a warp star
-The planet has transformed from its usual bright yellow to pitch black
-The sky is as dark as night
-You spot the broken remains of the Halberd
-You can see Dedede's castle in the distance: it's walls crumbling down
-Whispy's usual derpy face is replaced with a single giant eye
-Any and all life is replaced with dark matter
-You look up into the sky and see a giant red eye: looming over and observing everything
-All the while this earworm of a cover plays on loop in the background
Keep up the amazing work!
You forgot a detail: that Eye is watching you. Unconcerned, for soon you will be a part of It.
Kirby came back just a little too late. Zero has consumed Popstar, and Kirby knows that he can’t save it anymore. Kirby tries to fight Zero, but it is no longer possible to do so. Zero doesn’t retaliate, or even try to hurt Kirby, and neither does the surrounding Dark Matter. Finally, Kirby understands what they sought. Ironically, it was the same thing that Kirby had used to defeat them so many times, and kept them from having: a person to understand them, a person to be with, a person to know and to know them;
a friend.
@@gladoseon4117 then zeros eye becomes a smile with two little black dots above it, smiling back.
One of the few Zero 2 remixes that actually captures the mood. Most just don't feel like Zero 2, a demonic bleeding eyeball with much mystery and sadness behind it. Very well done.
I weep.
I scream.
I dare not dream.
Ophanim our chariot awaits
To blaze a trail across the sky...
Is this our purpose..?
Or is nothing all we’re meant for…?
You who stand blessed under starlight.
You are Zero.
No. U
They die
You are Zero?
We, are zero.
But more importantly, you are hungry.
This is one of my favorite 02 theme song videos.
So because of WoolieVersus' Dark Matter Trilogy video, here's something i came up with, but within the realm of my own headcannons
"Pink one, do you know what free will does to people? It turns people into scary, horrible monsters. Free will was the reason that they hurt me. So if i take over everyone's minds, and turn them into me, then they won't hurt me anymore. And they won't hurt anyone else. They'll all become my friends."
Sorrow has no meaning without happiness, therefore nothing in this is sad.
I think the last sentence would work better like this; "They'll all become, as you would say, my 'friends.'"
“Child of the Stars, we haven’t forgotten you. You took our sight from us. We have awoken now, ready to spread our darkness throughout the universe. We will show no mercy to you, child. You have pained us before and that WILL NOT happen again.”
A song of matters most dark
*sigh*
My own description of 02: "The demon has returned to face you off once more...
After so many battles against eachother you feel that this is your final battle with.. It...
Within your heart and your friends take on the demon once and for all...
Do your best kirby..."
Such a chill, calm yet haunting remix. I'am loving it!
A peacefull snowy forest
A feeling of Forgotten nostalgia which you cant remember fully
But you are glad its there
I've been on a kick to find more remakes of this song lately It was so epic for a sweet game like Kirby 64.
Beautifully done remake.
endless darkness, endless night
a world anathema to light
all that's made can surely break
only in dreams can we awaken
sound and fury, heralds, horns
cry for the one from nothing born
now ichor leaks from broken hearts
now come, warrior of the stars!
when you look into the sky
you'll see the light surrounded by
the dark
the abyss, lurking
things beyond your understanding
you who left the doorway open
into your hearts
into the stars
for as long as there is fear
the creeping shadow shall draw near
from the darkness
comes the nightmare
born to swallow
up the light
the miracle of shadow rising
all that matters now colliding
angels cry on wings of blood
rain down the tears to bring the flood
and as corruption takes your heroes
everything will fall to zero
can you feel the rumble of the coming storm?
reality lies upon the edge of thorns
now the power that is borrowed
will not guarantee tomorrow
and the universe will drown among the sorrow sworn
rise and fall
this is my call
i weep, i scream
i dare not dream
Ophanim, our chariot awaits
to blaze a trait across the sky
is this our purpose?
or is nothing all we're meant for?
you who stand blessed under starlight
gaze upon me
do you fear me?
as you fly to guard your dreams
the shadow swallows your regime
endless darkness, endless night
a world anathema to light
all that's made can surely break
only in dreams can we awaken
sound and fury, heralds, horns
cry for the one from nothing born
now ichor leaks from broken hearts
now come, warrior of the stars!
'cross the endless eons
we have come so far
seen a life reflected
in the crystal shards
the Paein of the bells
rings out a melody from hell
and deep inside the darkness drowns a beating fell beast's heart

What I love is that this song works equally well at double speed. Alas, that means I only get around 2.5 minutes of it instead of 5.
for just some instruments used to make a different sound of a theme in a video game from so long ago
it is so emotional at the same time.
Hold up. You made this? The same guy i’ve been getting my funky metal remixes from for years now made this music box?

Unexpected, but not unwelcome.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
I've never clicked on a video so fast before. I never thought I'd see the say Little V do anything with Zero Two's theme
This is so amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was Little V! That's what they call "range" folks.
It's one of the Adobe fonts, I'm pretty sure. Trajan, I think?

I was about to say that I heard this in one or two of WoolieVersus's videos, but then I remembered that you made a lot of the music he uses.

I didn't think it was possible for this song to be any sadder but here we are!
I really love spoopy music boxes such as these
This song kinda reminds of the music from the gherman boss fight in bloodborne mostly cuz it sounds so sad the entire time.
And here I thought this theme couldn't get more disturbing.
A lovecraftian being of all encompassing horror. Known as Zero
It sounds like something that’d play for an empty kingdom, as the heroes travel up the barracks and vacant halls, awaiting a battle with the undying king who rules over nothing.

I don't know what's going on, but I love every second of this, I really love music box covers
Haunting.
it would be Really nice if they hid an music box that played this song in star allies, after all kirby 64 is the most mysterious and intriguing game of the franchise i mean; we see the earth, an angel of the death, ribbon, the power crystal, dark matter, adeleine, and most friend of kirby including dedede to fight for one purpose.
I think this is amazing, love it, i love your metal stuff but this is fantastic, keep going! Fantastic
This is... so beautiful...
I'm so happy that I can listen to this music on it's own. I wonder if LittleV also did that rock remix of 0²'s theme that plays 5 and a half minutes into Woolie's Dark Matter video...
