Hey Brad! I wait for your new videos each week. May I suggest, after finding items like the “sash buckle” it would be really cool to see them after you’ve cleaned them up.
Yes, that would be nice to see the whole day's find cleaned up at the end of the videos, other channels do that and it makes sense as a lot of the pieces have dirt, corrosion and more than one side that might be in better condition underneath.
Yes, continue on with the additional camera. Even though I get a little anxious wondering what you've found now, I think it is a great addition to your 'history detecting' accoutrements.
Husband here. Your calm demeanor/tranquillity....your exploring outdoors....your thought process....your curiosity and delicate conclusion. Thank you! wish I was their!!
I was just thinking the same thing. There are many other UA-cam detecting channels, but the guys in them think that screaming at the tops of their lungs everytime they find the slightest thing is a way to add excitement to their videos. I like Brad's approach a million times more.
Brad, your statement about holding something in your hand that someone else held a hundred, hundred and fifty years ago is a mindset I share with you. Amateur archeologists love the past. Enjoyed your adventure and look forward to the next.
As a teenager, my dream was to become an archeologist 😢 I love finding history. At my older age, I love hunting for the history using my metal detector and walking my creeks.
i carry an old stone native american cutting tool in my pocket. i found it in my backyard in southern california. i like to imagine someone hundreds or thousands of years ago carrying it around . it makes me think about people who lived here long ago and it makes me feel less stressed out about the present
My father brought my brother and I detecting and it was about 40 yards from a old cemetery out in middle of nowhere and I found a pilgrims shoe buckle solid gold in A+ condition and my grandfather talked me into donating it to the Augusta state museum. That's where it is . Been about 37 years or so . Take my kids to see it once in a while. Archeologists and college professors from all over the world study in . And possibly do the same thing today and donate for everyone to enjoy.
IT GREAT TO DO GOOD AND DONATE BUT THIS DAY AND AGE NOPE CANT TRUST ANYTHING AND SHOULD ALWAYS ASK YOUR SELF WOULD THEY DONATE TO YOU IN NEED I THINK NOT unfortunately that's the world we live in today nor can modern day taught history be trusted or modern museums are known to hide and burry artifacts that go against their narrative the sad truth
Some old wood sash windows have those thumb lock mechanisms to hold the window open at a few preselected heights. Only the flat part would be visible. That’s what it resembles, to me. The door knob was probably found next to it. Often, hardware was transferred from one homesite to another
Brad, It’s hard to improve upon perfection but good for you (and us) that you are always looking to improve your videos. We appreciate you, young man! Always remember that snow is a four letter word!
I was going to give the thumbs up on the live digs before you even asked. It gives the videos more authenticity and a touch of excitement. We get to enjoy the anticipation of the find more. Good job.
The new camera is an amazing addition to your videos. As a fellow detectorist that point of view really helps scratch the itch. Your production quality is making it harder and harder to enjoy some of the other channels in the space. Keep up the amazing work.
He shows those from time to time when he does a blog. Or sometimes he has videos where he shows his work and how he cleans them up and how he sets them out. If you go through all his videos I bet you'll find some. I know you will I've watched every one of them..
I’m an older Vermonter now living in the beautiful Smoky mountains of East Tennessee for 8 years now. I love the milder winter weather here but miss my real home of Vermont. Watching you satisfies two things for me. It gets me into the forest and I get to watch you enjoy metal detecting which I always wanted to try. I think the new camera is going to work out well although it may not always be aimed correctly. I look forward each week to see what new treasures you will find and try to guess where you might be detecting that week. Thank you for doing what you do so well and bringing me along with you. May god bless you and your family and friends. Thanks so much from Ron C. Originally from Rochester Vt.
@@hoosierplowboy5299 We call Maryville our home but we are between Florida Tennessee and my home state of Vermont my real home. We love Tennessee and the people here are as nice as home in Vt. We travel in our Ram Promaster Van quite a bit.
Hey Brad, it was good to see ya, representing xp Deus at Digstock 2023! Appreciated you being there, but didn’t want to be a fanboy and get a selfie with you. I’m glad for all you do for the metal detecting community keeping people both aware of their history And enthusiastic about, digging it up!
That mystery button looks like the piece to the old telegraph machines they used to transmit signals/messages using morse code. I'm pretty sure those mystery buttons are the switches for the old telegraph machines for sending and receiving messages for sure. I've just seen that switch so many times in old western films and it fits perfectly with the 1850's time frame.
The roller has a function on that button type device a strip of metal probably ran through the gap, someone else mentioned window stay. Needs more research.
Great amazing finds . Awesome brass tag you found hopefully you can share a story behind it . Very beautiful scenery . Ty for sharing this video great 2nd camera thanks Brad
The extra camera is an added plus & I like it. I do also really enjoy the bits of nature up there that you show us in every video...those mushrooms, fungi, trees, etc.. SO Pretty ! Thanks for another delightful video. Happy Treasure Hunting !
Those clips, I've seen something similar many may years ago on a very old farm machine. They where recesed into the wood with a spring under them. You pushed it in and could tighten or loosen a leather strap and when you let go it gripped the leather belt. The ones I saw where on a static thresher machine from the late 1800's and held the stowage boxes closed. There was a Bix on each side each with 2 of the clasps. Don't know if they are the same item but look very similar. Love the new camera angles BTW. Charlie 🇬🇧
Another great and entertaining video Brad. Look forward to your work every week. Always enjoy when your friends join you to have some fun, Mike is my favorite, he seemed more like a bodyguard . The new camera angles are great, can’t wait to see what your doing next week.
Brad , I really enjoy you showing the scenery as you're detecting as it allows me to feel like I'm there with you ! Thank you as I've never been to Vermont yet !
I definitely liked the new footage. Also, if you are able to track down someone to connect to the trapper's tag, you might ask if the named person also smoked a pipe. They seem to be possibly of similar age.
Oh, Brad, bringing back memories. 50 years ago, married a lady from Newport while living in Hawaii. Spent a few weeks in a number of summers on Lake Seymour, and skied Jay Peak a few times in the Winter. Maple syrup, sugar on snow, walleye and perch fishing, vinegar on French fries, Cabot cheese, wonderful people...😊
I have been watching your videos for quite some time and have always loved both your photography and your extensive knowledge of the treasures you discover. Having the extra camera adds another element and something more...your commentary while you are going through the complete process is perfect and, to me, makes the videos more complete...
The new camera was great. The shoe buckle, corset buckle and sash buckle were probably from the same lady. The sash buckle was beautiful and my favorite find for you today.
Love the historical/background commentary you’ve added into the vlog… I really enjoy learning/hearing what you have to say about all of these items. Nicely done!
The two coolest things the sash clasp and shoe buckle made my day. You are so blessed to be able to explore the way you do. Your puzzle pieces look to me possibly like some kind of musical instrument pieces. I hope you find out and let us know
First, yes to the added camera. Second, Be nice to see items like the sash buckle after you clean them up for display. Third, I enjoy watching this whole process, so thanks for taking the extra time you spend recording and explaining things.
Nice finds Brad. As a long time fanman of your meticulous uploads, musical ability and historical finds etc.. I'm hooked!! Been digging a couple of years and wish I had started years ago. Thumbs up on the new camera addition. Had no effect on my vertigo, all is great!! Thanks 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed your post! I love treasure hunting and metal detecting is certainly that! A calming break from the hustle and bustle of the majority of the posts…thanks, and I will be back!
Hi Brad! Congratulations on finding that sash buckle. Would love to see how it looks after you clean it up. Love your videos and I always look forward to see what you dig up next! The new camera angle is a great addition.
Extra camera probably not worth the trouble. Your metal detector show excels because your don't do a lot of tedious digging on camera. The historical background, the cleanup and the enthusiasm for the objects found is much appreciated. I have learned a lot about VT from your show, even though I attended UVM and should know some stuff.
Thank you Brad! I liked the camera added... The buckle piece you found I see it attaching with another side that would match the square piece, connecting underneath the round I can't think what you call them floral peace and center. As a woman that's how I see that belt buckle closing. It's beautiful.
First of all you change the music on the intro and I love it! I like all of your music. And see how you're always thinking, this is what sets you apart. You added a camera so we could watch more. Will let you know what we think but I am always impressed by you Brad! Ty
Love going along with you on your adventures. Just a thought, when talking about older clothing, maybe on one of your trips you could visit someplace like Colonial Williamsburg and have the people there show the differences, similarities, and the styles of clothing of those earlier times? Keep doing what you do.
I bet those woods look a lot different today. I was just feeling like it wouldn't be long before I could get out in the woods around here in Franklin County until Mother Nature chimed in this week.
💥First video of yours I've seen, and I loved it! ❤Most similar metal detecting I have seen are about funding something of monetory value, and I didn't care for that. I am SO with you about finding things that help one feel into the past! Gives us a chance to appreciate all those who have lived through this game before us and paved the way for our .............. progress!? Thank you very much for sharing your passion!!! Your demeanor and attitude ROCK!😊
Love the videos man maybe check the settings to see if you can get a different picture instead of the fish bowl effect. Think it’s great your trying something different
Love your content. Been watching you a long time. You use to show what you find after you have cleaned it up. You are one or the reasons I got into metal detecting.
Watching the digs this late was great Brad. I Liked the camera too if it doesn't interfere with your searching time. Thank you. We have your snow out west this year.!
Brad, your 3rd camera application is excellent and, now I ALMOST feel like I'm digging. Really have enjoyed all your videos for years now, and appreciate your commentary about the "finds" and the nature around you.....pretty pictures.
The extra angles are great. Ever think about a tripod though? In that way you can dig the target with you in view and dub in the close up once you recover it. In any case, just videoing your hunts is always great. You really found some amazing items there. I hope you are going back and hopefully locate the home site. Thanks for sharing another fantastic hunt with us Brad.
I like this new format a lot, BUT I love your photography between digs. It has always been my belief that what nature produces has so much more intrinsic beauty. Please keep it all.
Great videos. One of the first channels that I've come across that I can set down and really enjoy. Your editing is fantastic and very well put together. I did what you are doing for over 30 years, and the way I found treasure hunting was a total accident. A guy came into my shop and we were talking and he said he had the White's Metal Dectecting store in town. I stopped by and was blown away by his displays of what he had found and the old 5 gallon glass water bottles full of coins. I was really interested after that but wasn't sure if I wanted to part with that much money at that time. He sold me an older used, White's detector and told me to use it for 60 days. If I brought it back in 60 days, he would give me my money back or allow me to get a better machine, and what I had paid would go to the new one. You can't beat a deal like that, and the rest is history. I found way over 10 times what I had invested in my equipment. Good up the great work. I'm now a new subscriber.
Another upvote for the new camera! That conical bullet does indeed look modern. I used to hunt with a .54 muzzleloader in Southern Vt using those bullets. Heck, it may be one of mine, lol.
Really love the music! And natural photos you sprinkle in with your discoveries! Best digger channel ever! Your gorgeous smile and obvious enjoyment in the woods is bonus!
Looks like a latch for a window. Old houses had those to hold windows shut. It had a lever attached to it. I could be wrong. Excellent video! Very calming
Brad, I'm a fan of the extra camera, not too jarring or disorienting at all. It also fills in some gaps, and in most cases allows us to be there for an authentic first response. I've always loved your videos but this new dimension makes them even better. Fantastic finds! Cheers!
Loved the new camera work Mr. Spielberg, maybe next week you'll dig up an Oscar. Seriously though great day loved that door knob, my mom's used to collect them. See ya next Friday Brad.
I thoroughly enjoy all your videos and wanted to comment on the bullet you found. If it measures around .457-.458 diameter and weighs in the neighborhood of around 400-410grains I believe it is from a 45-70 caliber cartridge. This caliber was very popular in the late 1800's through today. A number of firearms were made to utilize this cartridge.
I like this format much better than the former "hey look what I just found" format. As a fellow detectorist, I am interested in seeing and hearing the coil swing on targets as well as the digging. I wouldn't mind if you mentioned the numbers from time to time either. Thanks, beautiful videos.
Brad, I think often about what you said and who touched it before me. Especially, the hands who built the walls I can still touch today. Loved this video and I enjoyed seeing the process.
Love the new camera. Sash buckle was my favorite find. I recognized it as that. I inherited a few with clasps like that. The strange metal objects look like cabinet hardware to me. Great video. Thanks.
One cent was as exciting find. Never would have suspected that given the description you provided of the place. The door knob reminded me of the ones we had in a house we rented when I was a child. There were a couple of the ornate glass ones in that house too. I really like the pretty "belt buckle" and would like to see that once it's all "shiny and new" again. Thanks for starting my Friday "Reading Day" off. Be safe, Be Healthy, Be you.
Love every video you make, it’s how you find an everyday item and produce a story about how that item got to where you found it and a story if when and how…..fancy a trip out with myself and my wife dectecting in the South Wales England you would love it and can’t imagine the stories you would make over a Roman or Celtic coin or a medieval ring or maybe a hammered silver coin…..keep making those videos and telling those stories please…
Hey Brad!

May I suggest, after finding items like the “sash buckle” it would be really cool to see them after you’ve cleaned them up.

I LOVED THIS! My favorites were the "I'm not sure what this is" and - of course - the door knob! The camera work was great!
Love seeing all the different angles. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing your detecting and love of history. I watch daily with my morning coffee. As always a beautiful production. Thanks
That clasp is a beauty. Yes please keep showing more of your dig.
Really love the music! And natural photos you sprinkle in with your discoveries! Best digger channel ever!
Your gorgeous smile and obvious enjoyment in the woods is bonus!
I liked the camera usage. Good hunt-great finds. KEEP DIGGIN! MD
Thoroughly enjoyable video. I enjoyed your video work. Interesting finds and scenery. Thank you.
The video presentation was wonderful. I really enjoyed watching this.. Thank you Brad…
Looks like a latch for a window. Old houses had those to hold windows shut. It had a lever attached to it. I could be wrong. Excellent video! Very calming
Awesome finds this time. So, I will go out tomorrow and beeeep! Thank you Brad! Peace
Your gentle sweet demeanor is nice to listen for.
I liked seeing more of the digging.
Absolutely love the three cameras. Keep using them!!!
Your quality of videos are always great look forward to the next
Love your finds. I too would enjoy seeing some of your finds ready for your display case
Love the new camera, whole new perspective! Thanks for the look into our past!
What a beautiful door knob!! Thanks for sharing Brad. Awesome adventure 🕊
Like the view from the new camera. Technology has come a long way.
I really enjoy your adventures and I am glad that you are sharing them with us. Thank you.
I like this format much better than the former "hey look what I just found" format.
As a fellow detectorist, I am interested in seeing and hearing the coil swing on targets as well as the digging. I wouldn't mind if you mentioned the numbers from time to time either. Thanks, beautiful videos.
Well Done. Love that door knob, got to recycle that one.
Several different colors and styles mounted on a rustic wood panel out of a six panel door makes a cool coat rack.
Once again, another great video of all the things you find out there. Thanks for sharing.
I love the way you showed the dig process!
