  • After over a year of ownership my batteries started going on the tire pressure monitor system sensors that came with my Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheel as part of the JayCommand BMPro Smart RV System. In today's video I'll show how quick and easy it is to change out the batteries on all of the TPMS sensors.

I need to do this in the spring, one of mine was not working at all last season but we only pulled the trailer short distances only a few times.

How do you keep track of these, you have to keep the App open in order to see if there’s a problem? How does it warn you in the event of a flat? I was considering a different system once we hit the road and need up to the moment information on tire pressure.

I don't believe the BMPro sensors are labeled physically, or at least legible to my eyesight. So I'm always careful to only take off one at time to avoid mixing them up. Mine came already setup at delivery, but not sure if that was dealer or Jayco factory. The BMPro app does warn you when PSI or temp gets outside the range you preset, similar to your truck's TPMS. It'll push a notification essentially to top of your notification bar, but only on phone itself...not through Apple carplay or Android Auto that I've noticed in my use. I use the BMPro sensors as a backup as inside my RV wheels I also have the RAM OEM trailer tire TPMS sensors that read in directly to my dash EVIC. Both helpful systems though.

I'm interested in trialing some BMPro sensors for my gas, fridge & tyres but can't for the life of me find out if they will work independently with just the app or whether I can't use them unless I get some sort of hub screen to mount in my van (which won't be happening so I'd rather not waste my money). Do these work with the app? Or do you need a jHub or Odessy or jCommand etc? Thanks

Correct, they are not standalone. So you do need some kind of base or hub that would then interface with the sensors and then turn interface with your phone.

It's kind of confusing because technically they do use Bluetooth to communicate with the hub, but they will not connect directly to your phone as far as I know, and at least not yet.

I really appreciate your reply! Thank you. I had even emailed the company today who just sent me links to their smart sensor packs!
I wonder if there is a product who does sensors to phone...have you heard of any competitors? I've searched but not found any myself.

@@stormyadz I have not heard of any sensors that'll pair direct to the phone without some kind of hub in between them, but it's possible I'm not aware of it. I think it is due to some of the limitations of Bluetooth range. Some phones might have better reception than others, and the range from axles to in the truck cab may be just slightly outside the range perhaps?
